Very poor and agressive customer service
Hire from 26 September to 15 October 2025, Lisbon.
The check-in process was slow, and the Agent was very aggressive trying to sell the excess waiver cover , and overcharge us for cover to drive in Spain.
The experience of returning the car three weeks later was a disgrace by any standard. The receiving Agent immediately searched for any damage without reference to the form which noted all damage when we picked up the car. Fortunately I had taken plenty of photos so I could refute most of his claims. When he eventually found a small scratch that I could not refute, he charged 900 euros immediately, which was massively out of proportion to the damage. They also charged 50 euros for interior cleaning; we had hired the car for 3 weeks and it was not particularly dirty. Within one hour 1100 euros including tax had been charged to my credit card.
For nearly 2 weeks I chased a full damage report from CRC and received no response. I then contacted Zest, the agent/broker who I had hired the car through, and they obviously chased CRC because I then received breakdown of the charges, but still no damage report. After another week of chasing CRC and Zest, I received a damage report and a revised total charge of 333 euros, and no cleaning charge. CRC refunded the balance quickly.
I believe that CRC would have NOT corrected the damage charge or refunded anything if I had not aggressively chased a proper solution.
I have hired cars abroad many times; this was the worst experience of customer service and blatant attempts to charge excessive fees for minor damage. I would not go near CRC again, and I believe that Zest should not operate with them
In fairness the car, a VW T Cross, was very satisfactory and a reasonable price.

I wish I had read these reviews before hiring from these criminals. I hired a car Nov 15-22 and noticed damage on the rims which I took pictures of. When I returned they found the tiniest mark on one of the doors which they claimed I had caused. It as barely visible to the naked eye. The man said he would get someone to look at it a few days later and he would let me know. But as we drove away in the minibus he had taken £380 from my credit card. I was fuming. Fortunately I took out the full insurance from the broker in England so should be covered. Avoid this company.

Die Firma ist nicht wie angegeben im Terminal.
Dann mussten wir bei Abholung den doppelten Preis zahlen.
Natürlich hätten wir ablehnen können, hätten dann aber spät Abends im Industriegebiet ohne Auto gestanden und hatten noch eine Stunde Fahrt zum Hotel zu uns.
Bei der Abgabe war das Fahrzeug natürlich verschmutzt, der Mitarbeiter wusste aber merkwürdigerweise genau, wo er ganz weit unten ein wenig Schmutz entfernen musste um darunter einen winzigen, kaum sichtbaren Kratzer zu finden der uns mit 450 Euro berechnet wurde.

Avoid CRC Lisbon Airport
We were a larger group who rented two minibuses for a holiday in the Lisbon area at the end of October 2025.
When picking up the vehicles, several scratches and dents were found, which we were instructed to film and document. When renting through a third party, we also took out additional insurance that was supposed to cover any damages, but the deposit required for the CRC rental was extremely high.
After our rental week, the vehicles were returned in the same condition as when we picked them up. After a long inspection by the company’s representative, a tiny dent was pointed out on the left front door. The dent was incredibly hard to see with the naked eye, but CRC’s representative spotted it immediately (very suspicious, and most likely a damage many customers have already been charged for).
CRC demanded payment for the damage and immediately took part of the deposit. Since we strongly disagreed on site, an unpleasant atmosphere arose — something I’ve never experienced with a car rental company before. CRC is a company you should AVOID, as they will do everything they can to claim you caused damages and then charge you for them. Absolutely shameless.
Car rental scam
What was supposed to be a short term economical car rental turned into a nightmare. At pick up we were told our reserved car was unavailable so we had to pay for an upgrade, plus extra insurance that was not mentioned. They also took a cash deposit which after 4 months of emails and phone calls, I haven’t received. The scam is that they take the “deposit” in the same withdrawal as the car rental and insurance charges so the bank will automatically not accept the refund….very shady. They don’t reply easily and when they do they ground in circles. I’m still fighting for my money back, but as of yet the €119 rental is costing almost €2,000. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE

Used to be a good company but now it's a SCAM rental. They will charge you for the damage that you have not caused for any door dent 1mm or anything and will claim it's you.
Even after showing evidence of the damage that existed at pick up they will try and abuse all the powers to extract extra from you.

