My son just sat his IGCSE Double Science with the Taunton exam centre, and I have to thank the team for all of their support and advice. My son is home educated, having deregistered him from Y10 in Feb this year, and I found myself suddenly having to research and book exams. The Access Arrangement team have been so helpful, answering my many questions about my son's AA and offering their advice. Nothing was too much trouble. My son sat a mock with them in September and recently sat the Science exam series. He's due to sit more exams in May '26.

From a parent's point of view, I have found them efficient, approachable and really professional. All of my enquiries have been dealt with promptly.

From my son's point of view, he found staff really welcoming, he was happy and Taunton managed to secure the same reader/scribe for all of his science exams, to give my son as much continuity as possible.

I highly recommend Taunton exam centre to any parent or student looking for a reliable and professionally run service.

My son is home educated and is sitting his IGCSE exams a couple of years early. He has never been into a school environment or sat in an exam hall. The process was made easy by using tutors and exams (st Neots) and the experience was very positive. He has now sat some.during the summer period and the November period. The staff have been helpful and kind and it was all very positive for him.

The communication and organisation of both tutors and exams in Doncaster and Birmingham were fantastic . I would highly recommend them to anybody. They are so helpful and make the whole exam experience relaxing..

My son sat all of his GCSEs/iGCSEs with Tutor and Exam in Taunton, and we had no issues at all. The whole team is friendly, professional, and incredibly supportive. The Access Arrangements Team was especially wonderful — they took the time to ensure everything was in place so my son could perform at his best without any extra stress.
The exam environment was calm and well-organised. We were so impressed with the care and communication throughout the whole process that he’ll be continuing there for his A-levels too.

My son is home educated and we have been using Taunton Tutors and Exams for all his GCSE examinations. Last week, four days before he was due to sit his IGCSE biology exam paper 1, he had an unfortunate accident resulting in him unable to write sufficiently . On the Friday morning before the Monday exam, I phoned the AA Taunton Tutors and Exams team and explained the situation. The access and arrangements team worked very hard, at very short notice to provide everything that was needed so my son could still sit his exam on the Monday morning. Their quick actions and compassion was such a comfort at a very distressing time. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an exam centre.

Really really really really bad customer service, they ignore the phone, don’t reply to messages and when they do your left in the dark. They treat you so poorly I ended up going to my bank to claw my money back avoid at all cost. If you do use be sure to use a credit card so you can get your money back when it goes wrong.

Wrong exam provided, took 20 min of stress to correct. Rude staff.
Ignored all JCQ processes when we complained, and refused to provide any data according to SAR. Had to file formal complaints. Avoid at all cost

Unfortunately I cannot recommend Tutors and Exams to anyone. As a private tutor, I work with homeschooled children, and T&E have badly let down several of my tutees this year. In one case, an exam started extremely late and no map was provided for an exam that required a map. In other cases, exam rooms were noisy and uncomfortable, and it seemed to take a long time for exam results to be communicated.

This is not a professional organisation - they have one job, and they do not do it. Do not use.

Our experience with Tutors & Exams has been extremely disappointing and distressing.
My son sat his Edexcel International A Level Mathematics exams at the Mitcham centre in Summer 2025. Despite full payment and timely registration for all modules, the centre failed to cash in his results. This meant that UCAS did not show his final grade on results day, which should have been an A* instead of a B — costing him the chance to apply through Clearing, as no universities could see his correct results in time.
We only found out about the missing cash-in after results day, and were then asked to pay a late cash-in fee to fix the error — despite the mistake being entirely the centre’s fault. Even after the grade was eventually updated, the damage was already done, and my son missed out on valuable university opportunities.
I raised a formal complaint in August 2025, received a generic apology, and was told the issue was being escalated to senior management. As of October, I have still not received a proper explanation, refund, or meaningful resolution — just repeated delays and vague apologies.
This mistake had a serious impact not just on my son’s education but also on his mental wellbeing during an already high-pressure time. I expected better from an organisation that handles such a critical part of students’ academic futures.
If you are considering using Tutors & Exams, especially for something as important as A Levels, I would urge you to think carefully. Administrative errors here can have real and lasting consequences, and accountability seems very limited once your fees have been paid.

Having used this company for my daughter's IGCSEs this year. Their communication leaves a great deal to be desired. They are most impossible to get hold of by phone. They don't, often, answer emails. Their organisation when running exams is not great. I am definitely going to review my options for her next set of exams and if there is an alternative I will use them instead.

If I could give no stars, I would! Have been trying to get hold of someone on the phone for a week now. Attempted calling at different times of the day but the phone is never answered, I sit listening to music for 50 minutes each time and just get disconnected. Information about the fees, etc on the website is out of date and the only option you have is submit your application and pay the fee even if you are not sure what exactly you are paying for and what the process is. This is not something we go through on daily basis, so a bit of help would be much appreciated, but I guess speaking to a human over the phone is too much to ask...

