The timetable is a joke

The timetable is a joke, buses always late or cancelled. I rely on this service to get me to work. There new single ticket is dearer than other more reliable operators. They take no accountability in running such a shockingly poor service.

Terrible bus service yet again

Yet another bad journey today, from and to Dalton park.
I got to sunderland interchange and the 61 pulled in. The driver said the bus was off and she was taking it to the depot. The lady in front of me tried having a conversation about whether a replacement bus was coming and the female driver said she didn't know. Other passengers waiting hadn't even heard her say it was off.
The X6 came in and left on time. No complaints about punctuality but the bus was filthy inside and out. You literally couldn't see out of the windows for dirt and grime.
For the return journey I checked the journeyplanner and headed to the bus stop in plenty time for the Durham 65.
There was a massive queue and a lady behind me said she thought there'd been an accident which may affect buses.
I'd already let a 61 to sunderland go, and there was no sign of the 65.
It was over 6 minutes past it's scheduled time so I got on the first available bus , which again was the filthy X6.
The morale of my convuluted story is that you should always just get on the first bus that may get you half way to your final destination.
Never expect a go north east bus to be on time or clean.
Buy a day ticket so you can use however many buses it takes to get home.
A car journey from houghton to dalton park takes 15 to 20 minutes. Travelling with go north east this journey can take up to 80 minutes, by the time buses are late or taken off. No wonder people still prefer to use their cars than use this poor bus company.
On the plus side it was sunny and quite mild and I got to see Seaham beach twice today.
I'm just happy I don't have to use Go north east to travel to work. It would be soul destroying having to put up with this service to get to work, and I empathise with anyone who has to.

Go north east needs to find another way to train these bus drivers like not only did it x1 bus not turn up this morning which made me late for my second bus there now putting brand new bus drivers on which is making me more late for work howway go north east sort it out

Should be a zero star rating…

Should be a zero star rating available....joke of a company,x1s just come when they want...no good for work as you can't rely on a bus even turning up,never mind being late,drivers are mostly arrogant,who can't even look at you,never mind speak.there are a few decent drivers but these are few and far between...now we find out the 2 is being withdrawn from shiney row,leaving us with only 1 bus to get to Sunderland,the always late 78,which has earned the son a warning from work this week for being late 3 times this week...do yourselves a favour car owners...stick to the car...

A disgruntled traveller

We were travelling from boldon colliery on Saturday which should have been straightforward but 1st of all the website gave a different time to the menu at the bus stop then when the bus came it was only going to Washington as the bus had broken down, we got there by car
On the way back we planned to get the 50 from the bus station which didn't turn up and we had to ask another driver for information as there was no one from go north east to ask and no information on the information board, we had to get the train back to Newcastle then a metro home arriving very late and cold (I appreciate you can't do anything about the weather) but I feel a better communication and up to date website would help us get around in the future

Horrible company

The last 6 buses i’ve been on have been at least 30 minutes late, haven’t been on an on time bus in years, terrible company and it’s a shame they’re never penalised for it.
They have the cheek to raise prices too as service gets worse!

Buses don't stop at the bus stop

This is the worse bus company I ever used. We signal them at the bus stop and they simply ignore us. Not the 1s, 2nd or even 3rd time this happens. Once I was running with my hand in the air before the bus arrives, I got to the bus stop with the hand in the air, 5 seconds, if not more, before the bus passed and he didn't stop. Happened to me, my partner and some friends. Also, travelled in 2 buses that needed to stop due to mechanical problems, and needed to wait for a replacement. The information inside the buses about the next stop, 50% of the time are disconnected. I use the 21 from Low Fell regularly. The other routes, I can't say if they do the same. Unfortunately the only alternative here is Uber or Bolt. The bus is simply rubbish service.

My granddaughter got on the 2a this morning as she had an appointment in Washington,The driver neglected to tell her the bus route had been redirected to Silksworth,why we don't know.Your bus service is terrible and some of your drivers are very rude.

Not worth the bus pass.

These buses are always too full. It's ridiculous, how many times I've had to find a bit of space, to stand up, on these overcrowded buses. Not worth it.

Pay extra £1727363 for a taxi

Got the x1 galleries to Newcastle as I needed to be at the rvi for my daughter’s appointment. There card machine was down tried 4 times and didn’t work so he said we would have to get off find an atm machine get cash and get the next bus! Bering in mind I was already panicking I was going to be late as the bus was also late! He was a horrible rude man. So in last attempt I tried my Apple Pay on my phone and it went through! Not many people carry cash these days!

X78 to Eldon Square

X78 to Eldon Square. Has to be the worst service ever. Bus outbound wasn't on time. After 20 minutes of being late, I gave up on got a lift to the metro. Wasn't much better. Journey back from town was way off time. What is the point of a timetable? Useless service.

Customer service is appalling i was told the bus was at the Town Hall which was where I was
When i told them this they said oh no he's 10 minutes away 20 minutes later the bus turned up

I'm absolutely disgusted at the…

I'm absolutely disgusted at the behaviour of the bus driver on the 09/11/24 14:17 number 4. I got on the bus at Concord where I was letting people off but I was blocking part of the way because of the area my crutches needed. I then moved on the bus and stood sideways so people could get past better. I was already feeling anxious as I don't normally use a bus because of my mental health. I thought I would give it a try as was only going down the road! What an absolute mistake that was! the way I was talked to and made to feel was disgusting everyone was looking like my worst nightmare! Well I just wish this Man who after I took pictures of him and the bus so I could report him shouted more abuse took one minute to think how somebody who just wanted to get a bus home how has now been affected because of his behaviour!! His job is to make people feel safe and have a kind word! it could of made a world of difference to me and my confidence and many other venerable people. I hope one day he realises what a difference he could make with a bit kindness and thoughtfulness!!

I absolutely hate this company and all…

I absolutely hate this company and all the staff working for it because they are doing such a terrible job. The buses are just not showing up, over full, turning up an hour or two late. The whole company in the North East is a disgrace. Then the staff have a cheek to go on strike for a pay rise leaving us with no buses at all. It's a complete and utter load of dogs poop. I would like to see the council and UK government take control of our buses and get rid of these private companies. The private companies only run the service to make their £££ and don't really care about our communities. Their not from here, they're some European company and just here as long as the profits keep improving.

Rarely on time

Rarely on time. Usually 15-30 mins late, 10 mins early, or don’t even show up at all! Your service is part of the reason why I’m learning to drive. It’s a shame cause there’s great potential in this service. The fees are great but you guys just aren’t punctual. Please improve for the good of everyone!
