Be careful with this company and they go by different names or send technicians from different companies. In my earlier review I wrote about appliance repairs. The same day I called another company called repairs and care. The technician came and said he does not have part to repair the water line pipe for refrigerator as it’s weekend. I asked him to get it from homedepot. He mentioned he is working for three companies and has to leave and be back next day with the part. Took $100 without fixing anything. Had to shut off main water valve and he took the sample from water line pipe that goes into referigerator. Next day I tried to reach the technician and the company but no one picked up the phone. In the evening got call from appliance repairs instead and was informed that it was them who had send the technician day before and would get back to me on the status after checking with technician. No one called me back after that. I got the part from Home Depot finally and fixed it myself and left voice message with the company to not send the technician.

I was told a service fee of $80 would be due unless they were able to repair the problem then it would be deducted from the labour cost. I paid, and the repairman then fixed some things and finished up by saying “the computer on the oven isn’t working”. The repairman did not fix it. And after he left o couldn’t even turn my oven on!! When speaking to supervisors to get a refund or a fix for the problem, they simply said “I’m sorry you feel that way.” I was hung up on twice and no one ever returned my calls as promised. I feel completely taken advantage of and swindled out of $300 and still have a broken oven. WORST SERVICE EVER. Don’t waste your time or money.

what a bad , shamming company this Appliance Repairman is, should of google the reviews, absolutely stay away from this unprofessional scamming company. Repairman Ali shows up in his 4 door small car, just a Dewalt bag , few tools. i was told on phone it’s $80 service call fee, ok, but when Ali comes in, tells me it’s $280 to check out my Kenmore Elite fridge?? i thought that’s the $80 was? wrong. it’s now went from $80 to $280. said he would troubleshoot and fix but if needed parts, then more. So he so called did his check, said it needed to reset the main board, cooling system and the electrical circuits. Took longer to take off the back plate , then it took his so called diagnostic check and reset. Then said all is good and would take 5-6 hrs to cool down and freezer to be at working temperature. Next day NOTHING is cooling or freezer not working.
i call them and the girl Ashly, tells me i need a NEW COMPRESSOR??
i said how would you know this? she said was on Ali’s reports, he NEVER mentioned this , said all was good.
and a compressor they quoted was $1000. yes additional $1000 on top of the $280 i paid for NOTHING.
I asked her for the mother board test readings to verify that it is the Compressor. And of course she has no readings , where did she herself come up with this, do they follow a script???
Just a bad, bad company. Total scam artists, please do NOT get ripped off by these people.
my next call is to the Better Business Bureau.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I had problems with my fridge and asked for a repairman to come see it. I was given an appointment for the next day which was then rescheduled for later in the day which was then AGAIN rescheduled for another day. Received another call the next day asking if the technician can come in instead on Family Day which I declined since it is a holiday so they sent in the technician another day. All together, they tried to give me 4 different appointments which obviously led to confusion.

When the technician showed up late to the agreed time we had (finally) agreed on, I tried turning him away and telling him that we were frustrated with their company and had already called another technician but HE WOULD NOT LEAVE OUR DOORSTEP and demanded a $90 service fee for his trip.

He then calls his receptionist to literally fight us on his behalf and argues that it was our fault for not having the accurate appointment time. This was the rudest, most unprofessional receptionist I have ever come across and argued with me over the phone for 20 mins. She insisted I pay them by the next day or they would call a collection agency. All of this could have been avoided if they had given me a solid appointment time and not rescheduled so many times and or if they at least gave me a bit of warning that they were coming to my house as most technicians do.

Eventually, since they were already forcing us to pay him for his trip over, we let him see the fridge. He said it would cost at least $500 to fix. The next day, we had another technician fix it for $300.

These are clearly not only an extremely sketchy and unprofessional company, but they are scammers. Don't waste your money on them.

