All trips on Drive mate are insured through our insurance partner - Allianz & GT Insurance. The idea is simple: car ownership is expensive in Singapore (per month yet only use the car 5% of the time – cars are mostly parked. With Drive mate you can reduce the cost of ownership by renting it out when you don’t need it in a safe way. Renters can rent those cars when they are not used by their owners at good value. If I could give them less than 1 star I…

If I could give them less than 1 star I would - they don’t pay their debts - we are a small family business who repaired a car on their behalf. They have not paid us months after the work was completed and are almost impossible to communicate with. Even big insurance companies pay us within a week or two so not sure why they are being so difficult.

The verification process

The verification process needs to be improved significantly. After sending the documents five times, I wrote to the chat service, very annoyed, and Jeremi fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. Let's hope that the experience of renting the car is better than the verification process.

AVOID this Car Rental Company...Just a SCAM !!

ZERO Stars !!, Just like many other frustrated customers have suggested !! ... I wish I'd checked reviews before dealing with this Car Rental SCAM !! ... It's over 3 & a half weeks since lodging a Refund for Returning my rental car 1 Day Early... Add to that frustration, the car floors were covered in sand and glitter, PLUS I properly cleaned the vehicle before I returned the vehicle with No thanks at all !!... The Online Help(?) is little more than insulting cut and paste "we are so sorry'' replies... It's time the ACCC got involved and permanently shut down this SHAM of a business !!... Let me also add that the car was advertised as only $20 per day, HOWEVER after all the booking fees and additional charges were added at the Checkout !! it amounted to $31 per day PLUS 35 cents per kilometre, so that works out to $66 per day for 100km's !!...and that's for a 15 year old car !!...As a comparison, Bayswater Car Hire have current vehicles available for $35 per day Including 100kms !!

STAY AWAY!!!!!

STAY AWAY!!!!!! Awful service, got sent a ticket from week after using the rental vehicle falsely nominated by owner and they won't do anything about it. Disgusting scammers. Never again, stay away

Impeccable service provided by JEREMY. The process and requirements were clearly explained with genuine care and consideration by JEREMY.
Very lucky organisation to have someone on board representing it so professionally and personably. Five stars out of five for JEREMY.

Impossible to sign up

Impossible to sign up and any issues with uploading documents isn’t detailed so I had no idea what the problem was. Support was quick to come back but unable to help or provide guidance other than log out and back in.

Poor verification process. Requires Credit check

Poor and slow verification process, I ended up abandoning the verification after day 3. They wanted to perform a credit check to rent a car even as they already had my credit card, photos of drivers license, home address and personal photos. It’s excessive to have a hit on the credit report for couple day’s rental. It’s not an ongoing arrangement like utilities. It would be much preferable if they put a hold of $5,000 on my credit card for each booking. On the upside, the support was prompt. Near instant. I’d stick to proper car rental companies who have figured out how to make it easy to rent.

I hire a van/car

I hire a van/car. Funds was taken immediately upon confirmation. We booked at 6.30pm for 10pm pick up but when we get there, the lockbox could not open and they is error on the lockbox. The customer service on the phone was very impatient and keep asking me to chat online. I was at the car for almost 1-1/2hrs trying to unlock the lockbox
Eventually they says that they will give us a refund but only after 7 working days. Why should they hold my money when they have not provided me with any services? This is not acceptable. If service is not tender refund should be immediate