We hired a car from crc wheelgo in Lisbon. We were very happy with the car. It was modern and in good condition. Everything went bad when the car was returned. They found a scuff on the front skirt and charged us euro 550 to replace the skirt. As we were in a hurry to get to the airport the company wouldn't engage. Said we could wait until everyone had been served and said there was no damage noted when the car was taken out. We registered our displeasure as the scuff effected neither the cars appearance nor its performance and make it clear we would pursue the matter later. No damage was noted by us on pickup up We didn't view this as damage, more fair wear and tear. This scuff would not effect appearance, performance or value and no other rental car provider I have every used has run their hand along the bottom of the front skirt. When we got an opportunity to review docuementation we found front bumper damage was noted on the check out report. We also took the opportunity to check insurance cover and their excess waiver excluded Tyre,windscreen, wing mirror and under body damage. We had travel insurance that covered the excess but this didn't cover anything not cover by the rental cars excess waiver. Therefore we had no insurance. We immediately emailed the company pointing out preexisting damage on the front bumper was present on the check out report and asked for a refund for the damage. A response should have been quick and obvious but it took them about two weeks to respond and to their credit refunded the euro 550. This appears to be a way of the rental car company making extra money. Even if there was no initial damage they should not be able to charge such a high amount for such a minor blemish. Some poor customer had already paid to have the front skirt replaced without them actually replacing it. Be very very careful using crc. Check the front bumper when you take the car and expected to be billed an exorbadent amount for the smallest blemish. Don't expect to be protected from this behaviour by either their insurance excess waiver or your own excess cover. Dont expect a prompt rely for even the most obvious issue. This experience ruined this part of our holiday and we would never use them again.

Esta empresa é maliciosa. Eles se aproveitaram da chegada tardia do meu filho de 3 anos e do seu mau humor. Mesmo tendo pago o valor integral online, eles me forçaram a pagar novamente. Eles não respondem adequadamente à minha reclamação. Mesmo tendo o seguro mais caro, eles tentaram me fazer comprar um seguro novamente. Eles cobraram a taxa de aluguel de 82,95 euros que paguei novamente. Eles viram que eu não gravei um vídeo do interior do carro por estar muito cansado e tarde da noite. Ao retornar, eles abriram diretamente a porta esquerda e mostraram o pequeno amassado interno e me enviaram uma fatura dizendo que cobraram 615 euros. Eles até cobraram 618,49 por isso. Quando reclamei, eles disseram, como se estivessem zombando de mim, que reembolsaríamos 12 euros, já que oferecemos serviço noturno. Essas pessoas são vergonhosas. Essas são pessoas que se aproveitam dos momentos difíceis das pessoas e me defraudam em 700 euros. Mas farei tudo o que estiver ao meu alcance. Vocês serão responsabilizados pela vergonha que meu filho sofreu e pelos 700 euros. Que gente!

Reclamação – Insatisfação com o serviço de aluguer
Exmos. Senhores,
Venho, por este meio, manifestar a minha profunda insatisfação relativamente ao serviço de aluguer de viatura efetuado junto da vossa empresa, CRC Rentacar.
Procedi à reserva de um Peugeot 3008, veículo que selecionei de forma deliberada, por se adequar às minhas preferências e necessidades. No entanto, pela segunda vez consecutiva, fui confrontado com a tentativa de entrega de um Volkswagen T-Roc, modelo que não corresponde à reserva efetuada e com o qual já havia tido uma experiência insatisfatória anterior. Bagageira demasiado pequena o que impossibilitava a viagem que pretendia fazer.
Perante esta situação, manifestei o meu desagrado e solicitei a possibilidade de substituição do veículo, ainda que por outro de categoria inferior. Contudo, tal pedido foi recusado de forma inflexível, sem qualquer tentativa de encontrar uma solução razoável para o cliente.
Foi-me então indicado que poderia contactar a Rental Cars, intermediária da reserva, para cancelar a reserva e rever o montante pago. Fazendo me acreditar ser um processo simples. Esse contacto foi de facto efetuado, mas sem que a situação tivesse sido resolvida. Não fazem devolução total do valor já pago.
Mais tarde, foi-me apresentada a possibilidade de disponibilizarem um Peugeot 3008 com caixa automática, mas, para tal, seria necessário pagar uma taxa adicional de 16 € por dia, o que praticamente duplicaria o valor originalmente pago pela reserva — condição que considero manifestamente abusiva e desproporcional, sobretudo tendo em conta que o erro inicial não me era imputável.
Importa ainda referir que, pelas 22h59, fui informada de que, caso o levantamento da viatura ocorresse após as 23h00, seria aplicada uma taxa suplementar de 70 €, o que considero completamente inaceitável, atendendo ao facto de a demora na resolução do problema ter resultado unicamente da falta de flexibilidade e cooperação por parte dos vossos serviços. Fizemos de imediato então o pedido da viatura visto ninguém solucionar o problema e como eram 23:01 disseram de imediato que teríamos de pagar o extra.
Face ao exposto, considero que não foi prestado o serviço contratado, nem foi demonstrada a diligência mínima esperada de uma empresa do vosso setor. Assim, solicito uma análise urgente da situação e a devolução integral do valor pago pela reserva, ou, em alternativa, uma compensação adequada pelos transtornos causados.

