Excellent product
Bought a Yardmaster shed 2 months ago. Despite many negative reviews I found the instructions to be very comprehensive and relatively easy to follow. Took nearly 2 days to build and I built the roof by myself which took about 5 hours. I needed help to construct the sides and put the roof on, which fitted first time as I'd taken extra time to get the base structure perfectly square, which clearly some negative reviewers failed to do, and that took another 4 hours the next day. The process was pretty straight forward IF YOU FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS PROPERLY!! Very happy with the build and construction......yes it is a little flimsy but is excellent value and very well designed.

Some body needs a new tapemessure no where near the dimensions the give you .surely a trading standers issue bought a four by eight more like 3.5 don't get fooled
I dont know what all the fuss is about…
I dont know what all the fuss is about !! I bought the 8x4 shed. I saw some reviews on this site so took them into consideration when building mine. I admit the instructions arnt the best but, TAKE YOUR TIME and read them a couple of times. Allow plenty of time to get the job done, it wont happen in the blink of an eye. I took 2 days of about 4 hours each. As a precaution i added a dab of clear silicone to each screw where i thought heavy rain may work its way in. I only drilled 3 holes that didnt line up, just for my peace of mind. It went together as expected untill i lost a few clips. A quick call to the company and they were VERY helpfull, VERY polite and i had the clips within a few days. If you want a shed that will survive a nuclear attack then pay the money, dont expect something cheaper to be as robust. My closing comments would be....TAKE YOU TIME....THINK IT THROUGH....WORK METHODICALLY....ACT LIKE AN ADULT !!
Poor instructions and inadequate fixings
Well where do I start? I bought 2 metal apex sheds 12x10 & 6x8 and they were put together by myself and a friend we are both fairly competent at diy with probably 60 years of experience and all the proper tools required to build the sheds. Wow what a pain these sheds are to construct. First the instructions are very poor with only illustrations no text which does not give you a good start to construction. They need text or at least a QR code to text in your language to accompany the illustrations. Yardmaster provide some videos great if you’re in a massive warehouse with all the technical know how from yardmaster on hand to use.
Secondly the metal is flimsy and the fixings are completely inadequate just to small for the jobs they’re meant to do tiny screws difficult to install especially as you’re advised to wear gloves while handling the components GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!
Thirdly several of the roof and side panels just don’t line up with the relevant holes to screw them together consistently having to adjust and readjust them while putting in tiny screws. I had to drill several holes to line up with the panels to fix them together.
The sheds are now together and at the first sign of rain they leak from the roof like a sieve unsurprisingly from the completely inadequate screws (did I mention the tiny screws) I’ve had to replace screws, use sealant in several places, and butyl tape on the roof as well as sealant along the floor where the bottom rails meet the side panels. Yes water comes from underneath the shed as well despite being on level properly installed concrete council slabs and thick plastic waterproofing membrane.
YARDMASTER SHAME ON YOU FOR PRODUCING SUCH A SHODDY PRODUCT
Biggest problem are the instructions.
Biggest problem are the instructions.
Too many reasons to go into as to why but manfacturer needs to take a good look at them and sort them out.
The next thing is the flimsyness of the main frame.
Added to that is the fact that some frame parts were not drilled and we had to work it out and drill them ourselves.
The idea of attaching the frame together with tiny self tapping screws is ridiculous, it needs nuts and bolts.
All in all a very difficult shed (10×18 foot garage) to assemble and very poor quality. Needed anchoring to 4+4 posts which we concreted into the ground on each corner and at the centre side posts to stop it being blown over in strong winds.
We eventually built it after approx 60 man hours but really not worth the effort.
In my opinion it is manfactured to a price but is unfit for purpose, and would not buy one again.
Worst Customer service I’ve experienced…
Worst Customer service I’ve experienced ever, the girl literally cut me off cancelled my order and told me B&Q would refund me!!! Would not go near them again So Rude!!!
OMG why why why didn't I read these…
OMG why why why didn't I read these reviews on Yardmaster before buying the biggest waste of £505.00 I have ever spent. I should have known when i saw the two small boxes arrive with what was supposed to be our metal shed! A builder tried to put it together spent a day and then said your going to throw good money after bad if I continue tying to put this heap together. Flimsy doesn't even touch this product. Its now in the skip!! I think I might ask Banksy to come around and make a collage out of the photos I took if I don't laugh I will cry who can afford to waste this sort of money in this day and age!! We are now off to the local garden centre to buy a decent shed and to see what we are buying!
Never buy their sheds rude staff and poor product
Never buy their sheds
Most of the issues experienced have been expressed I will not rehash them.
I phoned them for technical help with the door spoke to the senior technician (I am not mentioning his name) what a joke you explain in basic terms the issue and he went of at a tangent twice. I asked to speak to his manager who was busy, he would call back. Surprise surprise he did, things were looking up. was to send email with photos of issues with the assemble and the leaking roof. I had a missed call and voice mail a week later to which I called back and left a message. Nothing heard back called this morning to speak to the manager (name known) he was not available. He would call back, I muttered I doubt that as he had not returned my previous call, to which I was subjected to a tirade from the receptionist and she hung up. I tried calling back the company is now on lunch.

