Very reassuring to be able to speak to a GP 24/7. Monthly payment very reasonable and lots of investigations covered if the NHS wait is too long. Gp was empathetic and didn’t rush me . It’s well worth it.

Disgusting waste of money.
I paid for this membership for 9 years and never used the service.
Now I have a painful and debilitating cist in a very sensitive place and they tell me they don't cover cists.
I wonder what else they don't cover?
I now have to wait up to 43 weeks for the NHS.
I would advise checking very carefully for what other conditions Benenden do not cover, I suspect the list will be extensive.
***Update following Benenden's reply****
I would respond to Benenden's reply by pointing out the following things.
1) Benenden used to offer 'a wide range of services and support', nine years ago when I joined but they do not offer them now. Your 'wide range of services' has been severely wittled down to a fraction of what they used to be.
2) Your 'Welcome pack' was nine years ago and is severely out of date, I don't recall receiving any reduction packs that detailed the services that have been removed.
Benenden should be clear about such things. If you are going to raise the price and reduce the services then you should make it clear, not hide it in the small print.
3) Benenden's list of surgical procedures on their own website clearly states that 'the procedures we cover are Relatively simple, not big, or complicated.
Require less than 24 hours in hospital.
Single operations that don’t need repeat procedures or additional monitoring'
So, you would imagine from that description that a cist would be easily covered by the Benenden policy.
It is NOT covered. Be warned!

Painful shoulder joint replacement
V quick to authorise cover for diagnosis stage for v painful shoulder joint, completed short notice. Then refused to cover procedure of their nominated surgeon/hospital. Procedure is for a W5050 painful & incapacitating shoulder joint replacement.
Note - NHS have long waiting list (min 28 wks)to start diagnosis.
