Birkdale have been brilliant from first contact to installation. Simon came to the property and measured up before promptly providing us with a quote. He was very patient and helped us to choose the most appropriate door for our needs and design preferences. Simon was also fantastic in providing me with a firm date for the fitting of the garage door.

Having been let down by people working on our house in the past, we felt we had finally got lucky with Ryan and Alex! They were professional and friendly from start to finish. They answered all our questions and tidied up after themselves. They also worked around some of the unique features of our house (e.g. random stone pillars with uneven edges) and gave us a few tips for improving the thermal efficiency of the garage. Honestly, they were faultless and we will definitely be ordering our front door from them in the near future.

Found Birkdale online when I broke our 30 year old up and over garage door.

The rep came out quickly to measure up and quote.

Spoke numerous times to the lovely Ellie in the office to take a deposit and confirm the installation date etc.

Ryan and Alex arrived on the day from Scunthorpe (I'm Nottingham) at just after 9:15 am (so I had time for the school runs etc).

Both lads were friendly and chatty, and I felt at ease leaving them to get on with the installation.

The roller garage door looks great, matches my windows, and life is going to be soooo much easier getting in and out to the front now!

Ryan and Alex were tidy workers and left the drive as they found it, taking everything away with them. Very impressed with them and the new door, did a great job! 👍

Not a good company to deal with.
Placed my order on 6th of August 2023, through Costco. The first attempt at installing my garage door on 10th of November (3 months since order) was an absolute disaster, door was too big. Then it was to be installed on 22nd November, door wasn’t delivered. Finally installed on 6th of December 23. Frame and box a different colour from the door. Door colour is mahogany, frame and box front were white. I paid extra to have it laminated the same colour of the door.
Contacted the company, and was assured that this would be put right, with the box being made to the same colour of the door.
Contacted Birkdale in January 2024, to find out when the outstanding work would be carried out, only to be informed that they wouldn’t be sticking to the contract and making the box the same colour, and I would have to find someone that would be able to do it. They did offer to refund the price for colour matching, but only after I asked for it. Also had to chase them for the extra remotes i had paid for, when i enquired about them being programmed, was simply fobbed off with, there will be instructions with them, which was a bit off putting, considering i had paid for everything to to be installed, and in working order. When they arrived, guess what wasn’t included with them, instructions.
My overall experience with this company is poor, they are unable to fulfil contracts, they don’t communicate and their customer service is nonexistent at best.
I can understand why Costco no longer use them.
I’ve given one star, only because the door seems to be pretty good.
Do not use them, find a more reliable supplier.

Update in response to reply from Birkdale - there was no offer of waiting for the work to be carried out, in finality i was simply told that they can no longer source/provide a colour match, and i would have to source it myself. Had i been given the option to wait for this to be rectified, i would have happily done so. Poor response to cover poor service.

So pleased with my new garage door fitted today by Ryan and Chris . You wouldn’t have known they were here except for the new garage door at the end. Very polite and considerate as I was working from home during the fitting and we have a dog . Little noise no mess .. just what you need when having work done and things replaced. They made sure everything was working and gave a demo so I’d know how to use the fob and wall switch .. even has a light that stays on for a time, if using your garage the old fashioned way to park your car .
From start to finish, from the point of ordering to the fitting day .. highly recommend them . Well done lads much appreciated

The two guys arrived from sunny Scunthorpe bang on time to my home in central Scotland.
The coldest day of the year (temp never got above -1c) and the guys worked like trojans for the entire day.
Work was completed to a really high standard, and they did everything possible to avoid disruption to our daily routine.
Even tidied up to a very high standard…..no cardboard or packing materials left on site (which was really pleasing).
In my experience, this was as good as it gets. Very happy.

Placed a order on the 3rd October 2023 and was told 2week delivery and it looks like Christmas will come first.keep saying sorry but that’s not good enough.

This company are the worst company that I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I am a Costco customer and so purchased this garage door through them. Birkdale portrays themselves as a national business but the fact is that they are not. They are a small business that cannot deal with a supplier the size of Costco. I cannot understand why Costco continues to sell these products after seeing the level of dissatisfaction from their customers. I believe that Costco no longer sell Birkdale awnings due to the level of complaints.
My garage door initially arrived damaged in transit but was fitted anyway with the promise of a replacement within two weeks. The door also bangs in light wind to the point that my neighbours have complained. This is ongoing but so far has lasted eight months and thirteen days, which I believe makes me the longest suffering of all negative Birkdale reviewers!
Birkdale’s customer service representatives seem to have no notion of what customer service means, I have been lied to consistently, I have had three wasted days off work for Birkdale to not bother turning up, they have been bought out, they have gone into administration, their one delivery driver has “had bad news”, the replacement parts have been made but in the wrong colour, I have been told that my house is in the wrong location for the door, my house is orientated incorrectly for the door, there aren’t any problems with my door, the door isn’t damaged, my door could have been made of sturdier components but I had to ask at the start.
I have noted that Birkdale’s stock response is to blame 3rd party installers or even to blame customers for having taken incorrect measurements. Well I had the initial site survey done by Birkdale and my house hasn’t changed position or orientation since then. I have also had one successful site visit for a damage survey by Birkdale themselves, who admitted that the sides are too short and damage is occurring on the laths. The young door fitter did offer to bend the sides out to restrict contact but I refused and explained about Heath Robinson……. He didn’t seem to understand. However while I wait for Costco to sort this out, I am informed that Birkdale do not believe that I am due any compensation and that Birkdale expects to charge me for the remedial work! You couldn’t make this up…….. I think this is what happens when a team of incompetents open a business and then just employ their incompetent relatives.
I like many other reviewers will be seeking compensation from Birkdale in the Small Claims Court.
I have also added a photograph of my order receipt because it seems they often can’t find any trace of their customers who are dissatisfied.

