Returning the car was confusing because there were no parking places to return the car in time. Finally saw a staff member who told to park the car in the area of the other car renting company.

Today is 25 September 2026, 3 years ago I was in Italy and we rented 2 cars from this stupid company, the check-in process was so long for no reason for whatever reason they wanted Cash, but then after arguing with them they agreed with the credit card.

The tires on the cars were not inflated on purpose, be aware to check them because these scammers they'll try to find damages for anything, and they were surprised that I actually inflated them, after that the checkout process was okay.

And of course, the fines for 3 km/h more than is allowed too, I've received 2 of them, and okay I paid for them a year later cause this pseudo-company like to rip off whoever uses them, with an automatic withdraw without any confirmation, that's another thing you guys you need to consider while using the credit card with these scammers.

And now the cherry on top, today after 3 years they sent another letter for a fine that I've already paid 2 years ago via a legal entity, these guys are a total JOKE, I never left a comment to a company before, but you pieces of trash deserves everything that's coming for you.

From the collection, at around 22:00 on a Sunday night, the lady who delt with our hire was polite and personable.
The car was clean, in good condition and the staff were efficient doing the hand back.
Would I use them again? YES

A bit long check in, but the car was really worth the wait👍

Unlawful Secondary Card Sweeps, Fraudulent Charges & Blatant Breach of Contract
​I am demanding the immediate reversal and full refund of €1,745.81 wrongfully charged to my account, alongside the permanent cancellation of all fraudulent claims tied to Rental Agreement No. 202601780304
​1. Complete Disregard for Purchased Protection
At pickup, I purchased Autovia’s top-tier "Freedom Plus HS" protection package, which explicitly provides zero excess (€0.00 deductible) for damage/theft and includes Premium Roadside Assistance. The agreed deposit cap on the contract was €500.00.
​2. Arbitrary Extortion & Unfounded Claims (Ongoing Since July 2026)
Following a mechanical issue where roadside assistance towed the vehicle in July 2026, Autovia went completely rogue:
​They illegally pulled an additional unauthorized €1,000.00 deposit from my account (totaling €1,500.00 held).
​They issued a fabricated invoice for €1,745.81, charging €250 for roadside assistance (which was contractually covered), €915 for "technical standstill," and €578.81 for a "missing second key"—despite only handing me ONE key at pickup.
​3. Refusal to Communicate & Automated Rejections
For weeks, Autovia ignored formal written notices and contractual evidence, responding only with generic automated boilerplate emails rejecting any resolution.
​4. Steps Already Taken & Further Fraudulent Actions
​Bank Chargeback: My primary card provider reviewed the contract and successfully granted a full chargeback for the unauthorized funds.
​EVZ Escalation: A formal cross-border legal complaint has been filed with the European Consumer Centre (EVZ / ECC-Net) for unfair commercial practices.
​Secondary Card Fraud: Once my primary card was blocked, Autovia illegally used stored card tokens to process an unauthorized €1,745.81 transaction on my secondary debit card under a secondary merchant ID (AUTOVIA BOLOGNA CALDERARA DBO) to bypass bank controls.
​Demand:
Autovia must refund the €1,745.81 immediately, cease all illegal terminal-swapping charges, and confirm in writing that this file is closed. A secondary chargeback for card token misuse and network rule violations is actively underway. Stay far away from this company.

I booked a Peugeot 2008 through Ecovia (booking.com) for pickup at Bologna Airport. Instead, I was given an MG ZS, which was declared an “upgrade” — but in reality it was a downgrade in every meaningful way. The car itself was in okay condition, nothing terrible, but it clearly wasn’t the model or class I paid for, and calling it an “upgrade” felt like a way to avoid giving a proper explanation or compensation.

To make things worse, more than three months after returning the car on time and without any issues, I was suddenly charged an additional €265.00 with zero prior notice — no email, no invoice, nothing. I only noticed it by chance when checking my bank statement. I’ve had to contact both Booking.com and Autovia directly to try to get an explanation, and so far there’s been no transparency at all.

Between the misleading “upgrade” and this unexplained charge months later, I can’t recommend this rental experience. Be very careful and keep all your documentation.

What makes my experience look great, was that, the staff were all working professionally

We were very satisfied with the service. The car was in excellent condition, clean, and well-maintained. The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and helpful throughout the whole process. Everything went smoothly from pickup to return, with no issues at all. We would definitely recommend this rental company and would be happy to use their services again.

À notre arrivée à l’aéroport de Palerme, nous nous sommes présentés pour récupérer notre voiture de location. À notre grande surprise, l’agence nous a réclamé 240 € de frais supplémentaires au seul motif que le permis de conduire français était au nom de jeune fille, tandis que la carte nationale d’identité comportait le nom de jeune fille suivi du nom d’épouse.

Malgré nos explications et le fait qu’il s’agisse de documents officiels parfaitement valides, l’agence a refusé de reconnaître qu’il s’agissait de la même personne. Aucune compréhension, aucune volonté de trouver une solution, seulement une exigence de paiement supplémentaire.

Nous nous sommes sentis pris au piège après notre arrivée, sans réelle alternative pour récupérer notre véhicule. Cette pratique est scandaleuse et donne l’impression de profiter des voyageurs une fois sur place.

Je déconseille fortement cette agence. Si vous possédez un permis établi à votre nom de jeune fille et une pièce d’identité avec votre nom d’épouse, soyez extrêmement vigilants. Une expérience décevante qui a gâché le début de notre séjour.
