I have used Cupra financial services for my last 2 personal lease plans and the process is efficient and competitive

Effective efficient service with just the right level of information requested and given should queries arise. Slight concern on ending of contract process in respect of payments and refunds but early days so not concerned (yet)

Having worked in financial services for over 30 years, primarily in Toyota and Ford asset finance, I have a good understanding of how vehicle finance and leasing companies should operate. Unfortunately, my experience with Volkswagen Financial Services has been appalling.

The vehicles themselves are excellent, and the initial finance arrangements were fine. Everything that followed was a disaster.

Firstly, the delivery. My vehicle was delayed and eventually arrived in early January, following three failed delivery attempts. As a contractor, I had to take time off work on three separate occasions to accommodate these arrangements. There was no compensation, no meaningful apology and seemingly no concern about the inconvenience or financial impact.

**Then came the repair nightmare.** An accidental spillage in the boot resulted in a repair issue. We had taken out additional accident cover, which we reasonably expected would provide protection in precisely these circumstances. However, the claim was refused.

The vehicle then took over two months to repair, with little or no meaningful assistance throughout. No replacement vehicle was available, leaving us without transport and with virtually no support.

To add insult to injury, I fully expect VWFS will still insist on collecting the vehicle on the original lease end date in November, despite the initial delivery delays and the considerable period during which we were unable to use it. I have seen absolutely no indication of any willingness to offer compensation or flexibility.

Having spent three decades in the finance industry, I find this standard of customer service astonishing. A finance company's responsibility should not end when the agreement is signed. Customers deserve support when things go wrong.

**My conclusion: nice cars, terrible service, no meaningful customer care and absolutely no flexibility when a lease goes wrong.**

VWFS may be efficient at arranging finance and collecting payments, but when customers actually need help, my experience suggests they are nowhere to be found.

Absolutely shocking start to owning a brand-new CUPRA Formentor. Delivered with just 5 miles on the clock, it broke down after I'd driven only 15 miles, displaying a “Power system failure” warning and leaving me stranded.

After hours of phone calls, recovery arrangements, missed work and days without a car, the garage discovered the problem: it had simply run out of fuel! Despite the dashboard still showing around 35 miles of range.

How tight-fisted do you have to be to supply a £30,000+ car with barely enough fuel to get it home?

To top it off, the garage charged me £10 for the fuel needed to get it running again.

Embarrassing penny-pinching and utterly unacceptable customer service.

Very poor communications with emails unanswered and no help on the phone from customer service. I had a major problem with this company when my lease ended, they neglected to close my account and so they subsequently have tried to take further monthly payments. This was despite the car having been already collected by their collections department which customer service seemed unaware of. Trying to resolve this via email was a waste of time as they ignored and failed to reply to emails. I have raised an official complaint with VWFS and hope they resolve this issue urgently, otherwise my complaint will go to the FOS.

Kevin took over my car purchase from another sales person and could not be more professional and helpful. So accommodating and patient. Very detailed in explaining everything and handover of the vehicle. I will say that the staff were overworked and understaffed at this location and I really felt for the staff. Kevin was absolutely non stop and though he was cool as a cucumber I do feel all the staff had way too much to do and resulting in a rushed atmosphere and waiting around for those collecting cars. Just not enough people for the customers in my view.
