Disappointing
I've bought from Finisterre a few times, and everything always arrives well packaged. I ordered the Yarrel jeans from the sale. They arrived today in a right state. The packaging inside was a well-battered and the jeans didn't even have the labels attached. Very disappointing, more like something that arrives from vinted.

Don't hold your breath for a refund. Useless.
Quality is fine. However you try and speak to somebody. I returned one item over a month ago. They confirmed it back and stated they will refund. 1 month later I am still struggling to get my money back. They say it is busy! then they say they will flag it to management. I don't get a response so i chase again. I still do not get a refund and then they say they will check with royal mail ( even though they sent an email saying they have it back).
Useless customer service as you cannot get through on the phone either unless you want to buy something.
Above and Beyond
My wife and I have long been fans of Finisterre's products: she loves the long lasting quality, fit and warmth of their clothing, whilst I (too fat to squeeze into their men's clothing sizes) delight in their woollen socks for all-year-round wear. Buying a Lapwing Jacket for my wife online recently, I could not get a discount voucher (which Finisterre had sent me) to work. I messaged customer service, who quickly responded with a straightforward solution involving buying the jacket at full price and being refunded the discounted amount. I did so, and - at 8:40 pm (they're supposed to close at 5 pm!) - received an email from Jack at customer service to let me know that the refund had been made (I checked; it had). He also offered a glimmer of hope that they might before long be expanding the range of available sizes to accommodate fat slobs like me - although Jack was far too polite to put it that way; thanks, Jack! Joking aside; this encapsulates what we like about Finisterre. They go above and beyond run-of-the-mill outfitters in the quality of their products and their customer service.
Never have the size I want
Never have the size I want. Trying to buy a jacket, and they have 1 in my size, out of range of maybe 15 or so. How on earth do they expect to sell stuff if they never have anything in standard sizes? It's nearly always xs or XXL that's available. No use to anyone. Also their sales are rubbish, it's only ever the items that are in xs or XXL as well, so no use to 95% of the country.

I ordered several pairs of socks as a gift for Christmas. There was a problem with the sizing that were sent. I sent an e mail explaining my issue.
The customer service received was superb. Very quick response. Issue resolved. I would highly recommend their products. I’ve never had any issues before but the customer service was amazing.

Sustainability in action – incredible service!
I’ve been a fan of Finisterre for a while, but their commitment to their "Built to Last" promise is the real deal. After the lining on my 2023 Rainbird jacket started to peel, I reached out to their customer service team.
Sophie was absolutely brilliant—friendly, fast, and genuinely helpful. Instead of the jacket heading to a landfill, they arranged for it to be returned via Reskinned for recycling and sent me a beautiful Skybird replacement in Buckwheat.
It’s rare to find a brand that combines high-performance gear for an outdoors lifestyle with such authentic integrity. My brother-in-law has been their #1 advocate for years, and now I’m right there with him. Highly recommended!
Rapport qualité/prix injustifiable et éthique discutable
Je suis extrêmement déçu par mon expérience avec la marque Finisterre. Pour un pull affiché à 180 €, on s'attend à une qualité irréprochable et une transparence totale. Or, le constat est amer :
Production incohérente : Quelle n'a pas été ma surprise de découvrir que le pull est fabriqué en Chine. Quel est l'intérêt écologique de sourcer de la laine en Europe pour l'envoyer à l'autre bout du monde avant de la rapatrier les produits en Europe ? On est loin de la promesse de durabilité affichée.
Logistique défaillante : Le guide des tailles est peu fiable, ce qui rend l'achat risqué. Risque d'autant plus grand que les retours sont payants et coûtent une fortune (plus de 25 € pour un renvoi).
En résumé, c'est une marque "vitrine" avec une pseudo éthique pour au final des produits chinois dont le coût de production est surement bien loin des prix pratiqués. La marque était peut être cohérente il y a quelques années mais aujourd'hui passez votre chemin.

Excellent customer service (from Milan) who supported me with personalised and detailed guidance regarding sizes and models. I was ordering from the other side of the world and so didn’t want to be dealing with returning items because they didn’t fit. Product is great - Long Jane wetsuit perfect for diving in tropical waters.

Excellent service from Finisterre. After my waterproof jacket unfortunately perished inside after 2 years of use, I got in touch asking about their repair service. Whilst ideally I’d have liked the item repaired, they instead offered me a new replacement in my choice of colour. As a customer I felt valued - so top marks to Finisterre.
Exceptional
I have always rated Finisterre as a brand, and this experience reinforced why. I had an issue with sizing consistency on a Barents jumper, where two jumpers of the same model and size fitted noticeably differently. I raised it with customer services, provided photos, and the team dealt with it promptly, professionally, and without fuss.
They acknowledged the issue, arranged a free return using a simple Royal Mail QR code, and immediately organised a replacement in the correct size. Communication was clear throughout, and the tone was genuinely customer-focused rather than defensive.
Issues can happen with any clothing brand, but how they are handled matters. Finisterre handled this properly, quickly, and fairly. It is exactly the sort of service that builds long-term trust, and I will happily continue buying from them.

Amazing service to fix broken zip puller
My zip puller broke on my raincoat and I contacted customer service. They quickly offered me three options, one of which was a free repair.
I popped into the London store on Neal St and the the most wonderful Ruth fixed it there an then. It took less than 5 minutes.
I'm so grateful for the rapid and simple way Finisterre has handled this. Amazing service.
