If I could give it a zero I would.

Firstly... lady on the till short with black hair up in a pony. Terrible customer service, rude and doesn't listen at all. I ordered 3 coffees, two iced and one hot. All white mochas and asked for blonde roast. What I got was milk with ice and syrup in one, no cream and the other two with signature coffee. When I asked for the staff to put some coffee in, she told me the machine told her the coffee shot did come out. Staff need more training as they don't know their basics, all mochas come with cream it's not difficult. Maybe some customer service training would be beneficial as well. So so disappointing.
Village hotel Cardiff
Village hotel Cardiff
After a 6 hour drive we were given a dirty room (what looked like Greggs pasty all over the carpet)
Left are bags in room and came downstairs to bar to get drinks and food.
Husband stood at the bar being ignored as an intoxicated couple were returning a glass of white wine.
Finally got served however the same couple were then taking illicit substances and when I was having a cigarette outside then watched the male collect more from a golf who pulled up outside the front of the hotel to serve him.
Complained to reception staff as I had my children with me and nothing was done.
Decided it was best to go up to the room and order from there.
Food came and was missing half the order and the glass of white wine that was being returned at the bar earlier covered in bright red lipstick was brought up to us instead of a clean fresh one that we ordered. The young lad that brought it up was smirking as if the bar staff had a good laugh as it was unmissable.
My husband then went mad! Down to reception and admittedly raised his voice however then followed up to apologise as he didn’t mean to upset anyone. Was furious with the treatment so far. This was accepted and we were told they would comp the food and a set of drinks. When husband went back to the bar was then told by the older gentleman behind the bar that he will get nothing as (he’s not even a local or from here) we have Manchester accents and was told that we wouldn’t be getting drinks from him. We then went back to the room as a different member of staff made the drinks and brought them to the room.
Whilst in the room the room above us was banging/running from one end of the room to the other, I asked staff multiple times to ask them to stop. They didn’t do this.
Being disabled and not realising how far a walk the room the would be, in the morning I asked if I could be moved to an accessible room only to be told the disabled rooms are the same distance away. So I asked for a room closer to reception to be told they were now fully booked.
I asked that as soon as we are gone the room is to be cleaned and was promised this would happen.
Had a call midday by staff asking if we still wanted to come back or just check out. I informed them we would like our second night that was paid for and double checked that our room was to be cleaned for our return.
I was told it would be.
Came back to a dirty room! no one had attempted to go in and couldn’t even put fresh towels outside the door. (I think this was hoping I would have enough and just leave)
Spent both nights in tears, begged staff for help
Before my accident making me disabled I spent COVID doing 12 hour shifts making sure the north west village hotels were secure as a subcontractor via Showsec.
I really wanted to stay as a guest as the hotels looked amazing but was unable to until this weekend just gone and Iv never been treated so horribly in my life.
I will NEVER return to village hotel me and my family were treated like scum. 2nights in tears for just short of £200. Disgusting
Great hotel village Bristol
Great hotel village Bristol. Gabriel in the bar was excellent very happy with service
Room flooded and no apology
I stayed over in Jan 25 and was woken up at 5 in the morning with water coming through the ceiling. No problem with this as things happen.
No apology, no sorry no email to apologies, nothing!! they completely wipe there hand with this.
I footed the bill to get my clothes dry cleaned !!
Broken shower, TV and previous guest's bags left in room
I stayed in Maidstone and was disappointed by the shower which didn't work first time along with the TV which wouldn't tune to any channels. I stayed there two nights and although they fixed the TV on the first night, they couldn't fix the shower which didn't work on morning one and was intermittent on morning two.
On night two I found a Sweaty Betty London bag in the room, which seems to be a leggings company that isn't linked with Village hotels. I guess the room wasn't tidied and cleaned as thoroughly as people might expect.
Although I didn't ask, they did let me know on day two that they couldn't relocate me as the hotel was fully booked.
Don't judge a book by its cover!
