Credit to credit deserves
Credit to credit deserves. The agents are great. You can rent a room in 10 minutes. The process of referencing is a little complicated. Filling up forms ,paper work, bank accounts, credit checks and so on.......
Service is okay. Just what is needed. Nothing special but nothing negative.
Phone calls are answered, emails responded.
It's not bad really.

Good value for money
Good value for money. The rooms are average to good. Nothing luxurious. Just basic sharing. The maintenance chat is very efficient, all runs smoothly through an app called fixflo.
When I took my room I wasn't able to see but have had no issues in the process.

Incredible Chris- Credit to City Rooms
My relationship with City Rooms has, near enough, rested upon the shoulders of Chris Lucas. I wouldn’t normally write a review, but when someone has gone out of their way to be as helpful and efficient as Chris has, it would simply be rude not to sing his praises.
Chris has been incredibly helpful from the moment my property search began right up until the point my tenancy nears its end. After we just missed out on applying for a flat we really wanted, Chris took it upon himself to find every single viable option to present to us as quickly as possible. Time was constrained, and Chris went out of his way to compensate for this. His help didn’t just cover the day time either; if I needed to drop him an urgent question late in the evening he was always willing to help. That’s a level of customer service you consistently fail to see in most businesses.
A genuinely great bloke who is a credit to the business. If you’re lucky enough to get Chris as your City Rooms agent then I fail to see how you could have anything but a brilliant experience!

The five stars are for Thomas Paul, who was great at communicating and helped me find a suitable room. My experience with other agents wasn't necessarily great, they had a bit of an attitude. The admin workers were very kind when I went to pay my deposit and rent. Overall the process went smoothly and I do enjoy my room. The rooms go fast though, so you have to be quick.

Things were super smooth with cityrooms! I had all my queries answered very quickly and comprehensively by Gavin. He was extremely helpful throughout the stay. He helped us with any issue we had in our flat and we had a wonderful experience!

Searching for a room is not easy, especially in London. But Charly was extremely patient, helpful and informative. She communicated effectively with me and I rented my first room from her! Very happy! Would recommend anytime!!

Cityrooms have been good to me but also let me down on few occasions. I think they are trying their best. Unfortunately London is full of good & bad people. Once you rent out property , you could be sharing house with drug addicts, ex criminals, couples who fist fight & create drama, people walking into your room if left unlocked….Cityrooms cannot guarantee who you will be sharing house with but they do try their best to do what they can for you. Will leave another review after I get my deposit back because I heard so many horror stories about people not getting their deposit back from Cityrooms( apparently that’s how they make money)

We viewed a few properties with Eva and eventually found the right one to rent. Eva was super quick and responding throughout the whole process, very friendly and professional too. We didn't have any issues at all, very honest with their feedback and property viewings.
Being first time renters and not 100% sure of the process it was great when she kept us in the loop

Stay away from CityRooms.
Stay away from CityRooms. They will try to deduct money from your deposit in every way possible. They will deliberately delay the release of your deposit so they can force you to accept their proposed deductions, which don't make sense. We had to raise a dispute to get our money back 3 months after the end of the tenancy. They will stress you out and they will not hesitate to force you out of the property, as they did with us. Don't believe anything they say, they are a dodgy agency. And always speak via email, never by phone.

Go to any letting agency but not City Rooms please.
One of the worst letting agency in London. The only two members worth mentioning are Elis (sales agent) and Simmona (the manager of Bethnal Green area) they have been really helpful in solving and assisting with any kind of issues. But I believe they have little or no authority to highlight companies witty policies and procedures to the upper management.
Cit rooms lets house before inspection, house had pesticides issues, they charge for cleaning even if the rooms are cleaned before checkout. Big scam of all is that they say all bills included in the rent price. but their clause says something else. Like you have to cover any amount over their minimum allowance they provide. Why lie if the bills are included and we have to pay?
VIEWERS PLEASE AVOID THIS AGENCY AT ALL COST.

