- I went to the building the first day and I could not get in as they provided me with the wrong key
- the 2nd day I accessed the building but I could not get into my room as the room key was wrong too
- spent £100 in hotel those two nights, I requested a refund to the agency and they refused to pay me back
- finally on the 3rd day I got into my room and I found out I would not be sharing the flat with 2 people as stated by the agency but 3 people
- wifi does not work, light in the bathroom does not work, we have been using our toilet with Iphone lights on to see, I informed my point of contact but no responses were ever given
- there was no water twice already in the house (I have been in the flat for 40 days only), I reached out to my POC and two managers, respectively: MANFREDI - GIOVANNI - SALVATORE, none of them investigated into the issue
- for this room I pay £1060 per month an I am now in the process to leave the contract through the council advisor and get my 5 weeks deposit back
Last month with city rooms was not easy, please don't make the same mistake I made.

Where do I start with this company; had I known I should have done my research and never Let any property with them. Their estate agents can be charming but do not fall for them they are in to take all your money and deposit.
So as stated in previous bad reviews this is not a drill, when you pay your deposits with them they are willing to take every penny from you at the end of your checkout.
I got a bill of £810.98 for extra electricity and gas bills. Sounds like a joke right? But this is actually a charge for each tenant that stayed in this property.
Before moving in they advertised this Apartment as a 3 bedroom and 3 persons flat. Upon moving in there were 4 people living here and another tenant bringing multiple friends to stay. This is very unfortunate as this will put you in a dark hole on your final bills.
Now the amount they state they pay towards Gas and electricity is tiny and this is more of a their trap. With gas bills and electric bills rising you are better off renting a place and paying for those bills yourself.
Not once will they inform your throughout your stay how much you owe in electricity or gas bills. They are billed every 3 months so each tenant should be aware if they have over-usage but this is not clear.
Finally in 2020 I moved over from a flat in Canada Water to another Flat in Limehouse. I signed a novation of contract which means any previous contract is closed. I was made to pay a new and extra deposit via MyDeposit scheme. Things were running smoothly until after I finally decided to move out. They brought a bill of extra gas and electricity from 2020 from Canada Water. Despite closing that contract and novating to a new contract which is a breach of the law.
These guys constantly break the law, I have spoken to my solicitor for legal advice and I am willing to fight every penny left.
Please this company is not worth the hassle, in the name of God do not rent from them. If you do, consider your deposit gone.
Quick Update: Following their reply to this message below, don't let them fool you. I have currently opened a third Party dispute with MyDeposit to get my money back also they stated that I agreed for the sums to be deducted which is a complete lie. Let's see where the Third Party arbitration from MyDeposit goes. I'll be taking them to court shortly after.
Please do not let them fool you with their stupid generic reply this is not a company to be trusted and stay far away from them.

Professional and reliable
I visited City Rooms, in April and my Agent was Fabian. He gave me all the details for the accommodation and I paid £295 deposit.
I work in the Education Sector, so had within the 2 weeks Easter Holidays to move. I was in contact with Fabian daily. He replied promptly to messages for progress of the move.
Unfortunately, the tenant leaving couldn't move out on time, which meant I could not move within the 2 weeks holiday I had. My move was not urgent, so I can return to them in the Summer to help find another suitable place.
This was explained to City Rooms in an email. The Manager Giovanni was understanding and my deposit was refunded in full.
I really appreciated that and will definitely recommend them to other people.
They are a reliable organisation.

Danny and I met when I approached him asking for advice and tips on getting a good deal in renting a room. Since then, he's been nothing but encouraging and extremely helpful. He's highly professional as well as kind, and his knowledge is second to none. Would highly recommend if you are looking to rent a room.

Corrently renting a room, can't sleep at night because there is an engine buzzing all time. They offered to change the room and then disappeared. Totally unable to reach anyone to solve my problem: I will be forced to pay more than 2100£ and not be able to sleep.
In response to what written by City Rooms below:
First of all, it was not a car engine, it was the boiler that you took 2 months to fix, adding the excuse "we cannot reach the owner". It is placed right above my room, so imagine what kind of nightmare I have been through.
Second, it is not true that I could relocate: there was no available room. The thing about the 11th is false as well, because you made me book a room that was not free and, as a matter of fact, next Monday I have to go to your office to fix the problem (Thankfully, Michele is a competent and honest person, unlike Alessandro)

