Gigantic additional costs

We are disappointed because when we have reserved, the details of the paiement weren't clear enough : we paid 200€ of fees to Erasmusu, but about 1000€ to the owner of the room justified by : "delivery of keys and administrative management of contracts".
So it's about 1200€ of additional fees just to manage contracts.
Furthemore, we do not have access to the conditions for canceling the contract.

Longs délais et aucune information

J’ai fait une demande de réservation pour une période de 4 mois à Madrid à laquelle j’aurais du avoir une réponse au bout de 24h selon le site. Cela fait maintenant 3 jours que je suis sans réponse du propriétaire mais bon libre à lui de ne pas me répondre, j’ai donc décidé d’avoir plus d’information auprès du service client d’erasmusu, cela fait deux jours que je suis également sans réponse de leur part. C’est tout de même là mon logement pour poursuivre mes études qui est en jeu.

Ho prenotato una stanza tramite questo sito, pagando più di 700 euro (che corrispondeva al mese di Novembre e altro), e una volta arrivata ho dovuto ripagare il mese nella segreteria della residenza (la struttura ospitante non è a conoscenza del mio pagamento precedente, ciò significa che i miei 700 euro sono andati al sito Erasmusu senza autorizzazione).
Rivoglio indietro i miei soldi!! Vi denuncio!!

Easy to book, too easy?

Very easy to book, with good information. Not a fan of having to book and if owner says yes you are in the contract already. I would like the possibility to talk to the owner first.

Erasmus Accommodation Hell!

I wanted to rent a apartment for my uni year abroad so I used ErasmusU's Service, thinking everything there would be suitable for a international student. When I got to the flat-share that I booked, it was absolutely disgusting, there was literally poo on the bathroom walls. The whole place made me want to get sick. The landlord refused to acknowledge that the flat was minging. Whats more, the bed room window was broken and there were no locks on the doors!... oh and he wanted me to pay a huge safety deposit not mentioned on the website. This was of course not mentioned in the advertisement. I contacted Erasmusu/SpotAHome with a couple of hours, and sent them photographs of the apartment. Over the next couple of days, they responded that an unclean apartment (even poo and mould) was not a good enough reason for cancelling a booking! They said they would refund me only part of the pre-paid rent and keep all of their 150 euro fee. Obviously I had to go and find a hotel at last minute after already traveling 9 hours that day.

I spent the week trying to find new accomodation at super short notice. Literally the worst week of my life. I had to catch a flight at the end of week, and I was so stressed and exhausted, that even though I arrived at the airport 3 hours early, I missed my flight, and had to buy a last minute flight with a 7 hour lay-over in Paris.

While it seems weird to mention about the flight in this review, my point is if you want to keep any last drop of sanity, DO NOT USE ERASMUSU or its affiliate SpotAHome.

Im still so annoyed that they took the booking money, when they did nothing but deceive me - fummming, im still fummming at them - greedy little buggers.

They only ever offered me a coupon code in lew of my booking fee. Imagine! like I'd want to willingly defraud myself!

And, I imagine I'll get a little empty response from them here, but my answer is: say you'll refund me all the money you took from me. Then we can talk.

J'ai eu un soucis avec un propriétaire…

J'ai eu un soucis avec un propriétaire inscrit entre autre sur ce site. Il est avéré que ce propriétaire est connu en Espagne pour arnaquer les étudiants qu'il héberge. J'ai signalé les nombreux problèmes au site. Ils ne peuvent rien faire, même pas une sanction contre ce propriétaire sur leur site. Après avoir payé 150€ de frais de site, je trouve ça honteux de ne pas pouvoir être assuré et protégé contre les propriétaires frauduleux. Je ne recommande absolument pas ce site de réservation.

Tout d'abord, merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire. Nous venons de vérifier le processus de réservation avec le Département et nous savons que les agents ont enquêté et géré la réservation après votre départ. Malheureusement, il semble que l'appartement ait été endommagé et c'est pourquoi le propriétaire a dû retenir une partie de la caution. Nous savons qu'il s'agit d'une situation compliquée, que de nombreuses personnes vivent dans l'appartement et que tout le monde n'est pas également responsable des dommages, mais Erasmusu n'a aucun pouvoir dans ce type d'incident et le propriétaire ne peut pas savoir avec certitude qui est réellement responsable.
Nous considérons qu'il est approprié de gérer l'incident avec les locataires impliqués dans les dommages de l'appartement et la chose la plus correcte à faire est que celui qui a fait les dégâts, assume cette responsabilité.
Nous travaillons avec le propriétaire depuis de nombreuses années, son appartement est vérifié et nous sommes désolés que dans ce cas vous n'ayez pas eu une bonne expérience. Nous faisons de notre mieux pour aider tous les étudiants et nous espérons que vous pourrez reconsidérer ces mots.
Selon les conditions d'utilisation, lues et acceptées avant la réservation, Erasmusu ne peut appliquer aucune action de pondération sur la caution ou les dommages qui se produisent dans l'appartement pendant le séjour, pour les réservations gérées avant mai 2022.

devolucion deL pago

buenas estoy tratando de hacer una reclamacion para la devolucion de mi dinero y no he podido contactarme con ustedes por ningun medio, los llame el 1 de noviembre que era el dia de mi check in para estoi, me contestaron y no he vuelto a saber de ustedes lles agradezco una pronto respuesta

Piso

Acabo de reservar un piso para irme de erasmus. La verdad es que esta muy bien de precio, incluye gastos, ha sido rápido, intuitivo, etc. Desde luego no me sabe mal pagar la comisión de Erasmusu.Todavía no he ido a piso así que no sé si habrá algún problema en el futuro, pero de momento no parece y voy con la seguridad de que hayan grabado un vídeo para que vea cómo es la casa realmente.

Very happy with the service

For me the service with Erasmusu was a 10. I haven’t arrived to my appartment yet but they help me a lot with the booking. At first I was reclined for a bedroom and they gave me other options with similar caracteristics. At the end I was accepted in another one and had a problem with the payment and they help me solve it, for me 5 stars.

Overall pleasant experience, but there is room for improvement.

Overall, I would say my experience with the website and Erasmusu has been pleasant. Eventhough, I managed to find a place to stay, which I am grateful for, I did find difficultly dealing with Spot A Home and the landlord. It seems as though they act as separate entities completely. This meant I had to act as liason. I believe Spot A Home has a policy in which they cannot speak to a landlord directly in some cases. I do not know the policy exactly. But, it did feel frustrating at times. Perhaps if Erasmusu, had a sort of chatting platform on the website, where all three parties can talk together at once. This would protect all parties and prevent confusion.This is just a suggestion. I imagine it is difficult to offer such a service where so many are involved. In any case, I am happy with the room, the landlord, and the help I received from Spot A Home.