This hotel chain uses its quirky designs and gym/pool facilities to pass itself off as a 4 star hotel but there are many things it needs to improve on. Staff who checked me in were very friendly and explained what to do, pub seemed quite nice, however, when you start making your way to your room, that's where things start going downhill. Only one lift (at least at the Warrington branch where I stayed) so lots of queues and ended up lugging my stuff up the stairs. Room itself was nice, clean, cosy and modern but I paid extra for a bigger Club Room and to me it seemed about the standard Premier Inn room size (if not a little smaller) with the added bonus of a "couch" style chair for sitting on. I ordered room service as I didn't feel like going out to eat that evening, this is available between 5pm and 9:30pm and while the food itself was adequate, drinks options were very limited and mostly alcoholic. No phone in bedroom so had to order via a sketchy website and use their glitch live chat service if you need to ask anything, I found this very substandard. Then, the fire alarm went off at 10:45pm due to a fault, due to my autism (which makes me terrified of alarms) I felt unsafe continuing my stay and had to check out early and come home, which the night staff were understanding about. Possibly due to the rate I selected, I received no form of compensation or refund for my remaining nights and breakfasts, which would have been greatly appreciated. Additionally the website was slow and glitchy, which made the booking process a pain. Overall, it's a 4 star hotel chain with 4 star amenities but substandard services and website. I'm sticking with Premier Inn in the future.
I see clearly WHY this hotel/gym group…
I see clearly WHY this hotel/gym group has such a lousy rating!!
They employ incompetent people with huge ego’s, that is not a way to run a business that deals with people!
This is my experience of the hotel in Elstree Watford Christmas Eve, this was sent multiple times to head office WHO are way too busy to respond…this kind of discrimination is appalling and deserves to be addressed!
I submitted proof of all stated in the email, yet two months later radio silence!
Hi customer services,
I will start by wishing you a happy healthy new year.
Your hotel is a meeting point for me and my friends a few who belong to your health spa too,
we usually meet for a coffee, breakfast or lunch.
Today 24-12-24
I came to sit in peace and quiet to enjoy meeting my friend…we did for virtually 2 hours over coffee and breakfast, it was particularly enjoyable for me as the past few months (years) have been very very difficult!
I have blood cancer and part of my care is my sweet little dog (Who is not an ounce more than 2 kg!) she has been made my legal support dog by the GP.
During the two hours my tiny dog who was extremely quiet, she was adored by all that passed from adults to tiny children, all the while I enjoyed two pleasurable hours in your foyer.
That is until an extremely rude member of your staff came over telling me that we were not welcome there and we had to leave that moment.
That is when I presented her with my card and offered her to take it to photo copy and find out on line its validity.
She proceeded to tell me my dog was not a blind dog, that being all you allow into the premises.
I again reiterated there are MANY disabilities that qualify which is when she got rude and told me I was banned, at which point I told her to buzz off and that I was collecting my things and we were leaving anyway.
I noticed at that point she had gone back to the main desk and was pointing in my direction talking with 3 huge men from your staff.
I went over on my way out pointing at maria asking her for the contact details of head office to be written down for me at which point I was told to go by maria and one of these men to go and look on the Internet.
A few enjoyable hours were ruined by this utterly rude lady who behaved like a cocky peacock all of which was not warranted, nice or necessary!
What she did is also contravening law, I told her this gently and to go properly check before behaving in a heavy handed rude manner.
Bonnie my adorable companion was barely noticeable, quiet sitting on my lap, I have to say if you have incompetent people like maria in management positions running your hotel you have serious problems!
Yours sincerely,
A lovely night away
The customer service was exceptional.
All of the staff were very friendly and made you feel very welcome.
Charlotte on reception was very friendly and left me a birthday card and balloons in my room :)
We was supposed to go to the Walsall…
We was supposed to go to the Walsall branch Birmingham but couldn't go due to illness we did notify them of this and asked if we could rearrange for another night but they would not bend over at all it was our 25th anniversary as well I was so upset but this hotel would rather 2 people ill spreading germs all over hotel rather than let us change date luckily we didn't do that had more respect for others but will not use them again very very poor customer service I would avoid!!!!
Absolutely disgusting customer service.
