Very kind people at the office and the campervan was great.
It was my lovely and cosy home for 2 weeks in Schotland!

First time traveling in a camper van on our own and it was the most amazing experience. Bunk Campers really made it easy from booking and paying online, friendly and thorough service when picking up, and fast return process at the end. We would rent from them again.

I booked about seven months in advance. The most important thing for me was four proper sleeping berths (we are all taller than 1.78 meters). A few weeks before our trip, I received a message that the campervan was no longer available. However, I was told I would receive a newer but equivalent one (I even called ahead). Unfortunately, this one would cost a bit more – which I paid. Upon arrival, we then discovered that we had been given a model without an alcove. BunkerCamps offered no compensation whatsoever; we even had to pay extra for small things like leveling blocks.

It felt like a rip-off.

it was our first time renting a big camper and they gently took the time to explain all in detail and to answer our questions, all people met at Bunk Campers were very friendly so thank you, we loved it!

The service was good.
We liked the camper.
The bed in the back of the camper wasn't the best for us.

I reserved a specific camper. At the time of reservation, I turned down a 20% discount if I accepted any camper of the right size, because I wanted a specific configuration (my wife and I didn't want to climb on a ladder, bad knees). When I arrived, I was given a warm "I'm so sorry" standing for "I don't care". After rental I asked to get the 20% back and also didn't get it. Didn't even get a response, an apology or anything. My advice is, take the 20% and cut the company's margin, because they will give you what they want.

We booked an Aero Plus and got allocated an Apollo - Duo Plus or equivalent which was much smaller and less comfortable. We had an Aero Plus the previous year from Bunk Campers in the Greater London area and had been very happy traveling in that. The van had not been fully serviced and checked before we got it. Toilet cassette and grey water had not been emptied. On board water had also not been checked. I contracted salmonella while on the trip from the onboard water supply. It can only have come from the van water. This was good for post holiday weight loss but not great for the 27 hour flight home. When I complained about this through or travel agent, we got a $230.00 refund from a near $8000.00 fee, we had the van for 2 weeks (appx). We had been a little delayed due to flights being delayed which meant that the staff were late leaving for the day. When you are in a public facing job in the tourism industry your staff need to be a whole lot more accommodating. Not to impressed with the customer service and the refund. Will have to look at alternative rentals if we travel to the UK again.

Reply to Bunks response:
We organised with our travel agent to book with Bunk Campers in late November 2024. I would have thought that this was sufficent time to get our requested van reserved. Not sure how much notice they believe they need. Even if we had requested a change to the van it surely wouldn't have made any difference. Just seems like a lot of excuses trying to explain away a some what negative review.

Robbery on damage fees
We damaged the right mirror while driving due to the storm. Only the mirror was damaged, but they charged also for the light, even if it worked perfectly. They also never sent to me the damage report, asked twice.
I don't recommand at all.

Wir hatten im Juni 2025 das erste mal ein Camper von Bunk Camper gemietet. Das Personal freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Als wir am Campingplatz waren ist uns aufgefallen das die Heizung und das warme Wasser nicht geht. Sind am nächsten Morgen nochmal zu Bunk Campers gefahren und das Problem wurde sofort behoben. Wir würden jederzeit wieder einen Bunk Camper buchen.

Great Camper, good service

Travelling with my wife and toddler. All used to caper / overland long (UK, Europe and Africa). Greeted by poorly organised, rude management with a bad attitude which lead to a delayed departure. Paid extra for a newer van which we got but it was basic spec and sparely equipped with no thought to storage - cutlery & crockery just dumped in a cupboard so very rattley. Advised that a late (1-2hrs) return would be OK as long as called ahead. On returning (1.75hrs late) met with an irate and rude manager (lady) with negligible customer service skills, and then charged £100 late fee only to see the van sitting untouched for the next hour as we checked in and arranged a taxi etc. Would definitely avoid this outfit for future trips. Much better options out there. Wish I’d read the reviews before booking!!!

Booked a small new campervan. Received a large old campervan.
Booked equipment, didn‘t received it. Discussed several times, then they said we can buy it and will get the money back. This never happend.

Great camper. Size was good, comfortable bed, water got hot quickly. Great for around Scotland. Attention to details missing for the little things- no tea towel or broom etc.

Van was not perfect. For example
1: was not possible to keep opened the window of the kitchen.
2: during driving i had to keep the wheel turned on left side.

Easy pick up and return. Clean and maintained vehicles. 30% discount. Affordable and suitable for traveling scotland.

The whole process from booking to collecting and returning vehicle done with minimum of fuss. Joanna, Emma and John at front desk were friendly and sorted everything easily.

Camper was ok, bed was not at all comfortable. All the crockery in the cupboards and oven trays created a massive rattle. On pickup I was made to do another check in process at a portal in your office. I had already uploaded copies of passport and licence and other info online prior to arriving but was told I HAD to do it again there. This meant taking photos of documents and scanning them in etc all while the staff were there and COULD have done this.
The grey water empty leaver didn’t work. Although when I returned the vehicle I was told it was working fine. I had tried, and on two other occasions at caravan parks others had tried and it would NOT open.
I found the staff at pickup were not helpful or welcoming.
I have hired motorhomes on many occasions in at least 7 different countries and I won’t be back to Bunk Campers.