Stay away from this company. I called this company to fix a leaky fridge and the repair man insisted that the motherboard, watering system and defrost system need to be serviced to find the leak.This costed $280. The repairman then repaired the leak with duct tape. he also informed me that if the leak persists to repair it with another $350. This repair man could’ve given me the option to repair or to replace for nearly the same cost this repair man was dishonest. It looked quite obvious where the leak was coming from and therefore the servicing was not required. As I had another technician look at the fridge and within two minutes the leak was found without the need to service the fridge. I bought the part for $94 and replaced it within 30 minutes. Please save your money and stay away from this company. Could you believe they offered me $35 to keep quiet.

As many people have already mentioned, stay clear of this company. I am usually one to always do my research, but being busy with 2 kids and work I decided to just take my chances and call this company up to come and repair a washer that was making load noises on the spin cycle. I knew it was the bearing so I called them in. The technician arrived and insisted he had to run a full diagnostic and that it was a Main Board issue. He never listened to the noise I was complaining about, I insisted that he runs a cycle to listen to the noise. Sure enough when the noise starts he tells me it is the bearing. He then charges me $120 for mainboard diagnostic (pushing a few buttons), $160 to wait to listen to the original noise complaint on the spin cycle. At this point I am $280 in, just to confirm what I already knew. He then informs me that the cost of the bearing is $396, (I later found this part retails for $120) and the total repair would cost $764. He insisted the machine was worthwhile fixing. I once again, due to a lot going on at the time agreed to go ahead get the unit repaired without looking into the pricing of a new one and paid $540 upfront. He shows up a few days later, not at the scheduled agreed time, with the part, and proceeds to totally wreck the unit, he had no clue what he was doing. I caught him several times watching You Tube videos on how to take apart the unit. He did not have the right tools to even do the job. After 4 hours of slapping the unit back together he fires it up, the unit starts spitting all sorts of error codes out. He calls his boss and proceeds to pack his stuff up and leave telling me I would get a call back. During the process of trying to repair the machine he smudged the walls with grease (this is a finished laundry room) as well as scratched several areas. He also spilt an adhesive on the bottom inside of the tub and failed to close the top part of the machine flush with the base. So I was left with a wrecked unit (that was previously working), glue all over the inside of the tub and my laundry walls covered in grease, scratches and dents. And the best part was that I had already paid $540. After days trying to call up management and being told I would get a call back I finally received a call the day before they insisted on coming back to finish the work (2 weeks later due to delays). I wanted a full refund less the true retail cost of the part on the basis that the unit was irreparable at this point. They would not guarantee their work and I did not want them stepping foot back in my house. The best I got out of them was a partial refund on the part which as mentioned costs around $120 retail. I managed to get $224 dollars back, leaving me out of pocket $316 and a broken unit.
Stay a mile away from this scam of a company, the fact that they are still in business is astonishing. I figure there are many people who made the poor choice that I did. I ended up buying a brand new unit for $749 with 5 year warranty, if it fails after 5 years its being replaced with a new one. These companies are shooting themselves in the foot as nobody is going to bother trying to get them repaired if this is how the appliance repair business is being run. Lesson learned the hard way!

Please, please, please save your money and do not use this company. Just before Christmas, our Bosch dishwasher went on the blink (constantly draining and wouldn't shut off) and I called for a service call. A technician was sent to our home - the day he came, the dishwasher worked through a cycle and so he said there was nothing wrong with it, charged us $80 (the agreed upon fee) and left. Within a few days, the dishwasher started doing the same thing as before - drain cycle would run and run and never stop.

I called back and asked them to send someone again. I requested I not be charged the visit fee as we had already paid $80 for basically nothing a few days before. They said they would reduce it to $50. The repairman came, looked at my dishwasher and said, "I know exactly what it is. I just need to make an adjustment to this valve here." He then proceeded to tell me it would cost $320 to do the repair. I thought, "obviously there's more to it than just adjusting a small valve." I questioned him on the amount and whether it was worth it or not. He said my dishwasher was over a $1,000 machine and it would be worth it because this simple fix would help it last a long time yet. I reluctantly agreed - signed the invoice for a $320 repair that would supposedly fix my dishwasher. I went to the other room to let him do his work.

