Adobe Rent a Car Omdömen 

After several trips to Costa Rica and encountering surprises with "hidden" costs at various car rental agencies, I went to AI and asked ... "when booking a rental car in Costa Rica, which is the best company to deal with and which is the worst?" Try it yourself and it'll say ADOBE as the best.

It was a pleasure to deal with Adobe's booking agent Magic ...(yes that's her real name). She guided me to the best possible deal by booking online with MyTanFeet.com. That gesture alone saved us an additional $240 USD from the original quote. She didn't have to do that. Plus, the fact that Adobe answers the phone, has the largest fleet in Costa Rica and is open 24/7 gives me great comfort in a country where renting a car can be a nightmare. On top of that, Magic asked for my flight info and has assured me that someone will be there to pick us up on arrival with the driver holding our name on a sign. Kudos so far. Looking forward to the experience and comforted already knowing that our rental quote is "ALL IN" with no surprises. Pura Vida.

I spent lots of time reading reviews to figure out which car rental company to trust to use while we were in Costa Rica. I ended up using Adobe and it all went smoothly! I wasn't sure if our wheelchair and luggage would all fit in a small SUV so they had the car I ordered online and the next size up all ready to see if I could fit everything and everyone in the vehicle. I appreciated that they didn't force me to upsize a car and let me see how things would fit. We rented from LIB airport and then returned to SJO airport. They recommended we drop off the car at the airport lot and gave me instructions on how to do that. I was very leary about leaving a car with keys in it but all went just as they said it would. No surprise charges and no pressure to buy extra insurance! Very professional all the way around and efficient and good communication. We met a man who has a home in both Costa Rica and in USA and he was using Adobe so I felt some comfort knowing that this smart guy (in biotech upper mgmt) also trusted Adobe with his car needs on a regular basis. Thank you Adobe!

Very very very lovely, helpfull, chill and good people. Helpfull in their shuttle service from the airport. They speak English very well. Our car got engine problems and we could pick up an upgraded newer version car the same day, no extra charge, full gastank. Absolutely effortless and stressless company to rent your car for holiday

I travelled to costa rica with my family from the uk. After reading lots of reviews i chose adobe and jt was a great choice. Kevin was really helpful and upgraded us to a larger vehicle when he saw the size if my teenage children. Great customer service and a great vehicle.

Die Übergabe des Leihwagens in San Jose erfolgte einwandfrei, gute Erklärungen über Technik und Straßenverhalten. Evtl , die Gesamtversicherung wählen, wobei im Land eigentlich sehr anständig gefahren wird. Jedoch aufgrund des starken LKW Verkehrs kommt man manchmal in schwierige Situationen. Der Wagen war sauber und modern Chinesisches Fabrikat. Wichtig zu wissen ist: der Wagen muss in sauberen Zustand zurückgegeben werden und dies bei teils unmöglichen Dirtroads und dreckigen Straßen. Eine Instantreinigung auf der Strecke kostet ca. 20 $ man wird aber betrogen und verlangt meist 40$. Wenn sie den Wagen sehr verdreckt zurückgeben, werden Ihnen 100$ berechnet.
Die Abholung erfolgt leider nicht so genau wie die Übergabe, alles wird sehr schnell erledigt, der Abholer kontrolliert den Wagen nicht mehr , so ist leider ein sehr übler Schaden für mich entstanden. Also das Auto vor Rückgabe volltanken und alles genau kontrollieren auch unter den Sitzen und vor allem sich Zeit nehmen und nicht drängeln lassen. AmBesten haben Sie bei der Rückgabe einen Zeugen mit am Auto. Leider ein trauriges Ergebnis mit dieser Firma

We used Adobe (LIR) for three vehicle rentals and three private shuttles during a month long stay in Costa Rica. Their staff are professional, friendly and don't try to upsell you on things you don't need. Their vehicles were clean and comfortable. I would definitely use them again.

Adobe Rent a Car is by far the most customer service-oriented car rental company I've ever been a customer with. The car was great, the hand-over service impeccable, the information level excellent - but the real kicker comes here: When some idiot (Me...) forgot his passports in his hotel, right before a flight, the ultra-friendly staff at Adobe in the Airport office helped me get the passports delivered from the inner city to the airport in such a time, that Michael Shumacher could not have done it faster. Well done, well done! My warmest recommendation!

