Wow - I was looking for a card to use abroad without the need for a new current account - there are the likes of Wise but Caxton caught my eye with decent reviews - initial experience of the app / online are excellent and had a lovely unexpected welcome call - very good first impression!

After raising a disputed charge on my card, it was dealt with quickly and resolved to my satisfaction in less than 24 hours.
I would have given 5-stars had it not been quite hard to actually find where to raise this dispute. Navigation to this particular function needs to be made easier to locate - maybe a link from the FAQ would be a good idea, rather than it just stating raise a dispute and then leaving you to try and find this function.

I called Caxton owing to a problem with my PIN (which it turns out must have been my fault). My issue was dealt with rapidly and effectively and the person that I deal with was very polite and pleasant.

I’ve been a Caxton card user for a while and previously had a very good experience using it abroad. I used the card in countries like France, Spain, and the UAE without any problems at all, which is why it’s disappointing to see how unreliable it has recently become for online payments.
Lately, many of my online transactions are being declined. This has happened with services like Temu, Uber Eats, and other online purchases. It’s extremely frustrating because the card should work for normal online payments, yet it often doesn’t.
Recently I tried paying with the card on Temu and noticed that Caxton seems to have added an extra “fraud protection” layer. Instead of receiving the usual verification code to confirm the purchase, I got a message asking if the transaction might be fraudulent and to reply “YES” if I made the purchase. After replying YES, I was able to complete the payment. While I understand the need for security, this feels excessive since I already receive a verification code for transactions, and it just makes the process more complicated.
The lack of customer support is the most frustrating part. During one of the calls, I was asked to email documentation, which I did immediately. After sending all my documents, I never received any response. I called Caxton twice more — they always said the card should be working and that they would escalate the issue to their higher-ups and the IT team — yet I never heard back. I also messaged them three times and still received no reply. Because of this, I have no idea whether there’s just an additional security layer causing the problem, or if there is actually an issue with my card.
It’s particularly concerning because this lack of reliability doesn’t fill me with confidence when travelling abroad. I’m now skeptical about using the card overseas, as it might not work like it used to. I’m genuinely a bit worried that I could be left unable to pay while abroad, which is very stressful.
It’s a real shame because this used to be a card I trusted when travelling and making online purchases. At the moment, the frequent declines combined with the complete lack of responses make it extremely frustrating and difficult to rely on. It would be great if someone from Caxton finally addressed my case and explained why my card isn’t working properly for online transactions.

Having misplaced my card, I contacted Caxton by what’s app and had very prompt and satisfactory service. They couldn’t have been more helpful. I found the whole process of acquiring and using the card very easy and convenient.