Less than 30 minutes later (I was shocked!) he said he was done and the dishwasher would work fine now - but I shouldn't use it for a couple of days to let the water in the pan underneath dry out, otherwise it would still continue to think it needed to run the drain cycle.

Also, in the meantime, he had written "Problem not solved - Need new valve assembly $375" on the contract I had signed previously. When I questioned him about this he said, "the problem is fixed, but if it ever happens again in the future, this is what you'll need to do." I asked him why I should pay the $320 for the 30 minutes "labour" he did (no new parts) when I might have to pay another $375 later. He assured me that it was fixed and this was only if something happened down the road in future. I didn't want to pay, but he wouldn't leave my home until I did.

We didn't use the dishwasher for a few days - just to make sure the water had dried up as he instructed. Then on Christmas Eve, we ran a cycle. The dishwasher started up and ran through part of its cycle and then stopped partway through. This had never happened before. Usually, it would run the whole cycle and just get stuck on the final drain cycle. So - not only did he not fix the problem he created another one. Later that evening, I went to my basement and noticed water on the floor. Further investigation showed that now my dishwasher was actually leaking - which it had never done before. Not only did he not fix my dishwasher, but after he 'worked' on it, it was now mysteriously leaking.

It was Christmas Eve and I was WILD. So angry - and the next day was Christmas day. We had people around and a big meal so no time to do anything about the problem. Boxing day I went online and found a great deal on a dishwasher, half price. I purchased it and installed it myself (what I should have done in the first place). Then I called the company a couple days later to complain and was told there was no one in the office who could speak to me about that, could they call me back. Two weeks later I still hadn't received a call, so I called back, asked why no one had called me and told them this whole long story again (they said they had no record of my first call). After being put on hold for a long period of time, the person came back on the phone and said that according to their records, there was no issue and I didn't qualify for any kind of refund. I wasn't even asking for all the money back, just some meaningful kind of consideration for the fact that they hadn't actually repaired anything. They offered me what they called a "$50 goodwill refund", but of course they would need me to sign a waiver before they sent it. I got the waiver in my email about a week later. Signing it would require me to not bring any kind of action against their company and also bind me to non-disclosure to any third party about my experience. So I told them to keep their $50 because I want to tell anyone who will listen never to use this company. They are deceptive and conniving and you will be better off buying a new appliance than working with these people!

Technician came and I explained what I had encountered. He then turn on my washer and soon he determined the problem are from the main board and safety system. He gave me a quote of total cost of labour $280.00 plus tax. I decided to fix it for the amount he quoted me. He immediately asked me to sign the contract for this work. I didn't look at the contract of the detail and signed as I thought is such a big company. They shouldn't do anything too tricky to me. After that, he found out the drum was broken to cause the spin problem. I particularly asked him: Is not the main board and safety system issues? He said no. I asked him how much it will cost to replace the drum. He said around $400 CND. I immediately said no to him and I told him I would rather buy a new one. He insisted I should fix it as the old machine is way better than the new machine in the market. After I discussed with my husband, we decided to purchase a new one. I turned to the technician and said; let me pay you $80 for your visit and we are not going to fix it. He didn't say anything and passed me the machine. I tap on the machine and it didn't work. I turned the machine back to him and he asked me to insert my credit card. Once I insert my credit card and I realized the amount is $280 plus tax and total is $316.40. I told him why you charge me this amount and you didn't do any work and not even because of the main board and safety system problem. He went to me the $80 just for him to show up in my house. The total cost is for him to determine what wrong with the machine. I said there is no way you spend less than 20 minutes in my house and no work to be done to charge me this amount. That's is totally rip off. I am only willing to pay $80 for the technician to come and check my machine. The technician left my house and left me the signed contract. He told me his office will call me. I got a call today from the office. They said the same thing as the technician. I have to pay the whole amount that I signed no matter how hard I explained. I decided to file a consumer complaint through Consumer Protection Ontario.

