Still No Payment – 6 Months Later. Legal Action Underway

It’s now been 6 months since I sold several expensive items worth more than 2000 Euros on HEWI, and to this day, I have not received any payment. Despite their public claims that the issue was resolved, that is completely false. Nothing has been paid.

This is not just a delay — this is starting to feel like a systematic pattern of withholding seller funds. I have now involved a lawyer and will be taking legal action.

In my opinion, this platform is not safe for sellers. I urge anyone considering using HEWI to do thorough research and be extremely cautious. I would never recommend this platform to other sellers based on my experience. Very disappointed after so many years using this platform.

Payment to seller not received, zero communication/customer care

I haven’t been paid for completed sales and not one person has responded to my emails and phone calls. Really not good enough to have such an archaic structure compared to sites like Vestiaire collective or eBay where your funds are sent out according to a set process, I’ve wasted so much time chasing for someone to reply to me and absolute no response. And to top of it the commission is higher than other sites. Really really not happy. I’m still to be owed for 2 sales, and dressing the other 2 sales that have recently been made on the site

Money Never Received for Items Sold

I sold 2 products as a private seller on the website Hardly Ever Worn It and I waited the 7 days expected to receive my money after the customers received my packages. Even though the products were delivered quickly and my items were received quickly by the customers and there was never any requests for the items to be returned or anything, I never received the money for what I sold (which was around £400). The website just says “processing” for my money owed, but after a couple weeks of not receiving the money, I started emailing them and calling their number to try and get my money. They would pick up or respond to my emails either saying that there are issues with their payments, or would say that I will receive the money on a certain day (which never ended up happening) or to give them other bank details for direct transfer and then would not transfer anything. I think they’ve now blocked my email or number because they never answer anymore. Their website also has plenty of complaints throughout the reviews regarding sold items never getting the money for already, so this is nothing new from them. They clearly do not want to fix anything so I put through a complaint with another organisation against them for fraud so will see if that forces their hand. This website is an obvious scam and you should stay away from them.

BEWARE 2025

BEWARE 2025 - I have sold a few items on this site over the last couple of years and always have to wait months for payment to be released (despite chasing). This time i am owed over £500.00 for a belt sold in December and there’s no sign of the money. I think the company are in financial difficulties and I’ve reported to trading standards and action fraud

Scam, scam fraudsters. Avoid and boycott !!!!

A total scam of a company which is happy to take money from buyers, but failing pay the sellers. Customer service non existing. They won't reply to emails or messages. I can't believe how their website is still working with thousand of pounds good on it. Its mind blowing how they can still operate the way they run their business.
This company is a total zero.
Would give less than 1 star.
To Hewi team knowledge:as it seems you read this reviews from time to time. I have reported you to police and will spread the words on social media and everywhere I can about your awful practices. The way you treat people is disgrace.

Avoid avoid avoid zero customer service

Items both said never worn but both had clear signs of wear. Also I’m 100% sure they are fakes I’ve Emailed customer service twice and left a message on answer phone as I want to return them I didn’t nearly £1500 on two items not as described can’t get any help from customer service!

Great range of items, terrible customer service

I have bought cloths from HEWI several times in the past without any problems. They have a wide selection of things costing from few tens of £ to few hundreds of thousands of £. Whenever I emailed Customer Services in the past with questions, they always answered quickly. All my past purchases were from the private sellers, except for the last one which was "managed by HEWI". I liked a silk gown costing £1300 but there were no measurements listed and I wanted to make sure that it would fit or could be altered so I have sent two emails asking for measurements. They were completely ignored, which was disappointing, so I called the Customer Services. They were very nice and helpful and emailed me the measurements the same day. I bought the dress and paid on 15 March. Today is 2 April and I still have not received it. I have emailed Customer Services several times asking them to investigate what has happened and where is the dress, but they just reply that Royal Mail sometimes takes a little longer than they should, so could I please wait another 24 hrs. so I wait 2 days or so and I email them again asking what is happening, but again I am told to wait a little longer as Royal Mail may spring into action. They may spring or they may have just lost the dress or sent it to somewhere different, I have no idea, but Customer Services don't seem to be prepared to contact Royal Mail or do anything. Since 27 March they just stopped responding altogether.
I did try to call them but was unlucky as all the lines were busy.
Ignoring a customer and taking 2.5 weeks not to deliver the dress is more of a Customer Dis-service than Service. I still am waiting for my dress

A total scam of a company which is…

A total scam of a company which is happy to take money from buyers, but failing to give it to sellers. I am owed over £1,000 since December and they have ignored requests for payment. I am petitioning for their bankruptcy. If you have monies owed, complete an SD1, send it to them and get in touch with me - more power together.
(I have to give one star to make a comment, btw. This site is obvs zero stars...)

I purchased a Chanel cardigan

I purchased a Chanel cardigan. It took 8 days for item to be shipped out and when I finally received I got a Gucci scarf instead of the item I purchased.
I also paid $350 unexpected duty fee on $1000 item. I ordered from Europe many times before and any duty charges were stated at checkout.

Work on your shipping time frame and better customer representatives


I really wanna like this website because they do have really good inventory. I purchased on the side three times and two out of three shipping took over 10 days when it’s advertised 1-2 business days, very inconsistent with their shipping timeframe, which is really a shame
I’m not sure if they are not employing enough customer service representative to answer emails ,which adds to the frustration/Disappointment about the experience of buying on your site
You need to really do a better job at responding to emails, shipping items within the timeframe

I never got paid for several items that…

I never got paid for several items that I sold through HEWI though in the past they used to be legit. I used to sell a lot through them. They treat sellers horribly...several months and no payments, and it's a large sum of money...will have to find a layers, I'm devastated to be honest.

Never got payed for 2 products I have sold

I have sold an item on HEWI and shipped it to the buyer on 7/7/2023. HEWI never sent me my money at the time. Because it was only around 25£ it slipped my mind at the time. Now I have sold another item and shipped it on 5/2/2025. I have still not received any payment from them and it seems they have no intention of doing so judging from my previous experience. I guess I will have to notify the buyers to return the products.
I have sent at least 10 notices to HEWI and they still have not sent me any payment! Terrible experience. I will be removing all my selling products from their site!
