Son’s card would not allow him to tap anymore. On line chat and within a few minutes, I was told a replacement is on the way. Quick and easy.
My sons also been aboard on a school trip and used the card free of charge and worked fine, no issues.

Terrible service from live chat once again. Been on to 3 separate agents this morning due to card issues as well as general app issues. I advise the live chat agent I need change my contact number. I am then swiftly logged out of my app and cannot regain access as the agent did not update my contact number. Nothing but issues with customer service - terrible generic robotic responses with no real help.
Can someone contact me immediately as o need to change contact num and access my app asap.
I have also emailed support - can someone respond immediately and action my request to change number . Based on the review below from another customer it looks like the issue lies with the hyperjar app and not our phone provider, or cache etc. Constantly fobbed off with poor quality of customer service if this is not resolved today I will be also raising a formal complaint.
edit - spoke to Lata at live chat once again zero help - my query has been passed to the relevant team / i literally just want to change my number. Worst experience to date with Hyperjar
Changed to 2 stars as number was eventually changed and now have access to app again - still not access to card this needs fixed asap please.
Changed my mobile phone. Authentication text won’t deliver to let me sign into app. Told by HyperJar you have to keep trying every 2 hours for 3 days and record the timestamps to help them out, oh and call my mobile carrier and check their not blocking them, oh and delete the app and reinstall it, oh and clear my cache, oh and let them know what operating system my phone is. Didn’t realise I was tech support. In the meantime it’s ok though, I can call them if I need to do any banking! Funny thing is this didn’t happen with all my other banking apps?

Ajendra was great when I was passed to her and was able to help with the issue. She has escalated it to the relevant team so I am awaiting the next step.
I found the AI bot unhelpful but they quickly passed to helpful human agent Ajendra and then things went well.

I used the app and spoke to a advisor regarding a issue with my grandaughter card. The problem was resolved quickly and the advisor was polite and solved my issue very quickly.

As soon as I transferred money they put my account on hold pending verification
A full 24 hours later it’s still blocked and no one is replying to me, all my usable money is now trapped and I am late paying my bills
Live chat just tell me not to worry but there is nothing they can do
Edit - changed to 3 stars as they did sort me out in the end and I do like the app but I was left for 24 hours with no money
Great experience with HyperJar. It’s been really useful whilst the kids have been young. Easy for us all to use the app, keep track of spending and adding money. Only had a couple of issues where my daughter couldn’t use her card on a few occasions due to how the merchant had listed their shop, she couldn’t buy a soft drink at a social club, as it fall within the restricted category for child to use their cards. Really great customer service.

You can't withdraw cash so if child is in an emergency they are cashless.
Also when they change phones its a nightmare to get it linked. Tried several times. No other banks do this, you just add password, its really put me off.
Akansha in customer services was extremely helpful, explaining everything clearly and resolving my issue within 5 minutes. Instant help too, without long waiting time on live chat.

Joined so that my son could use the card for payments abroad (USA) function without fee transaction charges.NB No cash withdrawals possible. Firstly it proved impossible to set up his own linked account in UK through app before going as verification code never arrived. Other reviewers report the same issue. Scripted unhelpful chat bot (?) replies meant he was reliant on me interacting on his behalf while abroad (could not see his own balance). Card kept getting frozen every 5 contactless payments meaning I had to approve them. Ridiculously complicated transfer system and menus on app. Couldn't even close account without having to interact with online chat (no person to talk to). There are much better options out there.
