Long story short

First dealings with AES was 2022 offering free health inspection on inverter and panels and a Tom K came out and said all okay, however would need looking at sometime in the future.
In March 2024 had another call regarding health inspections on both, where a Matt Walker came, I was told there was a fault on the system, however he had rectified it, but the inverter was old and may not last too long, at which, I became quite alarmed, so kept and eye out.
On 6th June my water heating system wasn't working via the panels, and immediately thought my inverter wasn't working, so got hold of AES, they got someone to come out on 11th and it was Tom K again, he looked at inverter and came down with a fault message on his phone. He told me a needed a new inverter and went through all the different systems, however he recommended I had and convinced me I needed the most expensive system at £5,495, as it was the best and I would get the best results, it would include having my panels rewired and cleaned. I started to panic about how I would pay for it, then realised I had some savings, I could use.
Tom K rang his boss Tom Lydamore about my inverted and both came to the conclusion I needed the solar edge at the above price. Tom K had taken photos of my panels, which had pigeon netting around them. Tom L obviously looked at photos and started to try and get me to replace the netting at a cost about £1500, which I told him NO, but he kept on about it.
After pressure from both Toms, I went for the top range inverter, and Tom K left with a bit smile on his face!
I got a phone call from Tom L, saying they could fit the inverter on 21st July, which was arranged, then called back saying they could do on 14th June as they were working in the area. So they duly came 2 hours late, as they had given the fitter a job before mine, but hadn't told me!
After fitting it, checks were done to make sure my I-Boost was working okay, however I noticed that whereas I usually had a symbol flashing when it was heating by solar, it wasn't and I pointed this out at the time, however the fitter switch it onto Boost for 15 mins and said it was working. Fitter left leaving on Boost on for 15 mins.

The water heating system still wasn't working, so in a panic called my plumber out, he came round and tested all wiring in the airing cupboard, and found the wiring from the I-Boost cable to the hot water tank wasn't working, so took the top off, where the wiring went into the hot water tank, only to find that the wire to thermostat in the tank had burnt out, to which he said, no inverter fitter would ever have worked to heat the water tank!
So the plumber fitted a new thermostat into the cylinder and cable from I-Boost to the cylinder, and immediately the I-boost started to flash until the cylinder reached its temperature and it switch itself off. To-date it is working fine!
Today 24th July, two fitters have finally been back to finish what they should have done before, which included cleaning my panels and also set-up the monitoring of what the panels are producing. The fitters were both very polite.

I just feel I have been treated with contempt and feel very aggrieved that these two Toms could have taken advantage of me! I am of the age where I thought you could trust people, I have learnt a very hard lesson in life!

Decided to upgrade my solar panels, eco Solutions were brilliant, 2023, went back to them in 2024 and upgraded again with battery installations once again they were excellent . Staff are always friendly, helpful and professional, nothing is too much trouble.I highly recommend this company

So glad I chose to use Alternative Eco Solutions. I purchased a full set up from them including batteries and panels, I was taken through all the information regarding what system that would work best for myself by the director Louie Taylor and I could not thank him enough, he was very professional and thorough with all the information he was providing me and got me an excellent deal on the system purchased. If your ever looking into buying anything regarding solar I couldn’t recommend Louis and the company enough.

What a company. Super super happy with the whole experience from start to finish, had a 16 panel system installed and I feel like i’ve hit the jackpot. Affordable prices and hopefully my electric bills start coming down. I dealt with one of the directors called Louie throughout, he designed the system and talked me through it every step of the way, was never too ‘salesy’ and never pestered me into making a decision, I CALLED HIM to place the order. Whenever i’ve had a quote from other companies I get 5/6/7 phone calls per day, not with Louie, he was professional, well spoken and possibly made me feel the most comfortable i’ve ever felt and it was all from the office, you are a credit to the company and I believe that is everything you told me the company stands for come from a cracking fellow like yourself, exceptional. I will recommend Alternative Eco Solutions to all of my friends and family, install went smoothly and I now feel like the million dollar neighbour, one happy customer, what a pleasure it’s been, thank you Louie and the Alternative Eco Solutions team, fantastic stuff.