CRC…worst car hire experience ever
Just got back from lovely holiday in Portugal. Booked car beforehand with easyJet, told we had well covered ourselves with insurance. Paid £1400 deposit, when we arrived they wanted £1800! Collected the car without extra insurance they were trying to sell us at CRC Lisbon! Not mention of any other necessities! Had a great weeks holiday. Returned the car, straightway checked the car over and was definitely looking out for a scratch ( that we did not do, we drove very local and parking was brilliant).
This scratch that you could hardly see unless you were less than 4 inches away cost us €350 , they needed to repaint the whole bumper for a 1 inch very fine scratch!,,plus we did not valet car on return so extra €50( we had been to the beach on our way back to airport) ! This company and return workers were rude and it is ridiculous to think holidaymakers somehow have to find a valet company before dropping car off, surely it’s part of the price…! Do not recommend and will not use them again! Check with them when you collect the car and video the whole car very very close up! Or better find another company! Lucky to get a one star from us! Also they did the same to the next few cars after us… probably this goes towards their bonus!,,

I rented a car from CRC at Lisbon Airport for just over a week. When I picked it up, I got my first shock, but it was my own fault: I had to pay around 500 euros extra because I only had a debit card and no credit card for the deposit.
It was a new Peugeot with a defective entertainment system. It kept restarting and losing connection to my iPhone, which made navigation in a foreign country very challenging.
Returning the car took over an hour. When I returned it, I pointed out the defect and asked if there would be a discount. They told me to write to customer care. I did so on September 10, and despite several inquiries, I have not received a response as of today, October 2.

Ho dato uno perchè lo zero non c'è. Pessima compagnia, l'attesa per la navetta all'aereoporto di Lisbona è stata interminabile, organizzazione pessima, più di 1 ora per avere la macchina. Operatori ambigui che ti propongono loro assicurazioni per tutelarti e ti spaventano prospettandoti spese enormi anche solo per un piccolo graffio superficiale, se la macchina si dovesse fermare per qualsiasi motivo il carro attrezzi ti costa 1400 euro e ti raccomandano di fare le foto alla macchina prima di andare via, inoltre ti appioppano il noleggio telepass anche se da me non gradito. Il check in non esiste, ti fanno firmare il contratto in modo telematico che arriva successivamente per mail, quindi lo visioni solo dopo la firma, ti danno le chiavi della macchina che ti cerchi da solo , fai un pò di foto e poi vai. Quando ho riconsegnato l'auto per un graffio superficiale nella fiancata mi hanno fatto pagare 1845 euro, fortuna che ero assicurato con Rentalcover che in breve tempo mi ha risarcito l'importo pagato. Beware if your Driving License is not a Year old
Beware if your Driving License is not over a year old, doesn't matter that you can provide evidence that you have driven for over 5 years, and don't think you'll get the name changed to another family member without paying 2.5 times more than your original booking. They provide insurance that is apparently mandatory, when it's not. Very unfriendly and when travelled 26hrs from Australia they know you have no alternative than to meet their demands.
