Substandard Experience
Ordered air-con unit on 27th May, which never arrived then deemed to have got lost. Then I formally requested a refund as told unit is out of stock, after which, a replacement arrives (after I received one from a different supplier). It's now been 2wks since requesting refund and collection of unit with no written confirmation that collection is booked as requested for this week, despite emails and following up with calls (usually automated response). I still need my refund.
UPDATE:
Company response via Trustpilot completely contradicts latest position - I have the phone record (22/06) for when my "collection" was booked as well the emails I followed up with to get confirmation in writing - I haven't received an email from you since 17th June. Evidence all shared via another email moments ago. PLEASE correct your inaccurate response below.

We haven't received a response to that email, so unfortunately we're unable to book the collection until we receive the information requested.
As soon as you reply to our email with the requested details, we'll arrange the collection as quickly as possible. Once the item has been returned to us, we'll be able to process your refund in line with our returns procedure.

Having checked your correspondence, we can see you've sent multiple emails regarding the same enquiry. In fact, we've received around 11 emails from you. Our automatic response clearly advises customers not to send multiple emails, as each new message updates the enquiry and pushes it to the back of the queue, which unfortunately delays our ability to respond.
We completely understand that waiting for an update is frustrating, however repeatedly sending emails has had the opposite effect and has increased the response time for your enquiry. Our team is working through all cases as quickly as possible, and your query will be processed in line with our normal procedures once your enquiry reaches the front of the queue.

Unfortunately I'm guessing my order was one of those affected by showing in stock, when it wasn't. Ordered 20/06, received an email saying it was on it's way on 21/06. No updates since then. As others have mentioned, they aren't taking calls so sent and email but haven't heard back. Hopefully this will be rectified quickly.

I purchased a De'Longhi portable air conditioner from AirConCentre for £541.10 in July 2025.
The unit was used for around three days during the hot weather, then stored over autumn and winter. When we brought it out during the next warm spell, it had completely failed and would no longer power on.
I reported the fault on 23 May and the process took over a month to resolve. The unit was collected and inspected, but despite having had only a few days' use and being returned in like-new condition (it still had the blue protective tape attached), the only resolution offered was a pro-rata refund of £315.64.
Throughout the process I asked whether an equivalent replacement could be considered, but was told this was not possible. I also contacted De'Longhi directly, who advised that their own warranty process would have been different.
The staff were polite in their correspondence, but I was disappointed that a premium product which failed after such little use resulted in me losing over £225 and having to spend a significant amount more to buy a replacement air conditioner.
I appreciate that others may have different experiences, but based on mine I would think carefully before purchasing an expensive appliance where a failure outside the first six months could leave you substantially out of pocket despite very little actual use.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with the outcome of your claim, although we're pleased to hear our team remained polite and helpful throughout the process.
We do understand your frustration, we'd like to reassure you that your claim was handled in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. As the fault was reported more than six months after purchase, the legislation allows for a deduction to reflect the use and ownership of the product before a refund is issued. This is why a partial refund was offered rather than a full refund. We could not offer a replacement or an alternative considering we had no stock and no alternatives for this unit available.
With regard to De'Longhi's comments, it's worth noting that they are the manufacturer and operate under their own warranty terms and policies, whereas we are the retailer and are required to assess claims in line with our legal obligations under the Consumer Rights Act. As separate companies, it's not unusual for the manufacturer and retailer to have different processes and resolutions available.
We appreciate this wasn't the outcome you were hoping for, but we can confirm the resolution provided was in accordance with the applicable consumer legislation. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.