We decided to look at batteries for our solar panels and Tom took the time to explain fully what needed doing and a cost. His team were so efficient and professional always taking time to talk me through it . We were so happy we have decided to install three more batteries . Always at the end of the phone and keep you in the loop all the way through . Highly recommend.

Done some work that was being messed around with by others have now piece of mind highly recommend as a company and do what they say they will do one stop shop as far as I’m concerned

After great concentration and the spiral in cost of our energy bill we decided to bite to bullet and invest in solar. I was very sceptic at first and after reviewing 9 diffrent company quotes we decided to go with eco solutions. There quote was very competitive and after specking to tom the director of the company we felt eco solutions was our best option. I wouldn't normally leave a review on anything to be honest but after the eco solutions team came out very promptly after us agreeing on our install this was very swift with no obstacles or trying to sell me anything more. we couldn't be happier with our decision to chose such a great company not only did the install go smoothly i was shocked to get a visit from tom the director a month later to check we was happy with the Product iv got to say a great install team and customer service i csnt thank them enough for such a stress free survice.

We have been thinking about getting solar panels fitted to our house but we’re unsure of what the benefits and cost would be so after phoning a couple of companies we found alternative eco solutions and I’m so glad we did from the initial call through fitting and aftercare to check we were happy was superb extremely professional helpful and knowledgeable about their product can’t recommend Tom Lydamore and all his team highly enough

Our original system was failing so we were looking for an alternative solution as our company that fitted them had gone into liquidation.

We were put in touch with Alternative Solutions LTD who came out to check our system and found that there were faults within it. We were given a quote to upgrade the system and to add 2 more panels onto our existing system. After the system upgrade was completed we were extremely happy with the service that was provided.

2 years down the line, we run into a few issues that AS LTD rectified. It was failing because we had pigeons under our panels that had damaged the cabling, whilst they were with us they put a voltage optimiser in. After looking at the damage on the roof, we had to have new optimisers to make our system work again. The cables that were damage, were replaced by the company for free ensuring our system was working as it should.

I would highly recommend Tom and his team here at Alternative Solutions LTD, they are very knowledgeable in what they do and are more than happy to help you out in any way that they can. They always say, if there are any problems just give us a call and we will come out and find the issue and then let you know what it is and how we move forward with it.

Very good company. Efficient, prompt to respond when you need them. Always helpful and patient when explaining things that may be confusing to the lay person. They care a out their work and their customers. Can't rate highly enough.

I have used this company now on several occasions, this is due to other companies and independent electricians closing their businesses and taking the warranty with them leaving me in destitute. I had an initial call from their call centre and agreed for them to assess my system, they arrived on time thoroughly checked all areas and made recommendations on what they found.
I’ve dealt with around 5 other companies now and AES ltd have never let me down once, they are polite, considerate, very knowledgeable and patient.
I have recommended their services to a number of close friends and family members, we have all had the same experience. In all honesty 5 stars isn’t enough I would rate this company 10/10 I’m glad they found me and I’m very grateful for the efforts they have all provided over the last 4 years to ensure my once failed system now works perfectly.

