Valve - unprofessional, disapointing, ignorant

Valve has become one of the most disappointing and unprofessional game companies in the industry when it comes to handling cheating in Counter-Strike 2. In 2026, after decades of experience running one of the biggest competitive shooters in the world, the company still cannot solve the most basic and critical problem in the game: cheaters.

Cheating in CS2 has become so common that many matches feel completely pointless. Legitimate players are constantly forced to play against obvious hackers while Valve remains silent or delivers weak and ineffective solutions. This creates the impression that the company simply does not care about its player base anymore. Instead of protecting fair competition and maintaining the integrity of the game, Valve appears far more interested in continuing to profit from skins, cases, and microtransactions.

The lack of transparency and meaningful communication from Valve only makes the situation worse. Players report cheaters every day, provide evidence, and complain across forums and social media, yet almost nothing changes. It feels like the community is being ignored entirely. A company with Valve’s resources and experience should have no excuse for allowing such a massive cheating problem to continue for years.

Counter-Strike was once respected as one of the greatest competitive games ever created, but the current state of CS2 seriously damages that legacy. When cheating becomes this widespread, the game loses its competitive value, its credibility, and most importantly, the trust of its players.

Valve’s failure to properly address cheating shows a shocking level of incompetence and disrespect toward the community that made the franchise successful in the first place. For many players, CS2 no longer feels like a serious competitive game — it feels like a neglected product managed by a company that stopped caring long ago.

Valve ist ein Unternehmen geführt von einem Haufen Idioten die bewusst ihre Kunden betrügen, der support ist lächerlich und nutzlos, das Programm das verhindern soll das spiele Kopiert werden stört die Leistung und bringt überhaupt nichts außer Leistungseinbußen für den Kunden, Beispiel Crimson Desert kann man ohne kauf mit Hilfe eines Hypervisor zocken und es funktioniert ausgezeichnet, werde auch von Steam verschwinden weil ich diesen Haufen Betrüger nicht mehr unterstütze...

Respektlose Hinhaltetaktik – Support ignoriert Fakten und rechtliche Ansprüche

Ich besitze mein Steam Deck seit 5 Monaten und bin eigentlich von der Hardware überzeugt. Doch nach einem klaren Hardware-Defekt (Signal-Fehler bei der Steam-Taste) begann ein Support-Albtraum, den ich so noch nie erlebt habe.
​Innerhalb von weniger als 6 Stunden wurde mein Ticket zwischen drei verschiedenen Mitarbeitern hin- und hergereicht. Trotz meiner massiven Vorarbeit (Werkseinstellungen, BIOS-Reset, komplettes Re-Imaging des Systems) wurde ich in einer Endlosschleife aus Standard-Textbausteinen festgehalten. Man hat das Gefühl, gegen eine Wand aus Ignoranz zu reden.
​Die Krönung:
Obwohl ich extra ein Video produziert und auf YouTube hochgeladen habe, um den Defekt zweifelsfrei zu beweisen, fragte der nächste Mitarbeiter wieder nach den absolut einfachsten Basics, die ich bereits mehrfach beantwortet hatte. Es scheint System zu sein: Der Support liest den Verlauf offenbar gar nicht, sondern versucht den Kunden durch repetitive Fragen und ständige Mitarbeiterwechsel zu zermürben, um eine RMA (Reparatur) zu verhindern.
​Es ist eine absolute Frechheit, dass man von einem Kunden verlangt, eine Nachtschicht als IT-Techniker und Video-Editor einzulegen, nur um sein gesetzliches Recht auf Gewährleistung geltend zu machen. Wer hier nicht technisch extrem versiert ist und einen langen Atem hat, wird mit seinem defekten Gerät einfach allein gelassen.
​Fazit: Tolle Hardware, aber der Support ist eine bürokratische Zumutung. Einmal und nie wieder.

Lots of cheaters, the game is over 20 years old and Valve hasn't done anything to get rid of them... for me the conclusion is simple, you're selling your cheats...

Ich bin extrem enttäuscht von Valve und dem aktuellen Zustand von Counter-Strike. Das Spiel ist inzwischen kaum noch spielbar, da Cheating ein massives Problem darstellt und gefühlt in jeder zweiten Partie vorkommt. Ein funktionierendes Anti-Cheat-System scheint entweder nicht vorhanden oder völlig ineffektiv zu sein.

