I have been a customer of HT pawnbroker for years. On Friday the 6th of March 2026 between 1300 and 1345 I walked into on of your retail shops in Standish Wigan to buy some jewellery.

The lady asked me to remove my hat in order to buy the product. I had a surgery and could not remove it. I just replied that I wanted to buy a product.

She then asked the manager and he refused to sell me unless I removed my hat so security cameras can take a photo of my face. I said no they refused to serve me and I left. You can check the cctv.

You cannot assume that customers are criminals once they step into your shops.

That is racism and horrible customer service to customers who want to buy from you,after paying taxes with honest hard working money.

I shop all around London area but never experienced that racist behaviour ever. Quite the opposite staff were really friendly.

I then went to another shop and purchased a product.

If I was the owner of that business I would have sacked those uneducated and low level people.

People buy from,retail,shops for:
Anonymity
Supporting retail business
You can buy cheaper.online by 10percent.

Shame on that shop.

Great customer service from Clare Jones, who explained the process. Weighed the coins and offered a price based on the weight.
Agreed the price and Clare tested for confirmation they were silver. One crown size coin failed the silver process.
Reweighed the coins and offered new price. Agreed and cash paid there and then. No pressure from Clare to purchase throughout the process. Will use again

Visited your Worksop store as I wanted to buy some jewellery. Felt like a nuisance to them as they had to keep getting stuff out of the window as I wanted to see a few things and decide what I was going to buy. Trying to make a conversation and I must say the staff at this store are so miserable could not even put a smile on their face! Just seemed like I disturbed them just sitting out the back and they had to do some work!

I also wanted to look at a chain but no I could not view it as I needed I’d! WTF not everyone carries id on them and most jewellers have a lock on their doors to protect valuables items.

Very hostile environment in there! Customer service is non existent

I went to the other pawnbrokers down the road and the staff in there was very helpful, chatty and helped me decide on my purchase and let me see the items I was interested in buying and locked the door which I fully understand as they have to protect there stock which is a lot more than what I got from H&T.

I will never purchase anything from a shop from miserable staff and can’t be arsed to help you in your purchase. When you are spending a lot of money I WANT TO SEE WHAT I AM PURCHASING!

I did notice H&T are a shop that is dead compared to the other shop I went to. Maybe other customers feel the same as me! I did tell the other store how miserable the staff was in H&T and won’t ever go back in there.

Loved the price I received also great customer service polite staff and very helpful
