Great customer support weeks after my booking

Some weeks after having made the unchangeable booking through Athotel, I noticed I made a mistake by my side regarding the check out date. Athotel reached out to the hotel with various arguments on my behalf, after which the hotel showed flexibility and reduced the booking by 1 night as requested. Great support from Athotel with clear communication through WhatsApp.

Just arrived back from a short stay at…

Just arrived back from a short stay at this hotel! Hotel Benczur Budapest
I was not impressed with the hotel as nobody told us it was under going renovations painters in the lobby having to walk on plastic covers with paint splashes drilling and banging starting at 8.00am lobby toilets were also been repainted so closed at certain times
The 24hour reception could not even give us a glass of water the staff in the evening were not very helpful also the residents bar closed at 10pm

Great support service

Great support service, easy to reach, helpful and competent staff. Brian helped us a lot and listened to out needs and proactive acted on it and helped us. Thanks a lot guys, amazing job and great service.

Comfortable and friendly 5* hotel with exceptional dinner events

As well as being a very comfortable, and friendly 5*hotel with exceptional service, they arrange exceptional special dinner events. We enjoy meeting wine growers from around the world, who talk about their vineyards and present their wines which Chef Lisa matches with superb food. There are a range of subjects for special dinners from literary works, to luxury car brands. 17 days of ‘Obsession’ in Jan/Feb each year is a gastronomic delight.

Nope to the Homewood Hilton, French Quarter on Rampart in NOLA…

We have stayed in Homewood Hilton chains over 20 years.. Staff at the Homewood Hilton, New Orleans, French Quarter on Rampart St is nice and friendly. Sadly, staff preparing rooms are incompetent. Our experience for both rooms on this trip is that many items which should be there were missing. We had to call three times for basics like towels, blankets, pillows, coffee, toilet paper dishwasher & dish soap.
We had two suites. The sheets in both rooms are too small for the beds and keep coming off. It looks like queen sheets on a king bed.. when our friends in another suite called because the sheets would not stay on the bed, staff brought the sheets up, handed them to our friends rather than making the bed. During our five day stay, their room was never cleaned until they called on day 4 . They were missing more than our room was missing.
There were only two towels for our party of five, no hand towels, no washcloths, no soap for the dishwasher or soap for the dishes, only one roll of toilet paper. It simply looked like they started the room and didn’t finish.
If they have a checklist, they sure aren’t following it
In general, breakfasts weren’t much better. There was plain bread, and not much of it. In our five day stay we only saw them put pastries out once, no bagels at all, and the one time pastries were put out, they were not replaced. The bread/pastry case was only filled about 10%.
Sausage links served three days were tasteless, shriveled, dry and mainly sort of hard. The eggs were bland.. There was no yogurt or fruit. That it all be generally tasty breakfasts we have enjoyed at other Homewood Hiltons.
Should we decide to return to New Orleans in the future, there is no way we will stay at the Homewood Hilton on Rampart Street in the French Quarter. We expect our rooms to be properly made up when we’re paying over $210 a night plus taxes and fees.

There was a misunderstanding with a…

There was a misunderstanding with a hotel in Porto Portugal featured in @athotel I booked through them for the first time. When I arrived at the venue (it wasn't a hotel) There was no reception and no one that could help me get into my room. I contacted @athotel in the WA they sent me and asked for help. They told me as it was a Sunday afternoon that no one could help me, they tried every phone and mail they had. I had to book another room even though two nights were fully paid.
As the venue was in a very sordid area, full of well yes junkies I didn´t want to come back for another night. I was scared and alone. So I told them, the venue and @athotel that I wanted to cancel and wanted a refund. Later I saw the reviews on trip advisor and saw that actually a lot of people complained of the junkies (my mistake) but I trusted @athotel in their advice. It's been over a week, I had to pay for another place to stay and neither Old City Design Apartments gave me an answer, and I have lost two nights without refund besides the uncertainty of being in a city that I didn't know a language I didn't speak. When I wanted to leave a review in their web: i"Kindly note that the reviews that we have on the website are provided by our hotel providers".

By the way I booked another hotel in Madrid and was very pleased with it.

Il mio assistente si chiamava Omar e mi ha dato indicazioni su come raggiungere l’hotel dall’aeroporto o su ristoranti dove cenare. Consiglio assolutamente

Horrible company never stops spamming you with false advertisement I told him to stop sending me messages and they continue to send and send and send and can’t stop harassing me constantly stay away the minute you type something they start spamming

How athotel took care of me

In October 2023 I was looking for a good option in Hong Kong. Finally I found two options for the same hotell on the website.

One was non refundable and the second was with so called FREE cancellation for a slightly higher price.

For safety reasons I chose the second options. A few days later I cancelled the booking, and it turned out that based on the cancellation policy I was over the date when I could have a chargeback.

There were long discussions and officially I did not have any chance to get my money back which was painful since it was more than $1k. Finally I got a call from athotel and they told me the management decided to give all my money back even though they lost that money, so they had to pay it from their own pocket.

It was a great surprise and fantastic experience.