Dear Tom Lydamore, Update after reply from AES. This is the first we've heard of water damage and no photos showing water damage were provided. More lies from you sadly. I didn't even mention that on the 13th you said the cables which had been running and working for 10 years were the wrong size and got step dad to sign for a new cable at a cost of £1000, and a warranty for £3500. I stopped all that, and you called me 13 times that day. I have all the proof. The original company did nothing wrong. The system was running 10 years, as I said above. An inverter lasts about that long. That's all that was needed. Yes, we did eventually have to accept for you to leave the inverter you provided, as suggested by Louie, as there was a problem on that day of having a better one fitted. I'm sure you are sympathetic to needing things changed as you had to cancel the original appointment to remove the items with us to the following week. If that hadn't happened the scheduled electrician would have been available to remove the inverter.
Plus, the only reason the system was working was due to our local electrician, who I stated before, put things right. YOU did not leave us with a fully working system. They did.
We asked many times for paperwork and you ignored each time. We never had a warranty for the optimiser, and yes, we did ask the second "electrician" for his certification as we believed the first one may not have been certified. Hence the terrible work and the fact we were told he's now 'gone' (quote from Andy, May 7th 2024).
Regarding the lengths you went to to leave us happy- I wanted an apology for the way I was spoken to, accused of misconduct, the way we were harassed for payment by yourself, saying you would not register our products until we had paid, even though not everything on the contract had been completed. Also it would have made us happy if you had the admitted that on the initial visit of Scott's work as acting electrician he had not done a good and sufficient job. That he had left the system not working. But no, all I got was lies and false written excuses, (but then you fired him I gather). Even after we were told that we were not committing tariff fraud by two different people you were convinced we were, even though you had not seen the fitted system or the data usage to and from the electric company. We never even had a written invoice and receipt like we asked for for financial reasons, no EIC as you stated it wasn't necessary although again, we were told otherwise by people with qualifications in electrical work.
Good luck to you in the future. I wish you well and am glad this episode is over. I can now get past the stress of it all.

Original review. Terrible experience with this company. Long story short. Elderly parents were called and offered a free health check on the solar panels. As the battery had been showing online as not storing much, it was agreed by my stepdad that they could come out. Tom the salesman came out and found a "scary" fault where half the battery wasn't working properly and the fuse hadn't shut it down! Half of it was hot and the other half not!! It could catch fire so he didn't want to leave without shutting the system down. He could get the guys out tomorrow though. Stepdad was talked into an optimiser which wasn't really necessary, for a price of 3 grand, plus a new inverter and a solar panel clean. Totaling £5400. They done the work. The system still didn't work. (I could add another 10 paragraphs here of everything that happened with this company. The panel clean didn't happen. At first I was told it had been done, but later told that it was free anyway).
We called the local electrician out who said the work done by AES was atrocious. Bare wires, no grommets, spliced into a cable without upgrading to larger voltage cable and if it was done by a qualified electrician then he took no pride in his work. They put everything right and showed us it was working on the ipad. Cost was £350. Was also told the work AES had done and the parts could have been provided by themselves for around £1500. So my advice to anyone - Go local. I didn't know our local electrician did solar panel work. Much more convenient than a place that is hours away. Don't trust anyone who cold calls or knocks on your door offering anything free! The treatment of this one director caused me and my parents so much stress. He actually had the nerve to suggest if the grommets were not in place when his guy left then we'd removed them ourselves. The other director, Louie, finally suggested our money back and removal of the optimiser. If this hadn't been offered we would have gone to court. I have written proof of all I have written here, and I doubt certain other positive reviewers do!

We have just had our first battery fitted for our solar panels. The two lads who came from AE Solutions were very polite and worked quickly to get it fitted. They then explained how it all worked got the app up and running for us and even corrected a couple of issues with our exisiting system without extra charge. Thank you

Over the years I have accumulated various solar panel companies. As you would expect I get several phone calls a year to tell me about them coming to check the various pieces of equipment or I need another piece of technology to ensure I keep things up to date. However, I have invested more than I should have done and I have to try and cut this back. Thank goodness I came across Alternative Eco Solutions who have supplied me with an excellent package for a ten year Maintenance Agreement at an extremely competitive price. The transaction was very easy and Tom was a really friendly and knowledgeable person to deal with. AES fitted two solar batteries for us last week. It wasn’t straightforward but they went the extra mile to get it right without complaining and without any extra charges. The cost was on par with other quotes but the service was a lot better and the guys doing the fitting were excellent. We’ve been really impressed with the monitoring of the batteries since too. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
