Unresolved Vehicle Issue (Case Ticket ID: 31609)

Since December 2024 I am chasing my lost vehicle and I was advised after few hundred of calls and messages finally they gave me confirmation that the insurance company will pay out. It was march 2025, however I am still trying to get a response from drive mate. This is looks like a biggest SCMA ever. How come an insurance Company takes few months to finalize the claim.

This is what I received from Drive mate last time.

The settlement was approved I will now make a request to process the total settlement amount: $16,250 As discussed the amount may take a while to be paid but we appreciate your patience, you may receive a call from time to time from our insurer. I applied to register with Drive Mate over 36 hours ago, but the verification was still under review. I messaged customer support via the App a few times and telephoned a couple of times to no avail.

The latest messaging was first answered by one Mary. After trying helpfully she then passed it on to the techie TRIXIE.

Trixie worked with me for nearly 25 minutes and got my account fully working. And I was able to complete the transaction that I needed very badly.

Absolute garbage company. Hired once, went fine. Then next time they tell me my verification is denied and I can no longer use this service. They won't tell me why, or even let met re-apply again. Appalling.

Don't ever hire vehicles from these bunch of scammers. I booked a van and paid deposit and advance charges but the guy cancelled tha van when I was about to pick up the van. Today is already 15 days and still waiting the refund.

I've been trying to open an account, Jeremy kindly helped me through the process bit unfortunately there is an issue uploading my driver's licence so until I will get a new one it's not possible for me to complete the verification to open an account. Thank ypu Jeremy i appreciated your help.

Steals your data, rejects you for no reason -

I have no criminal history, 10 + years of clean driving, good credit, and was previously a member of Car Next Door and UberCarshare.

Drive mate is a joke of a company, using AI to reject honest hard working people and then collating and selling your data to third parties (which they will not disclose or tell you about)

They also say they are "australian owned" which is a bold faced lie. They are Singaporean owned.

Run for the hills from these scam artists ASAP

EDIT: I have reported the multiple fake reviews on this page. Very obvious patterns emerging: 5* reviews only ever have 1 review, always mention the name, and appears in broken English? Can't be real.

So, I think that's a wrap.
1* - privacy and confidentiality
1* - customer service
1* - faking reviews (most of the genuine ones are 1*)
1* - onboarding

The rest I never got to, but as you can tell from other real experiences, you are probably best off anywhere else.

First time I used the app, not super immediate the way to pick up and drop off.
We had some problem but the assistance (Rhea) was super helpful.

Update: the day after company charged me extra fare for the late return and inconvenience although I returned the car two hours before. I opened the ticket but so far no news and update about the reimbursement

Amber was incredibly efficient in helping rectify an error which occurred during an online car hire extension, she fixed the problem up straight away which was great! Very helpful :)

Hired a car through this lot. An absolute disgrace and nightmare to deal with. 2nd day into the hire, extended the hire. Later that afternoon, informed them of the ant infestation issue in car. Requested for a replacement car or refund to the extension. No answer for couple days. Finally a response on 4th day, I got told no refund allowed for extension. It was THEIR no refund policy! I spoke with owner of car, he was empathetic and told us to return car and he will get it detailed and cleaned. And that we are entitled to a refund, it would just take up to 30 days to get it, sometimes longer. Drive mate told me, return car early still no refund!!! We paid $394 to book & hire a new car, but couldn't pick up because we had to pay invoice off for the ant infested car. I originally hired the car to transport my grandchildren to school and back home which is a 10km trip each way, 5 days a week. But I couldn't have the kids in the car because the ants kept returning. I informed Drivemate about the ants biting my grandchildren, they showed no compassion and their response was more or less, telling me to suck it up and that there was nothing they were going to do, to compensate for the inconvenience. So we lost the $394 for the 2nd car we booked, but wasnt abke to drive. And they want me to pay $608 on top for the ant infested car! Explained to them that because they wouldn't provide me a replacement car, I was not going to drive the car with my grandkids in it only to be bitten by the thousands of ants! And had to swap car for my adult daughter to use. I didn't want to do this because I knew her job was 40km each way there and back home. And I told this to drive mate. But still NO help. All they kept replying back with was, we understand!! How else was I expected to get my grandkids to school? In their ant infested rental?? Absolutely NOT!! I would NEVER recommend this lot to anyone else! They are an absolute rip off. There is NOTHING cheap about their service!! FALSE advertising about being the cheapest way to rent cars! HATED this experience. Never had an issue when it was once called Car Next Door. Also there were a couple of days we could not go anywhere, because the app crashed nation wide, which meant we couldn't unlock the car with app being down. A physical key was not left in car for us. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I have emailed multiple and numerous times along with the booking reference number for almost 2 months going back and forth, only for you lot demanding I pay the $608.85 on top of the $394 you didn't refund me for the car we never picked up!!!! It's so exhausting!!!

Remove my car from listing.
Claim raised in Jan was never actioned and now marked as resolved giving new policy excuse.
Can't afford to bear loss.

It's better to sell out my spare car rather than headach of drivemate.

Instead of earning $20, I repaired the car visiting $1038 .

In 2 months my car has ran for 6000km in 1 booking...i thought i will get some money but..with low Tyre pressure, inside badly used, 7 to 8 scratch which are less than 7.5cm ( drivemate policy to consider scratch above 7.5cm, so user can give 100s of 1 cm scartches---- such a weared policy)...and need to shoot 100s of followers mail with no action.

Even emailing the founder Gaurav is of no use as he himself knows that he pays less to his team...so he need to run the business like this.

The website and app have a few crevices that need closing, eg, I uploaded my passport instead of DL and instead of just hitting a re-upload button or similar, I had to do this manually through the call centre. Emmanuel our customer service rep was friendly, funny and patient. He stepped me through multiple processes over the phone, never becoming hurried even though it took quite a while. He was personable and in the moments of waiting between steps, he set me at ease with friendly conversation. Thank you for your help!