This shed was over complicated flimsy rubbish!
Instructions were useless too!
Unless you're going to pay 2 builders to put this up (which will take them all day) do not buy it!

Was feeling terrible about my usually capable skills, until I read the reviews here 😅
Screw holes don’t align, flimsy metal, instructions afford a great deal of amusement/swearing (take your pick), don't think it will be waterproof but at the end of day 2 of two of us constructing it, we still haven't finished and are doubting our sanity. Definitely would not recommend.
The shed is of poor quality rain coming…
The shed is of poor quality rain coming in through the roof. Customer after service absolutely crap. Will never deal with such a crap company again
crap
crap, waste of money and time, I bought 10 by 13 feet, no seals under the walls, water is pouring inside, water is also leaking from under the screws in the roof, it's not worth a single pound, it's good for scrap
Do NOT Buy …close this company down
I wish I’d read these reviews before wasting my hard earned cash!! I think this must break the Trades Description act.
Similar and same issues to previous, 3 hrs into construction of roof & not yet done. Already had to re drill non aligned holes and constantly rejig fitting.
Evidently poor manufacturing practice and no QA. I’d be ashamed to work there. It’s clear that frame holes and respective panels hole drilled separately on poorly set jigs.Part id Labelling is a joke- old shop sticky labels that fade.
I’ll be looking for some compensation under the Sale of goods act.
Put my shed up last year
I put my 6x4 shed up last year by myself. It is recommended to have two people to erect it however. I did need help lifting the roof on though. A few tips that may help if you are looking at these reviews before purchasing one. If you are a novice to erecting these don't buy one unless you have a lot of patience/have the help of someone that has erected one before. Don't worry if there are bits of information missing from the instructions, this appears to be the norm, so you will need to use your common sense/make some educated guesswork. Some of the panel corners of my shed were already bent on arrival. I hammered them back into shape but check out others experience on here with customer service in case you need to speak to them. Make sure all componants are there before you start. Don't be surprised to find bits missing or "extras." My box contained 2 pieces from a totally different shed and the rubber covers for screws were missing. Two panels were also marked with the wrong codes (codes are stuck on parts with old fashioned retail price labels). Make sure they don't get wet so become illegible or use a marker pen to write the codes on inside of the panels first.) Use gloves when handling the panels as edges are very very sharp. Use a magnetic screwdriver as the screws are very small and there are loads of them to be fitted. Don't tighten the screws fully at first as the panels will need to be manipulated to get them to fit. Be aware you are also still likely to need to re drill some of the holes as a few will likely still end up misaligned. Leave more time than recommened to erect the shed. Make sure you buy some better screws than are supplied, for when there has been a storm/high winds, and half the roof has flown off because the fixings are inadequate when put under this pressure. Make sure no neibours are within ear shot when you curse the fact that parts of the roof are now bent after said storm. (Ive spent an hour today checking the roof and securing it further in order to prevent a repeat of last years dangerous flying sheet metal pieces, because winter will soon be upon us again). Final word of advice. Don't beat yourself up too much, for buying such a cheaply manufactured, shoddy piece of shi# just because you had the expectation it would be fit for purpose.
Water load of rubbish
Yep we bought a yardmaster metal shed complete with all the leaks inside when it rains,I think to seal all the leaks I'm going to have to pay more on sealant than what the shed cost new,Thank you Yardmaster I now have an outdoor inside shed shower system.
Do not buy a Yardmaster shed If I can save one person from buying…
If I can save one person from buying these sheds I will be happy. Honestly this shed has taken two of us(both from a building background) 8 hours so far and we are still not finished. You will not find a worse product if you tried, complicated, cheap, nasty and poor materials plus the most unreadable instructions. dreadful product with no good bits at all. avoid at all costs
Rusty New Shed
Do not purchase a metal shed from Yardmaster. I bought a metal shed from them and five panels had rust on them when it was delivered. The shed is flimsy and the screws they supply to assemble it are too small to hold it together in strong winds. I had to spend another £40 on M5 nuts and bolts to assemble it. One week after reporting the rust they still can't tell me when the new panels will be delivered.
The ONLY reason I have given this awful…
The ONLY reason I have given this awful shed 1 star is because 0 is not an option!
PLEASE avoid this piece of rubbish. If for some very unfortunate reason you have bought without reading any reports (like me,) DO NOT erect this with someone you love or even like. It'll test the best relationship in the world. Too many individual issues to mention.
The box it comes in would make a stronger shed.
When the shed arrived I commented to myself that the box it came in would make a sturdier shed. Appalling instructions. The thinnest sheet steel I have ever seen. Poor quality fixings. Holes don't line up. However, we got there, and by replacing all of the ridiculous tiny screws with flanged pop rivets it's reasonably sound. Winter will tell. I don't recommend. Minimum 10 hours to erect a 6 x 4. Reasonable value if you don't cost your time.
10ft x12ft golden oak steel shed
Just finished putting together Yard master steel shed. It was a great family project.
Instructions were hard to follow but we got there in the end.
No pieces missing, arrived only one week later than expected. It looks good and we are very happy with the value for money.