Was looking for a room, found one in spare room, went to the agency, did referencing , passed, paid the money, and moved in the next day.
Very straight forward, simple and the staff was helpful, they helped me with the reference and where there to assist me move in.
Am writing this review for recognition of my agent Alfonso, thank you you have been helpful. Keep up the good work.
⚠️ The worst, most incompetent, most dishonest Lettings Agent I have ever dealt with. ⚠️
(02/03/2021) CityRooms are an extremely dishonest and belligerent agency to deal with. They barely ever respond to any form of communication and routinely enact actions which would constitute malpractice; such as turning up at the property with no notice whatsoever and just letting themselves in... (or moving in new, foreign tenants who have just arrived in the country, but who have not been isolated during the Covid lockdown and without any notice to existing tenants).
Trying to communicate with them about this has only resulted in them becoming more belligerent.
[UPDATE] (15/03/2021): The Lettings Manager at City Rooms in Stepney Green has shown absolutely no interest whatsoever in reaching any sort of reasonable resolution. He doesn't even bother to respond to emails. So, no; it's not true to say that there are discussions being had to reach a resolution: There aren't because the Lettings Manager has shown that he's not interested.
[UPDATE] (28/06/2021): Now over 6 weeks since my partner and I moved out of the property and we are STILL trying to receive our deposit back. I have literally spent a year of my life arguing with these incompetent conmen and it's still ongoing, even after we have moved out. I really wish, I WISH, I had never got involved with these crooks.
Of course, we are currently engaged in a formal dispute with CityRooms, who are currently trying to withold £150 of our deposit for 'removal of furniture' which they provided incorrectly, 'cleaning fees' for cleaning which they failed entirely to provide and for 'over-usage of bills' based on two estimated meter readings a whole year apart, which were based on a property with 4 people, when they actually moved 5 people into the property, thereby breaking the tenancy agreement anyway.
I initially thought that they might be reasonable about handing our deposit back and us all going our separate ways, as their 'Director', Jorge, CC'd us in to an email stating that he would 'waiver' the claimed charges as there was no grounds for any of them. BUT... that turned out to be YET ANOTHER lie; as a week or two after writing this, it appears that CityRooms have laid claim to a substantial portion of the deposit which we are expecting to be returned.
CityRooms and their representatives are not only completely incompetent; NONE of them are trained in anything even vaguely related to property considerations; they are also wilfully deceitful and dishonest and (almost worse than that); wilfully antagonistic and belligerent. They're a gang of absolute conmen, chancers, liars and crooks, all of them.
They are (ethically speaking) absolute scum; make no mistake about it. Solicitors have been contacted. CityRooms can be damn sure that they have messed with the wrong guy on this occasion because I am going to take this as far as it can possibly go. I will sue them if that's what it takes to put an end to their disgusting business practices.
[UPDATE] (06/08/2021) @CityRooms: There's PLENTY which you COULD have done had you any inclination to do so. As the managing agents for the property, your were certainly in a much stronger position to raise our concerns with the Landlord than we were as tenants, especially since you make it your practice to block any contact between Tenants and the Landlord. More than just a little suspicious if you ask me. You COULD have offered us a slight reduction in our rent for the 6 + months we were without use of the garden we were paying for. You COULD have been more explicit in asking other tenants to self isolate appropriately. You COULD have required other tenants to isolate for at least a week in a B&B before moving them straight into the property from outside the country at 10pm at night. And you COULD have refrained from randomly sending people round to the property without any notice.
As for what we 'owe' to you; we owe you nothing. Your accounts department are incapable of basic maths. Your 'calculations' were based on 4 person occupancy when there was 5 people present and even then, they were based on estimated readings across a 15 month period, when the meters are located outside of the property and you could have come and read them and provided actual readings at ANY time.
So don't tell me that there was "nothing else you could do". There was PLENTY you could have done differently. You just didn't have any such inclination because your organisation is incompetent, deceitful, cheating and dishonest.
[UPDATE] (17/08/2021): So it looks like after all of that, looks like CityRooms aren't getting ANY OF THAT DEPOSIT THEN! LOL!!!!!

What a scam
What a scam. They just want to take advantage of immigrant people. I had the worst experience with one of their employees, Antonio Horta. He was even asking us cash money as a deposit, with no signed paperwork whatsoever... dodgy. Then when we left the flat they tried to take all our deposit for no reason. Lucky enough we had a British friend that threatened to take them to court - if it wasn't for him, these bast*rds would have probably gotten away with it.
I don't believe a word of any of the good reviews, they must be all fake!

I needed a room very quickly so I thought to use this agency. I really should have done my research so now I wouldn't feel so dumb.
They told me that because of Covid I couldn't see the place before renting. That sounded suspicious but I didn't think about that too much (now I know why they did tell me that).
They suggested a room in a flat with 3 other people. The room seemed ok from the pictures/videos so I took it.
Do you know how many people live here other than me? 6 PEOPLE! We are 7 and it seems like a hostel.
No space in the fridge nor cupboards.
People not making their copy of the key and buzzing at the intercom at literally any time, doors slamming every 10 minutes. Everything so messy and dirty. I've been here for less than a week and it's been a nightmare so far.
I asked for a refund but they said I'm not eligible for it as they didn't know about the extra people. It seems like it's not their responsibility.
Whose responsibility is that then!?!?!?!?
Now I'm reading about the extra costs for electricity bills and basically I'm gonna pay for the extra people living here. ABSURD!!
I might need to lawyer up.

I just want to thank my agent Brian. I do not usually spend time to write reviews, but this guy was so professional, helpful and composed. At the end the room that we were looking for was taken and we took another one near Bethnal Green. We weren’t that happy initially with the location and he spent time to find another one suitable and cheaper for my budget, Relocating us for free with the help of the Gherarde.
