This site is more worse than house swapper!!! I wanted a bungalow or a detached house with 1 bedroom which I stated clearly in my ad and all I get is idiots living in flats wanting to swap!!! I stated clearly I don't want a flat!!! Plus they want money for a swap!!! Proper depressing!!! I wouldn't use this site or any other house swapping site as it will take forever to find a swap you want!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Glass Bob is pointless Do not waste your money. Its worse than homeswapper. You messaged by a 1 bed flat in Scotland asking to swap but your add clearly states need a 4 to 5 bed home in Ashford kent. You reply sorry no thank you wrong area to then get angry message about being against flats !! Or you get ghosted its so much worse than homeswapper and I advise you to keep your money i know its hard you need to exchange but this is not worth it. I gave it 6 months. Oh and cancel at any point nope I had to wait despite deleting my account

I am not expecting a house exchange site to deliver an exchange for me obviously and they also can’t be totally responsible for the kind of advertisers they attract……..although there is a saying about like attracting like…….
It is a very basic and unattractive site that is grimy and bumpy to use.
My complaint issue with them is they somehow set up a paying subscription through my PayPal site, which I had not set up and did not click to pay. Highly suspicious………They then insisted I must have early onset of Alzheimer’s to not remember that I had set up a paying monthly subscription.
They did refund the payment as a ‘goodwill gesture’ after I complained to Paypal who agreed the whole thing was highly suspicious and I should delete the account which I did, the whole experience has left a nasty taste in the mouth.

I’m a paid member and can’t send or receive any msgs as their website is awful and won’t let me verify my email address. I have tried using a different one etc, They don’t respond to any emails or msgs, messaged them on social media and they are no help. Don’t pay use homeswapper or Facebook instead.

Ive swapped twice using Glassbob as an English people i am very grateful for social housing. Seeing so many ungrateful reviews here from unusual names just reminds me why we are in this mess of a housing crisis. My children wont be given social housing and our elderly are on the streets so interesting to see people moaning and complaining about being given a house! Swapping takes effort you need to get all your repairs done and decorating is essential. The bad reviews are from the usual suspects contribute nothing and complaining about everything.

It seems they rely on this tactic so that subscribers continue receiving messages and therefore remain subscribed. If users stop receiving messages, they are likely to leave. This process effectively verifies users, because if someone is eligible, their council covers their subscription. Council property swapping requires eligibility because it's a process through them to complete officially. You may want to look into how these platforms manage this system for further insight.

Suggestion:
If your intention is to genuinely support people looking to swap and still run a profitable service, consider allowing users to communicate for free at the start. Once two users agree to pursue a swap, you could introduce a “Swapping Officer” who manages the case through to completion. At that stage, you can charge both parties a Fee/Service Charge. People are willing to pay more than a standard subscription if they feel there is a real chance of a successful swap. This approach prioritises transparency and increases trust, while still generating revenue. It's one of the many solutions.

No problem with the site itself but there is too many who are not serious and do not reply to messages even when they have sent you one first.
Would be much better site if wasnt full of timewasters.

The site itself is good it's just the 70% that spoil it for genuine house exchange finders.

Glassbob needs a serious update. The website is a paid service, yet the multi-swap “search tool” is not accurately matching people’s preferred locations, which makes it a waste of both money and time. Additionally, members who do not respond to messages should be automatically removed, as this is also a waste of time for active users.

Please consider implementing these changes and updating the terms and conditions to improve the service.

Ive swapped twice using this app as I couldn't find a direct swap to my chosen area. Unfortunately you match with people who dont want your city so they need to fix that when searching. Its worth the hard work and it does work if you are serious.

This site is being used by scammers.
, I text message someone my phone wouldn't send it as it wasn't a a secure number. I google the phone number and it said wouldn't show content as the ñumber is connected to sexual assault and violence.

I found one of the exchanger putting a fake address under the pictures of his house in glass bob, and when I filed a complaint against this mutual, the glass bob management did not take any action against him, and if it was a warning for this, I cancelled my participation in this site, and please be careful because there are tresiders.

I will say what I think these companies are all there to make money out of their customers so the longer you don’t find a house the longer years you will keep paying so it’s up to a person to stay or leave with in 12 months but to my opinion is a gamble all I can say Glassbob is one of the worst I have paid years and every years it’s £16 that’s goes to the drain for nothing at all and the site it’s self is an absolute crap if I may say and that is the truth and people need to get out of it and find better site to do home swap definitely glassbob I’d not the one you will succeed on it trust me it’s a waste of of your money time get out while it’s time before you get stress

Glass Bob website is actually very good. Most of the reviews are written by people who aren't happy because they haven't found a match. That's down to the people registered on the site, not the site itself. As many have said, people don't bother opening their messages much less respond. This is down to individuals, not Glass Bob site

This is such a bad website, either people do not respond or even bother to open messages. It has become completely unusable and useless as you can’t message without a subscription. Horrible website.

I moved once 9 years ago, it does happen, I don’t know what’s with all the shit reviews tbh. People stating “if they bought the property they wouldn’t be on it” obviously, it’s housing exchange not an estate agent 🙄
I want to move out of London and have lots of interest, but I want my own garden- the people messaging haven’t got that- it’s all highrise 🤣
Btw I gave up a house with its own garden to move into a flat with cheaper rent. It does happen you just have to be very persistent.

Honestly, it’s not worth the subscription. I’ve been on glassBob since 2021 I think a lot of people like the idea of moving but they have no intentions of moving at all. Messages get ignored. a lot of Time Wasters on there. And so many people sitting in houses that have RTB and yet none of them have bought them. They can be quite hostile, if they bought the property they would not be on glass Bob. And this is what I mean There’s a lot of time wasters on there. I really want to move this year which means I may need to join other sites and maybe put adverts out.

So many tenants stay in homes they've outgrown or are miles away from work or family, trapped by the complete lack of affordable alternatives. The housing crisis is the reason, but knowing that doesn't help. These "swap" sites where barely anyone exchanges, are making money from that desperation. It's all really depressing.

Totally useless no one ever replies to messages when you have a home exactly as they want but never get back to you .not worth paying the fees
