Very easy to use the web site to buy currency on the travel card
Just wish the exchange rates were better compared to the competition and published rates

Transaction very easy to use and very helpful that able to keep a running total of expenditure.

The Travel Card and website work flawlessly, but the mobile app is absolutely useless. Every time I try to use it it says "Sorry, there is a system error, please try again later". No matter how many times I try, or however many times I delete and reinstall the app, it still throws up the error message. So my advice to anyone thinking of installing the app is to make sure you have the website saved in your browser, because chances are you are going to need it.

Avoid these cards.when abroad its a hit and miss if they work.
Customer service is zero .wait 50 minutes for someone to answer phone.Using a fictional name.say they will call yoi back, They wont.
My Huband could not even get his balance and spending statement when in Canada.Blocked out despite having over $3000 in account.
Avoid them. App blocked..

I really hate this modern way of living. I'm going abroad and I know my bank card won't work because I don't have the app and there's nothing the bank can do to help. Then I found out about travel cards....there were options, so many options. So I went with a basic one I can load the currency onto. The website made it sound really easy to use. When the card arrived the instructions for activating it and retrieving the pin were 'download the app'. Honestly wouldn't have ordered the card if anywhere it would have said that's what you have to do!!!
So a quick google told me you don't actually need the app. I went online to create an account (which I also didn't need to do but you can't retrieve the pin from the online account) and it wanted a memorable word. Guess what? The memorable word wasn't long enough. Not going to be memorable then is it?
Anyway, a quick call to an automated service later and the activation and pin retrieval is complete. So why can't that just be the process?
Thank you to anyone who read the rant to the end. Yes it's just a rant. Whether the card will work (or I will know the pin by the time I get there) remains to be seen

Simple to open, to use and to top up

I tried to order a card from a Facebook post.
It wouldn't let me load cash onto it. I went to the post office and they opened an account for me but I had to withdraw the cash from my debit card and they then paid it into my account.
I opened it with £500, I got 500 Euros plus a charge of £7.50 for the transaction. The rate advertised on Facebook was 1.15 Euros to the £.
Overall it list me around £82. Never again, also it was declined in some supermarkets so charged again for taking cash from ATM.

The card is very useful when out of the country for paying in euros and other currencies. My only gripe is that you cannot transfer cash back to your bank / BS account. I loaded my PO card before I went away but I returned with £200 on the card. I found there was no way of paying it back into my current account. Very annoying.

The card is a great idea. We opted to take our cards instead of cash for security reasons. However, nobody told us that the card had to be ‘activated’ before we could use it. Consequently when attempting to pay by card abroad it was refused. On. return to the U.K. we were charged to convert back to Sterling. The idea is great, the information is lacking. We in effect just gave away over £30 for no benefit.

Very good and useful Travel card. Easy to use and to add or exchange money from one currency to another (with existing card balance). My main issue is the exchange rate is not as good as you would get if you were to use the Post Office website to order money to pick up at a post office or delivered to your home.

The Post Office travel card is an absolutely useless organisation. Some months ago I requested a new travel card. They linked this into an account which I thought had long ceased and because they did this there were two cards from years past on one account and the new card on the new account which in some way was linked to the old account so the new card could not be managed on line. They then set out to merge the accounts all cards new and old showing on the same (original) account but again the new card could not be managed on line on the old account. I also asked the Travel Card to change my email address - they seemed to be able to do this for communications but their IT people could not change the user name on my account from the old to new email address unlike almost every other organisation I deal with. I spent about 12 hours on the phone with the PO travel card team them trying to get things sorted out with the new account and old account either merged or the old account deleted. Could they do this. Not at all. Basically when you try and discuss issues with their team they do not have a clue as to what you are talking about, and cannot manage the IT side and get things right. I will never use a PO travel card again. Opened a french bank account instead - took about 1 hour and all handled very efficiently!!!

So easy to use very happy with my experience

I'm on a trip in Australia and I have had nothing but hassle trying to top up my travel card, either via the app, using my bank or Google pay.

When I need to contact customer support, the only option for me is to send an email, bcos the cost of calling the phone number provided, will cost me alot of money.

I had high hopes for using the post office travel card, but I feel let down with the absence of being able to top up successfully the 1st time

Post Office Travel Money Card App Working Website has issues i can put my Email and password in and get one-time security code then i get this title "IndexOutOfRangeException" status 500 detail "Index was outside the bounds of the array." instance "/v1/customers/callback" Called them told to re add my card still get the Issues. and not heard back. I have tried different browsers and other pc and phone browser too

The card did not work after trying it as 4 different places and then it is an absolute pain to try to get your money back off of the card and it turns out the exchange rate is so bad on it when I turned the currency back to pounds I'd lost £10 worth of money.

Very easy to use when abroad, and no hidden charges

Easy to order a card, easy to Top Up via the App which is easy to navigate. Useful PIN reminder function in the App is great. The card works anywhere.

Worked perfectly for me whilst on any of my European holidays. Whether it be a card payment or withdrawing cash.
Even used the currency converter on returning to the UK, so I was then able to use my card in UK shops and stores

Obtained my travel money card from a local post office, downloaded the app, activated the card, noted my PIN and thought I was all set for my holiday!
Thought I would try my card at the airport going out, didn’t work! tried it on the airplane, didn’t work, tried it at the airport in Spain, didn’t work! tried it in a restaurant didn’t work, how embarrassing.
Gave up at this point and had to borrowed cash from a friend.
Would never use or trust this type of payment method again!
