Bunk Campers - Greater London Omdömen 

I have used Bunk Campers twice for 2 motor home holidays - the first was back in September 2021 and more recently in June 2024. On the first holiday I hired an ‘Aero’ and on the second holiday a ‘Europa’. Shortly before the second holiday, Bunk Campers merged with ‘Just Go’ so this second hire was fulfilled by them and we were provided with a ‘Voyager’ motor home. We had to collect the motor home from Just Go base near Toddington instead of Bunk Campers depot at Heathrow.
We had a great time on both holidays exploring Northumberland on the first holiday and the Lake District on the second holiday (albeit the narrow roads in the Lake District were a bit of a challenge with the slightly larger vehicle).
The motor homes provided for both holidays were fairly new and very well equipped.
Both holidays were great fun and I would have no hesitation in recommending Bunk Campers (or Just Go) if you want to hire a motor home for a motor home holiday.

Would not recommend. Staff member made us feel as if we would absolutely lose our deposit no matter the situation, said it was very rare for hirers to walk away with their deposit in tact.

After our experience I was so surprised to see such a high rating for Bunk Campers on Trust Pilot.
I gave thorough feedback through the final email communications from the company and never heard back about our experience. The van itself was nice if larger than we had hoped. We ultimately returned the van just over a week prior to our return flights due to anxiety over our initial pick up.
The staff member all but confirmed that it would be unlikely we would receive our deposit back and that ‘that’s how the company make their money’. We are a young couple travelling on a budget and chose to have the basic insurance cover as we are experienced drivers and as I mentioned, on a budget. This was very ill advised by the staff member who proceeded to list every possible way we would lose our deposit. Which for us was over 2000 AUD.

As there are no refunds available once booked we had no choice but to embark on the journey. The rear indication light went out early on in the travel, I got in touch to ask if this is something we were expected to change a received a call from a helpful member of staff verbally communicating that we could change it. I asked for confirmation via email as I hope I’m conveying, we had been continually told we were likely to lose our deposit in many eventualities. I did not receive it in writing communication and therefore chose not to change it. Putting ourselves in danger. When returning the van (one week early) we mentioned the light and the staff member casually said he was already aware.

This frustrated me as this same staff member put the fear into us of losing a good chunk of money over potentially out of control situations and yet sent us on our way with a fault.

I genuinely could not relax and wish we never hired from this company. This was from the London Heathrow branch.

Given 2 stars as the camper itself was clean and functional (aside from rear light). Would give 1 star for customer service and peace of mind.

We had a good experience, picking up the motorhome from Heathrow. There is a bus from the airport which in 5minutes drives you in front of the renting area. The gate is sometimes closed but you can open it by yourself. They gave as a very new "Etrusco T 7.3 SF" with a lot of optional stuff. I would have prefered to have more drawers in spite of the oven and to have a proper wardrobe in spite of a separate shower but that's not up to the rental office. We made a Wales tour and we could manage to drive the vehicle in narrow streets even if quite big. The camera on the back was very very useful. The equipment with the value pack was pretty complete even if I have to suggest the following tips to the staff (and to customers):
1. check the bedding before leaving (we had a missing sheet)
2. add a gas lighter which is essential to switch on the gas stove (we had to buy one and then leave it, as you can't carry it with you flying home - anyway we could not be able to cook for the first day)
3. add some cleaning essentials like dish soap, sponge, broom etc
4. toilet paper would be useful
5. add a lpg station map for the area near the check in and out office (at the end of the trip we had to spend quite a long time triyng to find a lgp station to refill the gas bottle)
We had no troubles at all so I can't review the customer assistance service

This comes a little late, but better late than never . I booked a little last minute , got their Aero (2 berth) ,the vehicle is a little old and has a lot of miles under it , but it served its purpose well, no issues on the road and the interiors including the cabinets held well.

What made the entire trip worth it , was their customer service , i was handled by Joy , who like his name was a joy to work with . He was extremely patient in walking me through all the details , watchouts and helpful tips. He was also extremely gracious and polite , this ensured we started the trip on a high . The very next morning (it was sunday , so off day for Joy) , i needed some help , so contacted him via whatsapp, he called literally immediately and walked me through . These small things mean a lot fo customers like me , and i am grateful to Joy & Bunk Camper s for enabling it .

Highly recommend , i think they have a new fleet coming in as well.

The location is does not look too professional.
Office in the container and some very old campers on the parking lot.
After all the experience was was without any complication and any problem.
The camper was in a good condition and we had two beautiful weeks.

The staff were really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Everything met our expectations, and probably a bit more. Camper was great, a few minor issues, but easily rectified. Would highly recommend.

The communications leading up to picking up the camper were a little confusing. They tried to switch a 4 pm pick up to an 11 am pick up the following day. That would have cost us a day of rental and a night of lodging. They also did not answer the phone listed on the contract when we were delayed at Heathrow. Otherwise all was well.

Having your hotel room with you during your holiday is possibly the best way to vacation.

The motorhome was well prepared and presented and worked very well for us. The handover briefing at the start was a trifle long and convoluted, going through all the stone chips and dents and the hard sell on (their expensive) insurance. Interestingly, even though we'd purchased excess insurance from their website, they were unaware of it and tried to sell us their own product. Apart from that though the service was good. The service support whilst on the road in Dublin was excellent. Check that you've got toilet paper at the outset and we needed a better set of kitchen knives, but we were out for 4 weeks and if you're going for less, you might get away with what you're given. We found the van itself was excellent and highly reliable and robust for some pretty ordinary roads in Wales and Ireland.

The Camper that we picked up had been smoked in and we spent the 1st few days trying to clean the smell out of it. It spoiled the 16 day trip significantly.

Motorhomes are OK, prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Aging stock! The cleanliness of the van was questionable. Upholstery was in poor condition and van not cleaned properly. Also didn’t expect to have to do running repairs on two shelves and bathroom door. Was also overcharged and yet to receive refund despite it being over 10 days ago.

We picked up our camper in Heathrow. Joy and his team were thorough in explaining everything we needed to know for a great travelling experience. We had an amazing two months exploring the UK in a camper that had everything we needed but could still fit down the narrow lanes of Cornwall.
A particular mention to the booking agent in Belfast, Nicole who was simply lovely helping us to extend our hire.
We will definitely reuse Bunk Campers and recommend them to anyone who is looking for the freedom a motorhoming holiday can give. A wonderful experience made easy using a quality provider.

Really helpful instructions on using the camper and its many functions and facilities. Highly recommend this company. Provided with airport transport once we returned camper. Would recommend to anyone wanting to hire a camper to explore the UK

Could not have ask for more helpful and attentive staff at the Heathrow branch.

From the moment we collected the vehicle, until we returned the vehicle, they definitely went above and beyond to make sure we knew how to get the most from the vehicle and our holiday.

Glen was helpful from the start to the end of the hire. The vehicles are well looked after. A great way to see the UK on a budget and at your pace. If you are a first timer, I would go with a smaller option than the Grande as some of the country roads are too narrow.

Using bunk campers gave us the freedom to go where we eanhted whrn we wanted to.
The staff were very informative and attentive.
When we did have an issue it was sorted very quickly.

Great customer service. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good price.

Their service charge to pay parking fines was unbelievable.

Other than that they were great and an awesome experience.