Absolutely disgusting customer service.
Hotel booked but unfortunately can not make it due to personal reasons which came up.
No refund but expected to book another date within 30 days otherwise will lose out on money.
Customer service shocking. Asked if could change to a different hotel but can not do that either.
One closer to where I live but can not do that either. Yet I have given enough time to fill the date I had booked for.
They don't have no care or passion to help people all they care about is taking people's money and not helping.
I wouldn't even give this company 1 star.
Dread to think what the customer service is like at their hotels if management can't give good customer service.
Excellent at VWorks Village Hotel Cardiff
We have recently joined VWorks in Village Hotel Cardiff and are so impressed with the level of service we recieve! Aaron in particular has been absolutely brilliant, really friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. He provided lots of information on the various joining options and meeting room hire before we joined. He goes out of his way to go above and beyond to build great relationships with all the VWorks users, making it an enjoyable, relaxed and professional place for us to work. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to work or cowork and highly recommend speaking to Aaron.
Anti family and anti disabled
Village Hotel Leisure Club North Leeds
Avoid the leisure club at all costs. There managers tell bare face lies, hate children and carry out illegal activity in the club.
After teaching classes here for children they just decided to stop the classes leaving 40 kids with nowhere to go and insisted parent keep paying fees even though the kids could not attend the facilities.
They lost/stole/disposed of brand new equipment belonging to the karate instructors and have refused to pay for them.
This IS NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT.
AVOID
VILLAGE HOTEL SWANSEA LANGDON ROAD SA1 …
We were booked at the village hotel Swansea for our Christmas party when we got there the venue room was to small, the meal was basic and cold. Our food order was the same. Our ward manager had put a £300 tab behind the bar and we were given a fab to allow us to purchase drinks on the tab. When our manager went to pay for the tab at the end of the night the bar man stated that the tab bill was £480 despite only requesting a £300 tab, when we challenged the bar manager and team they clearly stated that it was their error and a mistake however demanded that we pay for the £480. When we stated that we wouldn’t pay the full amount as it was not our fault they agreed and let us only pay for the £300.
While we were outside waiting for a taxi the bar manager came out and said that we had the pay the remaining £180 or else she would have to call the police despite this. Not being our fault.
No respect no apology and demanded that we pay the money.
Therefore we had no option but to pay.
The night was a shambles’s the food was awful no taste, the tribute act was Michael bubble which didn’t sound like him and the dance floor was very small with limited space.
My suggestion is never book a party there at the village hotel Swansea, as they will either mess up your tab account or serve you food that is cold and tasteless not worth the £40
The bar manager said that I would be able to ask for the £180 to be refunded once customer service would re open the following Monday as this error was their fault not ours. When I went to speak to the manager at the village she stated that because we consumed the alcohol then if we didn’t pay the £180 then she would have no option but to call the police despite it being their fault . She the. Suggested that the staff at the party should pay a small contribution to my self to pay back the £180 that I had to pay that night due to the village hotel staff error.
Incompetent staff and poor quality customer service.
We will be speaking to the ombudsman.
Weak management
Club room was a waste of money.
Parking is free at weekends anyway.
Advertised extras in the room are a joke.
Coffee machine leaked.
Money taken twice from our account with no explanation.
No response from manager.
Worst hotel experience and even worse customer service
Village Hotel Glasgow. Worst hotel experience I have ever had, would not go back even if you paid me.
Went as a relaxing staycation for our 5 year olds birthday so extremely disappointed. Our room stank of smoke and had spent much of our evening waiting around for it to be dealt with, then got moved to a double room (only room available) even though we paid extra premium for a family room. We got offered the new room after 8pm despite raising the issue at about 5pm. I would have left to go home had I not had my son with us and it being already past his bedtime.
