Mark Beddows was excellent in underwriting the case of mine for a client, very thorough, transparent and willing to help understand the rationale, which was good and used common sense, which is a rare commodity nowadays. First class service from him, thank you!

We went to vida through a broker as they provided us with a DIP. Submitted our application and provided all information and documents requested.
Firstly their service is extremely slow asked for things we had already submitted and waited 5 days for a response to ask for something else when all information could have been asked for upfront. After 5 painful weeks we where then declined due to the fact i had been off work sick (on full pay, so no salary drop, which i am entitled to 6 months full pay and was off for 7 weeks) due to having breast cancer.
I was given the all clear, yet vida have declined our application due to the fact i had cancer and they couldnt be sure my income would not be affected. Even though i provided not 1 but 2 letters from my employer to prove i was back at work.
Think its discrimation at worst and 2 completely shocking given it took 5 weeks to come to this point when they knew upfront why i was off.

1. My pay was not affected and i could prove i was entitled to 6 months full pay.
2. I am cancer free but yet being punished and discrimated against for having cancer at age 33 might i add i have a full life to live yet. And
3. We have insurance as well as group income protection so shouldnt this be taken into account?

Honestly never been made to feel so bad in my life for being unwell.

Vida's underwriters and completions team are excceptionally quick at responding and are very much accessible for important communications, which is very difficult to come by.

Case was dealt with in a timely manner. Nice to be able to leave notes for the underwriter , who always responded.

Application to offer was very straightforward and there was great communication throughout.

The stars reflect the experience delivered. Yes we got a positive result but the turn around was not acceptable. Application submitted 26/08/2025 and offered 07/10/2025

Maybe stop passing the application around the room would prevent unnecessary delays. Telling us "Patricia is doing her best" gave little comfort to our clients that were under enormous stress from the estate agent

To be able to talk directly to an Underwriter is a big bonus and makes the application to offer process much easier. I wouldn't hesitate to use Vida again, and I can't say that about many lenders!

I found a property and fell in love with it. There was a bit of back and fourth with it with Vida because of the commercial property that was close by. They said it would be down to valuers comments on whether we got the property. The valuer marked the property as not adjacent. Happy days….nope….we were then told that because of the property being in close proximity to the commercial that we would only get 75% LTV. Even though there’s clearly separated boundaries between the property I was going for and commercial property. So Vida has said one thing and done another and moved the goal post. Why did it take 5 weeks to get a no? Because you said based on valuers comments then changed your mind and said no anyway? So unfair on all involved who have spent money and got no where. Extremely disappointed.

By far, the best lender I have dealt with. Efficient service and excellent professionalism. I would highly recommend and use again in the future.
