Great lender for specialist cases, great company would highly recommend.

The fact that Vida is doing great is straightforward, their phonelines are very busy.
Vida loan amount to rental income is the highest, very helpful when the property to be let is expensive.
Broker support is amazing.

I’ve been using Vida for a long time now, and I truly feel they’ve gone from strength to strength in recent months. In particular, a recent case — which was far from straightforward — really highlighted the quality of their service.

It made a huge difference being able to speak directly with the underwriter and work through the details together. That personal touch meant a lot, especially given how sensitive the case was. I want to pass on my sincere thanks and appreciation to Barry and his team for their support, professionalism, and understanding. They’ve gone above and beyond to help me deliver the best outcome for my clients, and it’s genuinely appreciated.

I would give a zero star if I could.
Avoid them because they have charged me £440 and refunded only £250 and even waisted my time. This is unfair. Bad cuatomer service. Avoid Them!

Unacceptable Delays and Underwriting Incompetence: A Warning to Fellow Brokers

As a seasoned professional with 11 years experience as a mortgage broker and 21 years in financial services, I am genuinely appalled by the level of service and gross operational failures demonstrated by the underwriting department.

Timeline and Core Issues:

Application Submission Date: October 13th, 2025.

Current Date: November 25th,2025 (Over six weeks later).

Status: Still awaiting final information requests before a formal mortgage offer can be issued.

The most egregious failing is the discovery today that the case was initially handled by an underwriter who was "not fully signed off" and was only just escalated to a senior underwriter today.

The direct acknowledgement from the lender that "this should have been picked up weeks ago" is simply not an adequate response to the severe delay and distress caused to my clients.

This shocking lack of internal process control and competence is unacceptable. I urge other brokers to take note of this experience. This level of service is actively damaging to broker-client relationships and needs to be signposted publicly.

I cannot recommend this lender's underwriting services based on this disastrous application experience.

I had a gut feeling about this company but mortgage broker swayed otherwise & guess what everything people posted as negative experiences did happen to us. Waste of time and stress to get absolutely no where. False promises and absolute rubbish reasons why they reject the mortgage , take your money on false hope and f*** you over. Save yourself a melt down and go avoid !!!!

unfortunately not a good experience for myself of client. I spoke to Vida on numerous occasions as the case was complex, and received positive news so we went ahead a placed the application, sent all requested documents, paid the valuation and admin fee, only then to receive a phone call informing us the case had been declined. Very poor service

This one of the most fraud lander in the UK. First of all their interest rate is lower than anyone. Nest step is The take more that £650 for the property valuation but try to find some problem on the property to refuse to lend. It cost £80 -£120, not £650. Their main income is this. I have twice this experience. They will never give you the valuation report. Strongly advice not been greedy like me and lose money on so called valuation. All lender do valuation but no one charge.

I recieved a terrific service from Barry Lindsay. Very communicative and professional. Happy to discuss not just specifics to the case but also general questions that he didnt have to help me with. He always answered quickly and got the application through in a timely manner.

Just like to say a massive thanks to Zoe Fidler for a recent tricky case I submitted. The purchase had lots of different elements to it but Zoe was always on hand to chat through the case and by working together we've got a positive outcome for the customer.

I am writing this review to express my deep frustration and disappointment with the way my request for a redemption statement has been handled by this firm. The entire experience has been appalling, marked by repeated delays, conflicting information, and a complete lack of professionalism and consistency from the team.

Both my solicitor and I have faced unnecessary obstacles at every stage. Despite following every instruction given, our requests for the redemption statement have been repeatedly rejected without any clear justification. My solicitor has made multiple phone calls and submitted three separate requests through the company’s online portal, yet the issue remains unresolved.

To make matters worse, the company refused to accept the request by email or fax, insisting that it must be submitted through their online system which clearly does not work properly. We were told that the system could not process our request because it could not handle the length of our company name.

What’s even more concerning is the conflicting and inconsistent advice received from different staff members. One advised using the director’s full name, another suggested initials and part of the company name, and a third said to use my surname and mortgage account number. We tried every method and all were rejected.
This confusion and lack of clarity have caused significant and unnecessary delays. As a direct result, our property completion, scheduled for today, has failed to go ahead resulting in financial loss and considerable stress.

To make matters worse, I submitted a formal complaint on 27th October 2025 and received only an automated acknowledgment, stating that someone would get back to me within three working days. It is now 10th November 2025, and I have still not received any response or update. This complete lack of follow-up only reinforces my impression of disorganisation and disregard for customers.

Frankly, the situation feels like a deliberate attempt to frustrate or delay the release of the redemption statement, potentially to obstruct my ability to remortgage with another lender. Such behaviour is unacceptable for a company of this size and reputation and raises serious concerns about their commitment to fairness, transparency, and basic customer service.

Avoid this company if you value professionalism, accountability, or timely communication.

Massive thank you to Barry who was the underwriter on MY first ever case I have submitted to Vida. He was helpful, knowledgeable and in regular contact, which is almost unheard of from a lender. I will certainly now use Vida again, and I am hoping Barry is the underwriter for the next case.
