Potential ECWID Lightspeed plugin compatibility issues with Dreamhost hosting
If your planning to utilize Dreamhost hosting service , be aware that the ECWID Lightspeed E-commerce plugin they link to utilize to build your site appears to have compatibility problems . On my Dreamhost website, the Store was setup my Dreamhost using the ECWID plugin and it worked for a short period and then the ECWID dashboard would not work within the Dreamhost WordPress wp-admin interface and now I have to separately access my Store product settings directly through my ECWID account. I turned this issue over to Dreamhost to resolve and nothing they did fixed the problem and they told me to talk to ECWID Lightspeed support and I did. I gave ECWID Lightspeed administrator level access to my site for 3 weeks at their request with no solutions provided by them other than Dreamhost needs to resolve. So as a customer for both Dreamhost and ECWID Lightspeed, the issue remains unresolved and both sides are treating this issue like a "Hot Potato" will neither party accepting responsibility to resolve it. So customer BEWARE there appears to be compatibility problems here. ECWID support stated that Dreamhost support which built the site left a developer ID in my Store configuration in addition to the correct registered Store ID for my site . Neither party is sure where this is what is causing my ECWID dashboard access problem, it's a figure pointing issue between each party which tells me their are most likely inherent compatibility issues, not saying this will happen to you if you use ECWID Lightspeed E-commerce plugin within Dreamhost but I don't think I am alone here.
I still rated Dreamhost very high in a separate Trustpilot review because I believe this is ECWID Lightspeed issue and they don't want to attend to it. Dreamhost continues to use their plugin and I think all potential customers should be aware so you raise the issue upfront to them if you choose to go down the path I chose. Hope you find this valuable!

I've used ECWID for 10+ years...no more!
I've used ECWID for 10+ years. They were good and reliable...and then Lightspeed took over.
Since then, it's been problem after problem after problem.
- Poor performance.
- Broken elements without me knowing.
- Their staff accessing my site's payment settings and changing them without my permission.
- Extensive downtime.
- Pages not loading.
- MASSIVE price increase.
But what just did it for me is noticing they've now plastered a "Powered by Lightspeed" logo on ALL my product pages!!! WHAT? They didn't tell or ask me!!!!!
I'm furious about this.
I'll be speaking with them tomorrow to discuss how they think this is acceptable.
Discount system broken for months
This shopping cart has no option to prevent customers from using discount codes on top of other promotions. For example, if you run a Black Friday or Boxing Day sale, and you have given out coupon codes, customers can use the coupon code on top of the seasonal promotion, and there is no setting to prevent them doing so.
This is incredibly dumb, the option to prevent discount codes stacking with other discounts is a basic feature of every shopping cart. To not have this option effectively makes the discounts system useless, or you have to accept that customers will double up on discounts.
We reported this months ago, and customer support response is still that they are awaiting interest from other customers to see if it needs implementing. I am absolutely certain that every Ecwid customer who uses discount codes and seasonal promotions will want this option implementing, most probably aren't even aware that their customers can double up on both discoutns at once, because not being able to do so it the norm.

4. Hätten wir aktuell die Ressourcen, würden wir direkt zu WooCommerce wechseln. Da stimmt das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis wenigstens.
Fazit: Die Umgangsweise lässt Tiefblicken und ist eine absolute Frechheit für einen langjährigen Kunden.

Issues working with the plugin in ecwid - continually failing making with time consuming issues with small product links with blogs and ecwid - broken links - constantly being emailed by fasthost and google with issues about links that have been broken with ecwid. Only 12 months ago was £30ish per month continually going up in price and now a massive £55 and it does not work properly!!!!! Time consuming for small businesses constantly having to address issues. Recently I got messages constantly with security risks on the plugin on my site. All of their making - taking up all of my time. AVOID

This review is about their CS. I tried Ecwid a year or so ago, but I ultimately didn't use it. I was charged this morning for a whole year ($300) and panicked, as I didn't remember having an account with them or ever using their service (I had never set it up when I tried it). I wrote customer service asking if I could at least get my account cancelled, since I couldn't figure out what email I used, but I wasn't thrilled I was charged for a full year when I didn't think I used their service. The CS team (his name was Wade, just to call him out for what a good job he did), wrote back promptly, refunded me, and cancelled the subscription. I love companies that aren't jerks to their customers and are prompt and considerate when these sorts of things happen. I didn't use their service, but I would come back in the future just for this customer service alone. It is 100% the way to be. Thank you so much for being an honest and genuine company. I recommend them for this alone.

Ecwid does not offer the simple ability to authorize a transaction for later capture or void. This is very important because more and more payment processing companies including PayPal do not refund transactions fees which is about 3% so if you have an order cancelled for any reason you lose the transaction fee for that amount since you don’t have the ability to simply void that transaction. This feature is offered for free with all other major site builders including shopify, Bigcommerce and etc

Avoid ECWID for ticket selling - not fit for purpose
I'm sure it works ok for selling physical product but it has a major flaw - it can't sell tickets for events, except one at a time. (User buys two tickets, gets one PDF - no way to provide two, or however many). Yes there is a huge manual workaround incliuding capturing names and manually generating individual tickets. But it's NOT a proper solution to issuing tickets. Their marketing BS claims it can be used for this, but not without huge manual workarounds like manually generating every ticket with a barcode one at a time at a computer, or requiring users to print off the order, which is not a ticket (and in which case, what on earth is the PDF for?)

Ecwid Held My Funds Hostage, Ignored My Refund Requests & Damaged My Business
I changed my website name months ago, and Ecwid never informed me it would be an issue. When I started actively marketing and made a sale, they held my customer’s payment hostage while still taking their percentage. I had to chase them to find out why my funds were blocked.
Despite explaining that I needed two weeks to fulfill the order (which they could clearly see), Ecwid ignored my refund requests. Instead, they delayed the funds until only 3 days remained, leaving me with no time to order raw materials from overseas. This left my customer thinking I was just inefficient, damaging my business credibility.
When I asked again for a refund, Ecwid completely ignored my messages and even marked my complaint as “solved” without responding!
Ecwid’s actions were unprofessional, deceptive, and damaging to my brand. Avoid them at all costs if you care about your business reputation and want efficient and effective customer service.
