Experienced a warm, personal service from a very attentive, knowledgeable and professional team at Boots Opticians, Ashton under Lyne. A particular shout out to Julie who guided me effortlessly through the paperwork, pre-tests and ordering and Sumayah the Optician. Both are excellent at their jobs and an absolute credit to the company. I have used other Opticians in the past but rate Boots the best in terms of its personal and professional service.

I had a very positive experience with both Tamar and Stuart being very helpful. In particular Stuart took me through the test stage by stage carefully explaining what was happening and being very informative about the health of my eyes. Both members of staff were very professional and friendly at the same time.

Nothing words can explain, but I have had very good service at Glasgow Sauchiehall store's optician.
It's all good; just keep up the good work.

A big thank you to Carly (Castle Street, Norwich branch) who always greets me with a smile on her face. Super efficient in giving me information re appointments which I am unable to access online. She also straightened both my glasses and sunglasses arms which had somehow got distorted. Really appreciate your help Carly. Thank you.

I feel well cared for when I go to Boots opticians. The staff at my local store are lovely and my eyes were very thoroughly tested. At other opticians I have felt like I am on a conveyor belt but I feel treated like an actual person at Boots.

Disappointing customer service and restrictive policies.

I recently visited the Boots Opticians branch in Stroud for an eye test, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired.

First, they tried to charge £50 for an additional scan, which is significantly more expensive than the £10 OCT scans offered by competitors like Specsavers.

More frustratingly, I asked beforehand if my PD (Pupillary Distance) and monocular PD measurements could be included, and was told the optician would write them down. However, after the test, the optician refused to provide them, stating they only give out PD measurements if you purchase glasses from them.

Withholding these essential measurements feels like a tactic to force customers into buying eyewear directly from them rather than having the freedom to shop around. I expected much better transparency and customer care. Won't be returning.

Everybody was very friendly and helpful. The optician explained why my prescription had changed so much in one eye, and explained how the new prescription could help my condition.

The lady that did the pre-test procedure, including eye measurements and pressure test etc., was friendly and put me at my ease, she also helped me find new frames and select good lenses for my condition, and didn’t rush me with anything.

It’s nice to be treated as an individual.

Visited Boots Opticians in Northwich having my eyes tested as I haven’t been for 8 years. Good news is that my sight hasn’t really changed, therefore no need to purchase new glasses. From the minute I walked into the shop I was greeted in a friendly professional manner.
The optometrist, James, was courteous, friendly and clearly explained everything he was doing as he tested my eyesight.

I had an eye test last week and chose new glasses. From the moment I entered the premises the staff were welcoming and polite.
The whole experience was very pleasant indeed.
My new glasses arrived in three days? Whats not to like?
I have used other companies but Boots is head and shoulders above the competition.
I would recommend them to everyone.

I attended the Lancaster store yesterday at very short notice. The staff Hanz and Ella could not have been more helpful, friendly, thorough and professional.

First class friendly service from all 4 staff members I interacted with. Optician was very thorough and showed me the scans of my eyes and explained what it showed. Attention to detail on trying on new frames to ensure it would be a perfect fit, lining up the position of the lenses by the assistant and checked by another. The assistant doing the pre-scan told me she was in training, but you would not have known. Overall I am very impressed.

GG at the New Milton store did a really great job of making sure the lenses in my glasses were as thin as possible. He sent back the lenses a couple times to make sure they were made correctly. This was very much appreciated. Cassidy was also very helpful when I collected my glasses and made them initial order. Thanks

I was asked to see an Optician as well as Bristol eye Hospital but after making the Appointment the Optician I seen at boots I feel wasn't very interested yes he did do a eye test but I don't think he understand why I was there and when I told him the Hospital supply's my lenses and I didn't need any glasses I feel he lost any interest in me

It was a positive experience for me to be surrounded by staff who know exactly what they need to do to meet my needs and suggest how I can improve my vision.

I have been going to Boots optician in Solihull and over the years have had the odd issue but had the worst experience at my last appt. I was advised by the person doing the assessment that I had macular degeneration. She gave me me a leaflet and Amsler chart and advised me to use it daily and to contact 111 or eye go to Eye casualty if I noticed any change. I asked if I could do anything to help like supplements and she said no but to carry on eating my greens. She could tell by looking at me I ate them. I went home read the leaflet and there are 2 types of MD. I had no idea which I had but googled and read about it and from what I been told felt like I was going to lose my sight very soon.
After a terrifying and stressful weekend I was advised to visit another recommended optician who seeing how distressed I was fitted me on Monday. They have a hospital grade scanner and spent a long time reviewing my scans and showing me the difference between mine and those with MD. They advised on diet or recommended supplements and advised I did not have MD. They did also before the scan there is treatment available if I had it.
I wonder how many other people are given advice or news that is incorrect.
Even had what they had told me been true the way the news was given was disgusting and terrifying. She gave no support whatsoever or hope to me. I also do not eat greens despite her saying she could tell I did.
Needless to say I will not be using them again and advise anyone who has been advised of any condition to get a second opinion from a highly recommended independent optician.
