The account is active within days and battery charging and discharging has made a big difference to our bill. No other retailer will also get you access to wholesale prices which are far below any other retailer.

I’ve been with Amber for 5 years or so. I’ve been involved with early trials of smart accessories - such as hot water service heating that heats during the cheapest parts of the night. I’ve always found Amber to be transparent with fees and how they make their money, as well as their motive to shift people’s power usage towards cheaper parts of the grid time (which is all about the overall system moving to renewable energies).

When I have had to communicate with them they’ve been quick to communicate and resolve my questions.

Everything went very smoothly. The transition was seamless. Just had our 1st bill and it was a pleasant surprise. The only thing was that our daily supply charge was higher than we'd been quoted. Unfortunately our batteries are not supported by Amber yet so once that happens I'm sure the bills will be even better

I had a billing error on my account, but customer support ( Jasmine) fixed it fast. She was very polite, clear, and resolved the issue on the first call. Excellent service and very helpfully. A Trusted Clompany.

For context, I had a problem with the NMI registered to my property (new duplex) which I only found out was happening after installing my solar and battery.

Their customer service team (Nisa for handling my initial inquiry, then Adam metering team specialist) were amazing to work with. Quick to reply, proactive in keeping me updated throughout the process, and willing to answer any of my questions. The issue was resolved end-to-end, just yesterday (6 Aug 2026).

Never had a better experience with any other CS team from this industry.

Amber have been easy to deal with in making saving by using solar and selling/buying power to the grid.
The wholsale prices are better than what traditional power companies buy & sell at. Our new, updated from 19yr old solar and AlphaESS 13.99 kWh battery has been suppling our house running 98% of our household use. Even when recently we had 3 days cloudy rainy days we still were able to sell back twice our homes usage.
As we get further to 100% renewables I wholeheartedly recommend Amber to look after the buy/sell part of your home solar transition. $25 fee and you get the best prices to sell back excess electricity you can produce from your rooftop solar and battery.
Be aware that your current owner of the poles and wires who supply your grid power will need to fit smart meters and they can take up to 4weeks to do so at no cost to you. They won’t offer any info on which VPP ( virtual power plant) to use because they want to keep you paying more and them paying you as little as possible for the power you generate from solar. Our selling to grid price was 0.03c per kWh SFA and Amber average $0.15kWh and sometimes e en much more.
Amber has been great and can only get better as they grow.

I recently switched to Amber as my installer uses them and the experience has been great. Their communication has been clear, and the support team has been really helpful with SmartShift onboarding, the N61 Prosumer Tariff, and setting up my Tesla Powerwall 3 + Expansion 3. Billing is transparent, and everything has been easy to understand. Very happy with the switch.

I had a very disappointing experience with Amber. I called them repeatedly over the last four days because I was arranging electricity for my new house. Each time, I was told that someone would contact me or come out either that day, the next day, or in the morning or afternoon—but no one ever showed up or followed through.

After waiting for days without any progress, I decided to switch to another energy provider. When I called Amber to let them know I no longer needed their services, they simply said “OK” without offering any apology or acknowledging the inconvenience they had caused.

The customer service was very unprofessional and lacked responsibility. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Amber

Our solar panel and battery system was installed just two weeks ago so this is a preliminary review. The process of onboarding with Amber was complex but interaction with staff was positive, prompt and helpful.
The Amber app is complex but promises to automate the process of engaging with the electricity wholesale market.
I will be able to provide a better review after a few months of use.

We have had nothing but issues with Amber through the whole process. I’m a Solar installer myself and have a 30 kilowatt solar system and 50 kW battery and I pay more on my bills now than I did before I even had Solar

It is the biggest scam in modern marketing and I hit you with all these hidden demand charges

I will NOT pretend that everything went swimmingly with my introduction to Amber. This was principally associated with an overly high setting of the Minimum SOC in my battery and the onset of cold rainy weather in SA that went on with low solar, day after day.
Once I established contact with the Amber support people, they worked hard to resolve the intricacies of connectivity between Amber and my FoxESS battery. It took time but their kind and friendly communication gave me confidence to keep going unto things were resolved.
This significantly boosted my overall confidence in Amber.
I realise that I’m going to have to see a WHOLE year through of different weather to get a final assessment of the value of Amber compared with other electricity suppliers.

The speed with which corrective action was taken.
I reported an apparent error with my battery storage capacity and that indicated on the Amber App.
Within 2 minutes I received a reply validating my concern.
After forwarding my Installer's confirmation of Battery size, the issue was resolved one hour later.
I'm happy with that!

The team at Amber (Mark, Shiva and Nadia) were great with my onboarding and getting a couple of complications sorted. Looking forward to a positive relationship with Amber going forward.