This is serious warning.
I don’t wanna give them even 1 star.
At first I give you summery.
1. They don’t respond quickly.
2. They ignore you when they have any problem.
3. They don’t check state of property before you move in.
4. They don’t do anything if you ask them to fix the serious problem. If they do, it takes 2 and half months at least.
5. No central heating for 2 and half months since day one.
6. No hot water for 2 and half months since day one.
7. No gas stove for cooking for a month.
8. They could kill us because of gas leaking caused by old boiler they didn’t change despite I asked them.
9. They try to threaten you.
10. They try to force you to kick out of property.
11. They didn’t not have HMO license(which is needed for letting property for flat share) SO YOU MUST CHECK BEFORE YOU MOVE IN. *We confirmed with COUNCIL.
12. They try to do illegal things.
13. They don’t communicate within company.
14. Overall THEY DON’T DO THEIR JOB AT ALL. JUST TRY TO STEAL YOUR MONEY AND PUT YOUR LIFE AT RISK.
Here’s the story. Maybe some people don’t believe this because it sounds like some fiction drama but unfortunately these all are truths.
Once you go with them, you’ll know what I am saying.
Since I moved in there was no heating and no hot water. And despite I have reported from day one, they didn’t fix for 2 and half months.
Because of mould from that condition, I couldn’t stop coughing for a long time.
And the worst thing was old boiler. Central heating and hot water were not provided because boiler was too old to work properly and they knew that but they left for 2 and half months. And we found gas leaking because of that old boiler. That means they could kill us seriously.
Gas leaking was confirmed by British gas company and they stopped gas so I also couldn’t cook for a long time and that costed me extra.
I have more annoying experience.
Anyways, DON’T GO WITH THEM.

A company you should go to only if you need accommodation in very short notice. They place you in properties without telling you the true amount of housemates you’ll have. They advertised a 3 bed/3 housemate flat to me only for me to find out both rooms had 2 people living in them so it was actually 5 of us in the 3 bed flat!
This then affects the electricity of course which they conveniently allow to be overused until they inform you of the overusage bill owed at the end of your tenancy. Truly terrible company, rude team who do not respond to issues in good time
I cannot stress to you, do not give this company business unless you have absolutely no choice. They have somewhat decent flats on offer (location was great) but there are better letting agents out there

Do not choose this agency cityrooms, the say lies, and they send weird people to live with you, I had a very bad experience. And into the contract landlord pay only 30 pounds and they take money from your deposit. No transparence on the service. I really do not recommend this agency at all.

Dear City Rooms in London, Stepney Green, Thank you a lot for the answer, you gave me 4 weeks ago, I read it carefully and really really couldn't understand how the description of the events in this particular afternoon fixed the issue and how this change the fact that what I saw was really horrible disgusting and unprofessional behaviour and services. First at all we are talking about broken communication between your Hostess officer and you letting agents ( no information that I arrive in the office, after filling the form); then secondly - apart of the agents, which were busy with some other customers, there was at least four/ five agents, playing games or whatever social media, and sharing a jokes between each other. Or let me see if I get it right - so because you want to provide amazing service - probably 4/5 agents, chatting jokes are not enough to respond to only one person, me, to my business needs and most likely you were waiting for the CEO of the company to come so you can have team big and strong enough to meet my professional needs, aaaaaaa, now I get it; thirdly how the fact that you are putting in your answer the sensitivitie topic Covid, so how this change the fact that first there was not fully compliance of the Covid measure in your office in that particular moment of the afternoon, and how this change the fact that you still didn't provide the services, you are so proud -"13 years independent leading agent", you failed to attract me like customer and thirdly - isn't that interesting that all of the activities, which you describe suppose to be focused on your existing and new customers, giving them great professional experience, but you failed in this as well. It is interesting that you can't organise the communication between your Hostess and your agent ( aprox 10-15 meters from each other, the same room) but you are organising and managing the process of finding a home for the clients, anyway, topic is getting too long, which is unneeded, unnecessary and pointless in this moment, because I am on my own path, you are on your, wish you all the best, success in your business, hopefully your next clients will have the honour to be serve by the CEO of your company, because like you said - "it is imperative we ensuring the highest levels of customer care at all times" and if 4/5 agents chatting jokes are not enough for this purpose, probably your CEO (and why not execute board of directors) all of them, together with these agents will be able to serve one single person, but it is not gonna be me

Great agent & maintenance team
My agent was super helpful from the beginning with all my questions and any issues that I faced, he was actively available on WhatsApp to offer help. I have gone ahead and decided to move to another property managed by cityrooms, because of my agent, Salvo. The company is also good overall, Alicia and Simone are very prompt with administrative queries and maintenance related problems.