Do not use this company!
Our Bosch dishwasher was not working..it had an error code. Repairman came and said he “honks the drain pipe was dislodged” and “fixed it”..no interest in the error code. As he was leaving, he said “if it dint work it’s the entire pump”...but “I’m confident it was just the tube”...with it the hour, same problem, took 5 days to get the guy back. He defected and said it’s his company not him. He denied saying what he said, and the part would be $300 plus labour $200 minimum!!! We r half way to a new dishwasher, and I already payed $316 fir a “dislodged tube”...head office useless, said I got what I signed off on...but never got the problem fixed. Another company fixed it for $200...done :) this is the most dishonest company all around! Will advoate to never use this company. Their don’t allow real customers to review...that is concerning!

On Feb 1/2019 I had Appliance Repairman come out to repair my GE built-in wall oven. The man who arrived had no knowledge of how the oven was supposed to work. I showed him that the upper and lower elements were not coming on when I turned the oven on. He looked at it and fiddled around a bit and then without communicating anything with me at all he starting writing out the bill and listed new parts: ...a main board, a heating system???, and an electrical connector. I asked him what he was writing. The service man said I was not getting enough amperage to run the stove so he was ordering new parts. I then asked him if he had checked the electrical box. (I should have done this myself before I called for service but I had not thought of it until I learned he was going to order all these parts at a cost of $280 plus labour). And so now that I had mentioned it he checked the electrical breaker box located beneath the built-in oven. That's all the oven needed to operate properly was for the breaker to be put back on. He had never bothered to check it but instead was very anxious to charge me for unnecessary parts and labour without being thorough in his inspection of the oven. He made no apology for his ineptness or error. I paid him $90.40 for the call.
I called the company on Feb. 4th and spoke with Stephanie who is supposed to be their manager (she would not connect me with someone above her to speak with me on the phone). She apologized that I was unhappy with the service I had received. She seemed pretty unconcerned that I had almost been charged for unnecessary parts and labour.
I am grateful that I had the presence of mind to ask the serviceman if he had checked the electrical box otherwise I would be out several hundred dollars. I will not use this company again as their serviceman was either not skilled or thought I was stupid enough to pay for unnecessary work and parts. Be aware!

Our freezer was not working so we called Appliance Repairman to come and diagnose it for 80 dollars, or so we thought. He came and told us we needed a new thermostat so we agreed for him to fix it. He was there for just over an hour, charged us 497.20, told us everything was in working order and left. Next day our freezer was still not working so we called again and they said they would send repairman again but not until after the weekend. Come the weekend our freezer is now warm and affecting the coolness of our fridge as well. We had to put our food in a cooler on our deck in the middle of a snowstorm in order to salvage our food. We called customer service but they did nothing to help us. Said the repair man doesn't work weekends. He came back on the Monday and opened the freezer and I could hear him You Tubing what was wrong with my freezer. I was livid. He proceeds to tell me we need a new compressor and it will cost me over 1000 dollars. I said why didn't you tell me that 4 days prior and he said he didn't check. Doesn't a diagnosis mean you check the appliance from top to bottom to see what issues it may have?? If he had told me I needed a new compressor plus a thermostat I never would have agreed to any repairs, paid the 80 dollars and moved on. I can buy a brand new state of the art fridge for 1500!!! Instead I paid almost 500 hard earned dollars for these people to further break my fridge. To boot he said we couldn't pay by credit card only debit or cash, now I know why, they are a bunch of scammers and crooks. Don't ever use this company, ever!!!