The restaurant was abysmal. Food is over priced and average quality at best. It was packed with football fans but no separation between family or restaurant dining and the football supporters who were heavily drinking. We reserved a table and when brought to the table it was not prepared in any way, no cutlery or napkins and we had to ask the adjacent table to remove their coats and drinks from our table so we had room to sit down. And because of no separation for families or diners we had to sit their with our son having to listen to swearing and sectarian songs from the noisiest table in the whole place right beside us. We ordered 2 cokes and a Caprisun (which doesn't even need to be poured) and after 40 minutes with no sign of the drinks had to approach the bar as we hadn't got our drinks or been asked what we were ordering. My partner spoke to a rude manager who said 'it is busy what do you want me to do about it' at which stage it was pointed out what we had ordered and that there was only 3 people at the bar. We spoke to someone else as he was useless, they apologised and took our order from us and our now crying son. After an hour of hearing the vile language from the table beside us we moved seats ourselves. Our food then came some time later without any napkins, cutlery, condiments or asking if any additional drinks were needed. I asked for an additional Caprisun for my son from the waiter and got told I had to go get it myself. The service was so bad we were told we weren't going to be charged but you wouldn't be able to pay me to go through that again. I wanted to leave after the ridiculous delay for the drinks and taking the food order but my partner wanted to stay as my son needed his dinner asap. I wish we had gone to the nearby McDonalds, we would have got better quality and service.
We have yet to receive a response, despite being informed by staff on Thursday night that we would speak with the manager Friday morning but you were not there. Weeks later still no response on the issues even though we have sent multiple emails to the 'manage' and customer service. If the 'manager' reads this, please respond to your customers emails as you have no problem replying to public reviews since we have tried to contact you via the email provided at the hotel.
I could go on about other issues and would give a zero rating if possible. The only positive is some of the staff were very nice although above their heads.
Uncaring customer services
Having booked a cruise from uk. 6 hours drive away, the next thing you book is a hotel. In advance as all planning done.
Paid more than advertised price near to christmas. Overnight we hear our cruise is cancelled for us as we are travelling with a wheelchair and p o don't have enough evacuation chairs or staff should an emergency arise.
Rebooked cruise with princess for a later date. Explained situation to hotel customer services, asked to transfer booking. Told no, due to pre paying for room and breakfast. More expensive then
than current rate. We didn't ask for a refund, just compassion. Luckily as the cruise had been paid in full ,but cancelled within 24 hours we got our money back from p.o. BUT NOT VILLAGE HOTEL EASTLEIGH. ALL WECWANTED WAS TO CHANGE DATE.
To make things worse, after not staying and wanting to give ut to some homeless person, they informed me they would need a card registered for the person staying even though everything was paid in full.
Today they have sent me an invoice for our stay. OR NOT.
Customer service is non existent. Will never stay here there are plenty of hotels near Southampton.
Stayed in the Blackpool Village Xmas…
Stayed in the Blackpool Village Xmas Day just gone. Hotel is really nice, and everything was fine, however they left no hand soap in the bathroom and a few questionable stains on the carpet in room 432 looking like someone didn’t quite make it to the loo after a spicy curry. Absolutely stifling hot everywhere in the hotel, had to sleep with window open in Dec. Also TV only had freeview and we was hoping to log into our Netflix and watch Christmas Movies but not a smart TV.
Nice little selection box left for us upon check-in overall…. lovely hotel.
Really great thanks
Really great thanks. I went to the Hull gym and pool with my daughter. Lovely amenities and clean. Jazz on reception was very nice and helpful in talking to me on the phone and writing a note on my account. Thanks, Jazz!
Not a member of staff in site when I…
Not a member of staff in site when I needed help with a car park fee, overpriced poor beers, poor food not somewhere I recommend.
The most awful lunch ever
A friend friend and I went for a meal to village hotel south Leeds. We ordered the King of Protein meal at 18.99. This consists prawns, shrimps and a lot noodles. There were only 3 prawns, no shrimps and very dry tasteless noodles. I could not eat it for fear of choking. After a bit argument with an aggressive manager he said as a goodwill gesture I could change mine so I got a chicken wrap, awful! Very dry, hardly any chicken and absolutely tasteless. I threw the wraps down the toilet, The Chips were ok, just. I have never had such horrible, tasteless, dry food in a restaurant ever. They should be shut down.
