I got quoted $80 to come quote to fix my fridge, they came, took off the back panel and without doing anything, its $280 for Labour PLUS parts. The OLD bate and switch!!!! I don't feel they are TRUSTWORTHY. The quote is $280 for Labour to fix(and Estimate) NOT $80 to give me an estimate, they could have quoted me $280 from the get go. I recommend don’t calling them, use someone that’s reputable. $135 for the starter, $468.95 for 30 mins work. UNBELIVABLE, WHO earns $280/hr, or in this case it $560/hr, I think I see the BATE AND SWITCH. In middle of the repair, the guy wants me to make a payment to his office in MID REPAIR...am I missing something???? I said I’ll pay it once I see it up and running! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! When I said to the girl on the phone that this is ridiculous, she says, you'll pay the $80 or we'll send it to collections. Which means the unlawful play on words is going to effect your credit rating. Not worth it for $80!! How can these people get away with this???

TOTAL FRAUD. Charged me $280 for "fixing" my dishwasher. They did nothing. They claimed that my drain pump was the problem and quoted me verbally another $353 on top of the $280 for that part. The repairman tried to rip me off by writing $533 on the contract just for the replacement part. I had to argue with him that his verbal quote was $353, which happened to already be an insane amount of money after I paid $280 for nothing.
I got a referral to someone else who came and diagnosed the dishwasher and said it wasn't even my drain pump, this is after I told the new guy to buy a drain pump and install it. So I ended up paying another $$$ for a different part and installation, but at least the guy was honest and reliable and fixed my appliance.
Appliance Repairman is a total FRAUD and unfortunately I fell for their fraudulent company. DO NOT USE THEM EVER.

Total fraud Never ever call them. 100% scam. Doing nothing, know nothing and charging money before touching the equipment and Then just run away with your money.DAY LIGHT ROBBERY ONLY

I needed to have my built-in microwave fixed and appliancerepairman.ca seemed like a reputable company.

Wrong. It turned out to be an expensive nightmare.

I was quoted $80 for the initial inspection. When the tech guy arrived, he even had the invoice filled out right to the bottom line.

Things changed when he realized that owner of the house (me) was out of town and that I was a woman, and that my tenant, a lovely man, was Muslim. I'm guessing this combo of people tempted him to see if he could squeeze me for more.

On the phone he was condescending, explaining how a microwave worked as if talking to a toddler, then told me that he could service it and most likely repair it for about $280. I said that was fine.

Apparently, he crossed out the old figures on the invoice, scribbled in the new numbers and had my tenant sign it.

My tenant, thinking that the cost was too high, questioned the tech guy about it. He responded, “Not to worry, if the microwave needs new parts, they won’t charge for the installation, just the parts.”

He spent ten minutes looking at the microwave then informed my tenant that he couldn’t fix it, that it needed two parts.

That ten-minute cursory glance cost me $316 after taxes.

He said they would be in touch and left.

I week later, I got a new quote for the installation and the parts - $570. So, they were going to charge me $850 to fix a microwave that cost me about $600 to purchase.

I spoke to two customer service reps and they refused to bend on the cost. They said that the initial $80 was just for the technician to show up and the door, not the inspection. They didn’t state this when I booked them. When I asked about their hourly rate, they said they didn’t have one and their fees weren’t time based. So essentially the techie could charge whatever he wanted.

So, I fired them.