Besonders frustrierend ist der fehlende Support. Meldungen werden entweder ignoriert oder führen zu keinerlei sichtbaren Konsequenzen. Als Spieler hat man das Gefühl, komplett alleine gelassen zu werden.

Gleichzeitig wird weiterhin aggressiv mit Skins und In-Game-Käufen Geld verdient, während die grundlegenden Probleme des Spiels nicht behoben werden. Es wirkt, als ob der Fokus ausschließlich auf Monetarisierung liegt, nicht auf der Qualität oder Fairness des Gameplays.

Ich habe viele Jahre Spaß mit Counter-Strike gehabt, aber in diesem Zustand kann ich das Spiel nicht mehr empfehlen. Solange Cheating nicht ernsthaft bekämpft und der Support verbessert wird, sehe ich keinen Grund, weiter Zeit oder Geld zu investieren.

Blocked my account and ask for 25 year old proof

I bought a game on my steam account after years of not playing. Since the account used an old e-mail address, I updated it while I was at it. A little while later, I got notified that my account has been blocked. Why you might ask? I don't know - they would not give me a reason. I opened a support ticket to ask why and how I can unblock it. Instead of giving me a reason, they asked for proof of ownership. How did they want me to proof it? My sending in a photograph of the original CD key I used to create my Steam account 25 years ago. That's right... I find it absolutely absurd that the company that basically paved the way to a CD key free world asks for a quarter of a century old piece of paper that they, in fact, are abolishing ever since.

The support seems to be completely run by AI. I get the same responses over and over again and if I don't comply with their absurd demands within 2 messages, they will simply close the ticket. And you can very well imagine what happens if I open a new ticket: the same automatic messages with the same absurd demands over and over again. There is absolutely no chance for an alternative - more sensible/realistic - proof.

To me this really sounds like a very bad joke. But unfortunately, it's very real...

Valve is now definitely in the FLOP 5 of the worst companies I ever had to deal with.

Refund request denied after account was hacked

I am extremely disappointed with the outcome of my recent interaction with Steam Support regarding unauthorized activity on my account.

My Steam account was compromised by a malicious actor who appears to have accessed it from outside the country. During this breach, funds were used without my authorization to make purchases on the account. I reported the incident and requested a refund for the unauthorized transactions, expecting that the situation would be handled with consideration for the circumstances.

Unfortunately, my refund request was denied despite clear evidence that the activity was not initiated by me. As a long-time Steam user, I had assumed that the platform would have stronger consumer protections in place for cases involving account compromise and fraudulent purchases.

While I understand that policies exist regarding refunds and transactions, situations involving unauthorized access should be treated differently from normal purchase disputes. Refusing to reverse charges that resulted from a hacked account leaves the account holder unfairly responsible for actions they did not take.

I value the Steam platform and the services it provides, but this experience has significantly reduced my confidence in how account security incidents are handled. I hope Steam reviews its policies and support procedures so that users who experience account breaches are not left bearing the financial consequences.

Until improvements are made, users should be aware that recovering funds after an account compromise may be far more difficult than expected.

Pior jogo de sempre. Só cheaters, e a empresa valve nao faz nada.
So pensam em cifroes.. Nao fazem nada para ajudar quem joga justamente.. Devia ser hackeado o jogo e nunca mais deixarem ser jogado. Quem esta a frente da valve nao vale nada.

cant get good anti cheat AND trust factor

its really obvious that cs2 has lots of cheaters and instead of valve fixing it, they openly said the trust factor would fix the issue, but they cant get that right either. If you get a few reports from noobs you instantly have to play against cheaters which isnt fair at all. they should do something with the trust factor if the third party files are selected, not from reports from toxic players.

Hackers got a better chance of accessing my account

I’ve been logged out of my Steam account and have spent over an hour trying to regain access. Each time I request an access code, I receive an email with an account recovery link that sends me into a constant loop. Accessing the account is flat-out impossible.

I even attempted to use the app to scan the code, but not even the f@#$n’ app is functioning. This entire process is a shit show. Honestly, you might as well change your tagline to: “Hey customers – go f&@k yourselves.”