I anticipated a seamless repair to my GE fridge purchased in 2015. Sure they can come right away but beware of the charges, $80 to show up, total $316.00 to do a 30 min diagnostic and tell me I need a new fan motor. More time spent undoing the screws holding the panel. Sure no problem order me a fan motor, another 30 minutes on the phone to tell me the Part is no longer available but if I pay they $316 once the office can source the part, I would only have to pay for the part not installation when he came back. Okay waited 2 days called the company and was told the part not available, I said was anyone going to tell me or call me back???
So I called GE they said part not available but I was able to source the alternate part online and placed order myself.
I have put my fridge back together myself. Waste of time and money. The technican was trying to be honest but said he could not control the business and did not want feedback. He said he just does what he is told....

January 2nd, 2019 contacted Appliance Repairman to come take a look at my electric wall oven. Was told the service fee will be $80 and I told them every single information about my oven (serial #,make of the oven etc.) just to make sure they have experience with repairing this European oven. Instead when the technician came he charged me $316.40 instead of $80.00 and my oven was still not working! Not only did he not fix my oven but also damaged my cabinet wood which surrounds the oven! I called the company back and was told that I need a mother board. After 2 weeks (after nobody approaching me) I called the company and was told the mother board is not available. I told them to refund me the rest of the money so I can go and purchase a new oven and get my cabinet fixed. Instead both managers of customer service, "Sonia" & "Mariam" told me no refund will be given and that they cannot help me further! Till today I am without an oven and spent $316.40 for no reason!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!

This company will rip you off ! You don't want anything to do with them .

Whatever you do Do Not I repeat DO NOT call these people I swear they’re not repair neither certified people. Just punch of scammers starting with the people who answer the phone n they always send same guy who has no idea what appliances mean. He will come open your appliances, ruin it more and mess it up even more and leave it 100% not working. Just for opening it he will make you sign that you have to pay 380$ not including fixing it or parts ( cus guaranteed he cannot fix it ) he will pretend he’s doing something for 10 min. Doesn’t even know how to put stuff back the correct way!!! Leaving everything hanging, charges you money for just opening machine. Then he will say if u want me to fix it will cost $$$$. He lied n said he’s certified who was complete lie!!! I called the number on my appliance LG real certified tech came fixed everything on the spot and charged fractions of what these people charge n gave me 6 months guarantee warranty from an LG certified real numbers u can find inside ur appliance.

Bunch of scam artists for sure! Ice dispenser stopped working on my fridge had them come out said it was the control module or something was fried... said he could fix it and did but didn't look as though he even replaced anything but hey it works now... cost me $280.... while he was there he said the door flap where the ice comes out was broken and wasn't sealing right and warm air was getting into the freezer and needed replaced. He tried to get a price on the part but said he couldn't because their part supplier was closed and that someone would call me in a day or 2 with a price... low and behold after a week and no phone call I called them back and was told they were still trying to get a price and that a tech would call me back later that day with a price....again no phone call back..... called again a couple days later waited on hold for 10 mins and was told the part I needed wasn't sold on its own and that it would cost me $1050+tax just for the part because I essentially needed a whole new door.....hmmmm funny when I bought the fridge 7 years ago I didn't even pay $1050+tax for the whole damn fridge!!! Went online with the model # of my fridge and found the part I needed for $72.... quite the difference in prices.... stay away and do what I wish I did and research and look at the reviews before you hire somebody

