Scammed and defrauded
I had been waiting for an MMORPG called Ashes of creation to come out for years. It was released in Alpha with the promise of 1 month free play time on full release, on Steam.
I purchased the early access and within three weeks the game studio made up a fake board of directors, claimed that the board had decided to do mass lay offs, move the game to China and do a monthly subscription. the game stopped being updated. I raised the issue with Steam asking for a refund as the promise of a months free game time on release would no longer be upheld and the game dying but they have continually refused to refund me despite falsely advertising what was on offer.

Even though everything says "VAC BAN" from Overwatch (which is extremely out of date info).
There's no way to contact someone to look into my case and get my ban lifted.
And yes, its a false game ban due to the ridiculous ban wave recently 🤦♂️.
The most disgusting thing in modern day gaming is to have such a high playerbase and 0 way of resolving an issue THEY created.
All they care is skins and nothing else.
Game is infested with filthy cheaters but somehow I got banned ? The guy with less than 1kd who plays mainly on faceit and just got for some deathmatches and retakes just for the weekly rewards.

I bought a game on steam in a winter sale as they encourage you to do.
I didn't try it for a few weeks, but when I did the game did not function.
I asked for a refund on this basis.
They automatically rejected my refund request twice with no method to contact them.
This is obviously theft as they have not provided the service I paid for.
If you think Valve are the good guys, it's just because they haven't stolen from you yet.
Steam Guard
I would like to express my deep dissatisfaction with how user accounts are managed by Steam, owned by Valve Corporation.
The implementation of Steam Guard was done without clear notification, without explicit user consent, and most importantly without properly verifying the accuracy of the contact information. As a result, an incorrect email address was associated with my account, completely locking me out of an account I have used for years and spent real money on.
Since then, it has been an absolute nightmare.
Despite providing:
my full personal details,
my historical email address,
my phone number,
my bank card information,
purchase receipts,
and even original physical CD keys,
the support team keeps refusing to resolve the situation, constantly asking for additional information, sometimes inconsistent or impossible to provide for an old account.
What is most frustrating is the feeling of being treated like a fraudster, even though I am the legitimate owner. The support team seems unable or unwilling to properly review the account history or make a logical decision based on the extensive proof already provided.
The customer service feels:
completely impersonal,
driven by automated responses,
and most importantly, unable to actually solve problems.
We are talking about a many-years-old account, with a clear purchase history, identifiable information, and concrete proof of ownership.
Today, I am locked out of my own games, with no real solution, because of a security system imposed without proper safeguards and an ineffective support service.
This is simply unacceptable for a company of this size.
Steam is very efficient at selling games, but completely fails when a customer faces a serious account issue.
I strongly advise against trusting a platform that can make you lose access to your purchases overnight, without any real resolution.

CS2 Is Suffering From Cheaters, Poor Server Coverage and Neglected Competitive Integrity
I have been playing Counter-Strike for many years and CS2 has enormous potential, but the current state of the game is extremely frustrating for dedicated players.
Cheating is out of control. In many competitive and Premier matches, players with obvious aimbots, wallhacks or account boosting are still active for weeks without bans. This destroys the integrity of the ranking system and makes competitive play meaningless.
Server quality is another major issue. Outside a few core regions, players suffer from unstable routing, high packet loss and poor hit registration. This creates a massive disadvantage depending on where you live and makes the game feel inconsistent and unfair.
What is most disappointing is that Counter-Strike is one of the most iconic esports titles in history, yet it feels like the core competitive experience is being neglected. Skin economy, cases and monetization receive constant updates, while cheating, server quality and matchmaking problems remain unresolved.
Players want a fair, skill-based and technically reliable game. Without meaningful improvements in anti-cheat, server infrastructure and matchmaking integrity, CS2 risks losing the loyal player base that made Counter-Strike great in the first place.

They rip kids off. Be careful. I’m realistic about purchasing items, but if you buy a game for $40, play 2 hours and then the price goes to $3, they won’t credit the difference. I understand if a month or two passes, but a few days? They are stealing from kids IMO.
Truly terrible
Truly terrible, a very obviously money-grubbing company and primo example of why monopolies are bad. Their awful return policy requires you to request a refund within 14 days *of buying it*, not of when you actually download it. So if you rush to buy a game during one of their flash sales, but don't download it until two weeks later, then discover it makes you motion sick (this happens with a fair amount of games), they will not give you a refund.
In short, a company that seems to think pissing off its customer base is the key to $$$$. Good luck with that! I suspect their competitors are the ones who will gain.
