Got my am9 couple a days ago. Based on a three ride experience, bike is just what I expected. Actually even better :) When I was considering buying the bike, Ben was super helpful, even though some of my questions were pretty stupid. And responses for my emails were fast. In the package was nice suprise. I got a 170mm dropper instead of 150mm (which I ordered just because 170mm wasn't in stock).

Only problem was dealing with ups customer service. Delivery didn't come on a promised date and their customer service couldn't help me any way. Same person told me during the same phone call that: "delivery is with the courier at the moment" and "the delivery could be lost somewhere" and at the end of the call she admitted that she have no idea what's the status of delivery is and can't do anything about it. Luckily there was responsible driver called me next day (from his own phone, because ups don't provide phones for the couriers!!). Dealing with the driver was straight forward and finally I got the bike. I think the ups is very bad company, which doesn't care their customers at all. Also working conditions for the drivers sucks. I highly recommend guys in bird to consider a different partner for delivering products.

All in all very good customer experience and the value for the bird bikes is just unbeatable. Thank you guys!

The guys at Bird are really helpful before and AFTER buying a Bird bike. Any question, no matter how small is answered in detail and quickly whether it is via social media, biking forums, email or in person. They are consistently improving their bikes in little ways and offering those upgrades to customers instead of re-releasing the bike with a different paint job each year.

The quality of the bike has been spot on, no issues at all. I keep recommending them to anyone that asks.

I spent months searching for the best 29" hardtail before finally deciding on the Bird Zero 29. I ordered it with a juicy SRAM GX spec and wide trail tyres, then sat back and waited. Just a week later a beautifully packaged bike arrived and off I went. So far I have smashed my way round a couple of my favourite rides in the Lakes and I am so impressed. Great bike to ride, looks fantastic in anodised black, great ordering process. Perfect.

I've just recently purchased a new Aeris 120LT from Bird, and the process was absolutely flawless from start to finish.

The bike itself is beautifully built and rides like a dream, but even better than that are the guys who run the company.

Where else can you just pop in to head office and talk to the frame designer about the sort of riding you do to help you spec the options? No question was too difficult, response was pretty much immediate via email in working hours, and they just exude enthusiasm for their product, which in turn made me totally confident handing over what is, at the end of the day, a pretty large amount of cash!

I've no reason to assume this bike won't last me for a good few years, and when eventually I do decide to move on, I'd go straight back to Bird without the slightest hesitation. :-)

Very pleased with my frame-only AM9. I took Bird’s advice on sizing and the Large is a great fit at my 6ft height. Frame quality is excellent and pricing so good. Bought mine through C2W scheme too.

I recently demo’d the Aeris Am9 29er... kitted out with just about everything Shimano... no sram to be seen lol.
First impression was just how comfortable and plush it felt, I’ve been ridding Spesh for nearly 12 years and remember thinking how nice my expert felt on day one.... this was another level, but then it should be because even with its comparable price point I can’t find anything that comes close to this bikes spec... superb value for money.
It didn’t feel particularly light but climbed very well. Took all the technical nightmares in its stride and came back for more!
Where it really excelled though is down hill... not that it’s a down hill bike but it felt like one. It soaked up everything thrown at it easily... grip was astonishing leaving me wanting to stay out all day despite the rain!
If I have anything negative to say then it’s purely aesthetic... dispite what I’m told about the external cabling and the ease of changing I’d like to see an internal option to tidy it up. also, some better colour options... green, blue, orange and black ain’t exactly a choice lol... the times I’ve liked something but hated the colour!
If it’s performance you want then you can’t go wrong... it practically pedals itself!
Overall a fantastic piece of kit and well justified on the price point.

I bumped into Ben from the company in Hamsterley Forest when he was putting on a demo day. After speaking to him I arranged a demo day of a Bird Aeris AM9 through the website. How many companies allow you to take their bike away for a full days riding?!
Very impressed with the bike, I ordered my own a couple of weeks later. The way they allow you to customise your order is second to none and any questions I had were answered quickly with an email or phone call. I was even able to alter my order while it was in the build queue. No problems at all.
It is clear this is a bike company founded and run my bike riders. This is how direct sales should be done.

I had read lots of good things about the customer service at Bird and all of it is true. The purchasing process was smooth and they were happy to answer any questions and were really helpful with seemingly tough component decisions ;) Investing in a new bike is a big deal, so I really appreciate the level of service that these guys offer. And on top of that the bike is just awesome. Only a few days into ownership of an Aeris AM 9 but so far would highly recommend.