Birkdale have responded in their usual idiotic manner, illustrating their incompetence and complete lack of understanding of consumer protection law. I imagine this moronic reply was written by one of the usual culprits. All existing warranty claims must be honoured when purchasing an existing company. Companies House has no information regarding a change of ownership in June this year. Warranty claims do not generate a call out fee with honest reputable companies. Costco have now ceased trading with Birkdale due to the level of customer complaints, and have now sourced a new supplier. The new supplier has already booked a site survey and I will be receiving a brand new well made well installed garage door from them……. Goodbye Birkdale, your exit from this market place is a real win for UK consumers.

A really positive experience from start to finish. The site survey was done in a professional manner, together with a full explanation of door choice and when it would be fitted. We were kept informed of progress of the order and date and time when fitters would arrive. It arrived and was installed on the date specified. The two fitters who were excellent and very pleasant a
worked hard until they finished without accepting the offer of a hot drink even though it was cold and dark by the time they completed the installation they removed every bit of rubbish including the old door. We are very impressed with Birkdale Garage doors and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

If I could give them 0 stars I would.

We brought our new home in March 22 and have gad a constant puddle in our garage whenever it rains. They came out to look at it and we were told our floor was not straight.
We also got told just to buy a seal from Amazon.
After getting an independent snagged in the floor was straight and the door and seal needs fixing.

Birkdale are refusing to take responsibility and say it's out of warranty.

Use this company at your own risk!

Where to begin with this awful company.
5 days taken off work for a garage that was supposed to be fitted in one day. All over the space of 3 months and still they can’t get it right.
Day 1 wrong garage door and fittings sent along with cowboy fitters who admitted they hadn’t fitted a sectional garage door before. As well as lying to my husband about the colour when we questioned them if it was grey even though he could see if was white they said it’s just the wrapping. Garage door left not fitted correctly.
Day 2 The company sent out another company who install garage door to make it secure and accessible after the cowboys left it not useable. This lead the new fitters to discover that the first fitters had actually caused damage to some of the connections that connect the rods and springs.
Day 3 Eventually the other company comes out and replaced the door and fitted the correct tracking so it can be used until the correct colour door and size is made and fitted. My husband was informed this was being processed as a special order and would be made within 2 weeks. But lo and behold we had to wait another 6/7 weeks.
Day 4 Correct door fitted and now the dead bolt hole doesn’t line up, it has been fitted at an angle and isn’t lining up with the original hole made on the tracking. This is an absolute joke so another day of having to wait in for this rubbish company to sort their shoddy workmanship.
Day 5 is this coming Wednesday 1st Nov 23.
Also asked about compensation but got ignored the next step will be small claims court as my husband is sick of chasing and not having his calls returned!

I came across the company through Costco, who still advertise Birkdale even although Birkdale went into administration on 30th June 2023. Our installation, by Birkdale, took place before this but it was an utter disgrace - the doors had to be uninstalled & then re-installed properly by a company subcontracted by Birkdale. This company were good but didn't get paid by Birkdale who went bust. I've ended up paying for remedial work which a director from Birkdale had agreed to pay. Apparently Birkdale have since 'phoenixed' in some form but I certainly wouldn't trust them - broken promises, poor workmanship & being prepared to leave subcontractors & creditors out of pocket says it all.

With the benefit of hindsight, I let my desire to use a British company get in the way of proven track record & it cost me dearly - I should have gone for Hormann doors!

29/11/23 - Bear in mind that the reply below from the ‘new Birkdale’ attempts to neutralise my feedback as it refers to the ‘old Birkdale’ that went into administration, leaving suppliers, subcontractors & HMRC high & dry. The ‘phoenixed’ new Birkdale is run by the same people that demonstrated poor service, broken promises & unsettled financial commitments. I will leave you, the consumer, to ask the question whether the new Birkdale will be able to deliver proper customer service & quality of workmanship or not.

Door was installed over 20 days ago with list of 25 open issues. (including the safety sensor not being installed). False promises of fixing my issues!

Had a garage door fitted under a year ago & rubber seal lifted one end letting in water, sent several pics of it only to be told looks like floor is out !! Amazing as floor was in when fitted & was fine. Want to charge £200 + vat for a call out Disgusting service

Terrible service from Birkdale, it appears they have gone out of business just recently. They have my awning they have my money left damage on my property.a Yes had confirmation today that Birkdale are in administration !! I’m owed over £2K

I wanted an electric door to replace an old "up & over" manual door. They explained the options clearly and I choose the sectional / panel door - bit more expensive but I'm so pleased. Looks great, really secure and I can operate from either the remote or the app. I also got the camera, linked to the app, so I can open the door for deliveries when I'm not in, check they've been left, then close the door! Installation was good - everything left tidy and they took away the old door.

Great service - great doors - Has turned the chore of opening my old garage doors into a thing of Joy - The rollup door is a massive upgrade.
Installation was thorough and some great attention to detail in the sealant finishing and all the little bits plus the tidy up after. Cant recommend them enough

Make doors that work properly and better customer service

Great service from the team at birkdale and the garage door looks fantastic! The team were very knologable and helped me pick the door that was right for me. It make my house so much warmer than before and it feels so much more secure than before.

Just below 5 years old and the drive sheared on the motor.. warranty ..yep, but why do I need to pay £190 call out for something under warranty when the lady at Birkdale tells me "well everything you buy with a warranty will need payment if you need attendance ". The arguments continue... I'm furious! What's the point of a warranty on a specific item and when it fails they will not attend to repair/repace their defective part...there were loads of issues with the installation fitters being unable to install the door on a simple opening, but I let them slide.... the argument on the replacement motor.. Nope, this is going to be argued