I read a lot of car rental horror stories and I'm glad I found this company. I rented for 11 days through mytanfeet.com. The process was simple and they picked us up directly at the airport. I used a visa signature card and they didn't force me to purchase the additional collision insurance like you hear stories about. Of course they try to sell it anyway, but that's just business and you're free to decline. The car was relatively new and we had no problems with it. All in all, it was a pretty good experience. It was expensive, but if you're looking for a stress free experience and no surprise charges, I highly suggest Adobe. If I came back to Costa Rica, I would use them again.

Car was very good and staff were very helpful especially supplying the wifi for using waze. Altogether a very good experience I would highly recommend.

Great customer service. Quick to respond and answer all my questions when booking. English speaking. Car was delivered to hotel from downtown and I dropped back to the main airport; A/C shuttle service provided. I took the full insurance package so knew that we were covered for all eventualities (apart from punctures). They are not the cheapest but when things go wrong - we had an engine light that came on - you know that there are 14 branches throughout Costa Rica so you're not far from help. They had another car sorted and ready for us within a couple of hours, with a full tank of petrol to apologise for the inconvenience.

Want to report that the customer service sucks for this Rental car company. I booked through mytanfeet thinking I will not be surprised by the additional insurance the rental car company sells at the time of car pickup. I was wrong, ended up paying total $300 more. In addition, we were told that we are getting a brand new car, however no one cared to inspect if the car is working properly. The car constantly had a whistling sound, during this rainy season, the defrost was not working and the car play kept disconnecting which caused a lot of trouble while looking up directions. We contacted customer service and did not receive any help either. We paid a hefty amount expecting the best service but unfortunately we got into this weird situation throughout our trip.

We booked the car from Adobe because we saw that they were hands on and replied at every comment and message which made us feel safe.
When we arrived at San Jose airport they were waiting for us, and got in 15 minutes at the Car Rental where we met Maurizio, he was super helpful with everything we needed he gave as lot of advice etc., the car was in excellent condition and their service was superb, there was no problem at all and they made us feel even more safe.
We got the car from near the airport and left it at Quepos, there were no hidden fees.

I would not rent from Adobe. First of all, we made a reservation well over 60 days in advance for a 4WD vehicle. We arrived at the airport at 9PM, took a very questionable looking shuttle that smelled of smoke and mold to the car rental agency, and then were told they did not have ANY 4WD vehicles and maybe we should try calling other Abode locations the next day. LOL. We were tired, tried as best we could to speak to a manager to no avail, and just took the small Geely crossover they offered us. Funny thing about this is I made two reservations initially, and when Adobe emailed me about the mistake, I informed them we only need the one reservation for one 4WD vehicle and to cancel the one for the crossover that did not have 4WD. The rude attendant "helping us" said that since no one ever responded to that email it was never agreed to and was somehow our fault even though the email clearly stated we need a 4WD vehicle. He said don't worry if you are only going to tourist places you do not need 4WD. Completely false. We were fine in Fortuna and Marco Antonio/Quepos, but navigating the hills, mud, and unpaved "roads" in Monteverde and surrounding areas for some activities that were not "tourist-y", I guess, were straight up a nightmare. The vehicle must have been 2 or 4 cylinder and you had to floor it to get up hills. Two places we lost traction and rolled backwards down a hill - thank God no one was behind us. One of the hills we could not ever make it up and had to turn around to find a different route.
We reserved a cooler which they did not give us.

I also ended up having to take out additional protection and roadside assistance because I was sure the damn toy car wouldn't make it. Additionally, I was talked into adding $100 worth of "wifi" that worked occasionally, if at all, and my phone reception/phone plan was what I ended up relying on. I ended up spending $958 for 9 days in off season for a crossover that barely had enough power to make it up some of the paved hills.

Upon returning the car, I was told there was no return shuttle back to the airport. WHAT? They will bring you to get the car when you arrive, but plan on ordering an Uber for paying them $15 to call a Taxi for you. What a joke. After my very obvious unhappiness at this, they did finally offer to have the shuttle take me back to the airport hotel - but don't count on it happening since it is not their policy. Be smart and go to a different, well known rental agency that has a booth in the airport.

Very good service. Highly customer oriented. We were very satisfied and would anytime rent a car again. Very easy to book a car. We had a parking damage and everything was handled very quickly and easy.

A pesar de que se realizó la reservación inicial en la APP y se ofrecía un upgrade, este no se dio, pero al final realmente no fue necesario, la calidad de las unidades es excelentes, especialmente, quiero mencionar a Don Héctor Rodríguez, quien muy amablemente me asistió durante el retorno de la unidad, Muchas Gracias!!