Beware of this unscrupulous company. I was scammed by a con artist technician with no integrity on Friday Jan 4, 2019. My 12 year old front loading washing machine presented with a loud clunking sound at the final spin cycle. Nicholas diagnosed the problem as a broken drum. His list of repairs totalling $361.60 showed a rotation system service, motor service (the motor worked fine..??) and a drive/bearing service, on the invoice. None of which he actually performed. When he was done playing around with my machine, pulling it out and pretending like he was fixing it (as I now know), he told me he tested the washer and it was working fine. As soon as he left I tested it myself and the problem was even worse. The sound was louder and I could now hear something metallic and loose rolling around with the spinning as well.
At the same time as his diagnosis he said that if the issue returns I must replace the rear drum and bearing: $528.64 + HST. He wrote this on the invoice and asked me to sign. This is where I became suspicious and had a strong feeling I was being hoodwinked. He was setting me up in the hopes of getting the second more expensive repair from me. Somehow my signing solidified his hopes of being able to rip me off.
I called the company immediately after I ran my test cycle, suggesting they send back a more experienced technician to actually fix the problem and was told that I was speaking to dispatch and there was nothing they could do. Someone would call me Monday or Tuesday next week. No one ever called.
On the following Monday I had a reputable technician come in to have a look at the washer. I wish I had called him first but I couldn’t remember his name then I Iater came across a fridge magnet with his number on it. He had repaired my previous washing machine. He is an honest and experienced sole proprietor.
He said the drum was broken – and showed me the exact spot. He said that you can’t fix this. He advised against a new drum because of the high cost and who knows what else may be broken once you remove it – the machine being older. Best to buy a new one. I asked him if I was lied to and he said 100% yes.
Was the Appliance Repairman technician (Nicholas) incompetent or a greedy thief taking advantage of a single and senior woman? Draw your own conclusions.
Something else questionable on the invoice is this clause:
“I acknowledge that the appliance and its surroundings have been left in good condition and have not been damaged by an appliance repair technician.”
Why would you have to include this unless you have had technicians being accused of such?
Recap: I paid $361.60 and took a half vacation day off work to have my machine looked at and NOT repaired plus $40 for a decent service person to advise me I need a new machine. I acknowledged I would have to pay Appliance Repairman an additional $528.64 if the problem persists. Don't trust them.

NEVER USE THIS BUSINESS
After paying the $316 to have a 18mth old LG washing machine repaired, the repair actually made the issue worse and now has completely decommissioned my machine.
They do not take ownership for anything, do not return calls, and when you finally are able to "escalate" your issue you are simply told that you have to pay more money. I have been trying to resolve this issue for over a week and all they do is leave me on hold and then hang up. COWARDS.
Based on principal alone, I would be willing to initiate legal proceedings. Beware, they have been featured in the Toronto Star as a horror story, have hundreds of complaints against them on BBB along with changing the company name 3 times.
I wish I would have done my research before using them. The owner and ALL STAFF should be ashamed of themselves for endorsing a complete scam of the general public.

My washer was having intermittent issues with starting/shuting off and i called Appliance repairman as they offered same day service. After the service tech arrived, he seemed to understand the issue and went ahead with recommending a service on control board and safety control system and suggested this would cost $280.00 at which point unikely any parts etc would be required...i was reluctant to spend this money but after being reassured washers of age of 10 or so - tend to last longer and if the control board safety feature was fixed we would likely have many more years of working condition. After performing the work on my washer machine - right before he left - he then told me - that what he did may not fix it 100% or permanently becasue there was a short in my control board but felt what he did should work - and then last minute put on the bill that i need a control board - so what he was saying vs what he put in writing seemed to contradict itself. At 600 for a new control board plus the $280 in service call - i felt that i was taken advantage of - because we started the conversation with whether it was worthwhile even fixing a 10 year old machine and repairman was confident he could fix....Also this is difficult to review - however need to say - i had to open all my windows once the repairman left due to the body odour - i found that very offensive.

I wish I had taken more time to read up on reviews of Appliance Repairman. My refrigerator breaking down over Christmas holidays left me looking for help quickly. Other companies were days until someone could come so I accepted the $80 service charge. After a few minutes the serviceman Nicholas ‘diagnosed’ the problem and could fix it for a labour fee of $280 plus hst total $316. After 15 minutes of what I now conclude was just fiddling around with wires he said it was the motherboard and would get back to me with cost of part. A few days later I was quoted $590 plus tax for the part which I said was ridiculous so they quickly lowered the cost to $530 which raised a red flag with me. They then said I needed to fill out a cc form paying for half the part up front and fax it to them..another red flag so I did not proceed. I then turned to the reviews and am sickened that I’ve been scammed. I will be following the advice of Sylvia Duckworth and going after these theives for my money back.