Well little has gone right with this service. I have paid an unreal amount of money for exams, then remote invigilation on top of that. I am now sat on hold after trying to get through since 8am, they have never picked up the phone since I registered with them Coventry (forced to register with due to remote invigilation) and Bolton who we originally picked to sit them at will NEVER pick up the phone. I have no access to exam results on either of their systems. No email response and a neurodiverse child in utter meltdown unable to know if they can enrol at college. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE IT IS A ROBBERY AND NOTHING ELSE.....!

I paid the exam fees, plus the extra £400 per subject, to sit them in a way that allowed my disabled child to have access arrangements tailored to her needs. We have already got the results from the college local to us for her other subjects. ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A COMPANY MAKING MONEY HAND OVER FIST OFF DISABLED CHILDREN AND THEIR PARENTS!

As a home-educating mother with a severely dyslexic son, a huge issue is finding an exam centre willing to go through the hassle of catering to his requirements - this is increasingly difficult to do.

I turned to T & E because I felt they were the best option for me - our nearest centre is Doncaster.

Filling in the online forms was simplicity itself, with everything laid out clearly. It was less than a morning's work to fill out the forms (including the request for extra time and use of a laptop) and pay. After this I was given an account on a portal through which they sent information, but I didn't hear anything about my son's application for a couple of months. Just as I began to worry T & E arranged for him to be independently assessed. Again, I didn't hear much until the "access arrangements team" emailed to confirm he'd have use of a laptop and extra time. This was a huge relief as without these he couldn't possibly pass any exam.

Over the next couple of months I didn't hear much from T&E, except for regular updates about mock exams and centre visits being offered (via the portal). But eventually my son's entry info was posted on the portal, with everything filled in correctly.

On the day of the first exam (feeling apprehensive) we found the exam centre after first driving around a few random carparks belonging to neighbouring businesses. The centre in Doncaster is a small building on an industrial estate, next to an outlet shopping centre. There is ample free parking on the surrounding streets, although the centre is a little difficult to spot amongst all the identical redbrick, single storey buildings on the site. It's next to a montessori nursery, close to the Nuffield gym and within walking distance of a tile warehouse and shopping centre. I would tentatively suggest T&E provide a more detailed local map with pictures of their building to help nervous parents and their offspring out a bit!

The Doncaster centre is literally an exam hall behind a tiny reception area and small office. There is zero space for parents to sit and wait, so it's best to drop your child off and head off to one of the nearby cafes (or have a walk around the beautiful reservoir behind the shopping centre).

On results day I received an email directing me (once again) to the portal, where I learned he'd passed with an 8.

So, I really can't complain at all about T&E, it did exactly what I wanted it to do, albeit without frills. I didn't need to email or phone the office, so didn't experience the difficulties that other reviewers here mention.

Based on my experiences thus far, I hope to use T&E for my son's exams next year as well and am happy to recommend them to other parents.

Awful! My child has failed maths because of this company- avoid!! Booked St Neots for my anxious child because they offered small exam rooms. The whole organisation each day was a mess. The day before maths we got an email saying my child would be going 30mins away to Bedford. Arrived to a marquee with 200 kids (so far from small rooms on their website). It was noisy, a group of football academy kids knocking tables over, throwing stuff. They don’t reply to emails for weeks. Daughter has now failed maths and won’t get into college because of this. Avoid

I have used T &E Coventry for my children's exams for the past 4 years. We have had no problems at all and the staff have been great on every occasion.

This directly relates to the Mitcham exam centre. It is now 6 days after my daughter's A Level results, and we STILL do not know what her component marks are despite requesting this information on three occasions. We also requested the access to scripts service for both papers, and of course we still have no marked papers (they have already been paid). This company is really disinterested in its customers. I'm so disappointed in them. How can a candidate decide on which paper to have reviewed if they are denied the component marks? I have so much more to say about the Mitcham exam centre - maybe for later edits.

Just to let everyone know what this company is like: I emailed socialmedia Tutors and Exams the details they requested. They got back to me, telling me just how busy their team has been and asking that if I have already reached out to Mitcham, they will respond to me ASAP. I think these are just automatic replies TBH.

It is now EIGHT days, and my daughter still has no information on her component marks for her A Level (FIVE email requests so far and counting). They sent me an invoice with the “must pay within 24 hours notice” for the access to scripts service, which I paid last Sunday (5 days ago). Still no papers have been supplied.

To all future candidates (and parents of candidates), consider the scenario where you need a remark to meet your university offer. Your heart would sink seeing nothing happen day after day after day. They literally couldn't care less.

The other exam centre we used for another exam (NOT connected to T&E for the avoidance of doubt) gave us the marked scripts within 6 hours of our request, and for free.

Our experience of Tutors and Exams (Coventry) has been very positive, from booking the exams through to receiving results. Emails have been answered swiftly and the overall execution of exams has been professional and efficient. The booking process was easy and the timetable was accurate and easy to follow. Exams went smoothly and the rooms were well organised. The staff at the exam centre were friendly and the correct papers were issued for each exam. Overall, our experience at Tutors and Exams has been very positive.

My son resat his A levels this year at the Mitcham exam centre. One of his exam results wasn’t showing in their system. The centre didn’t bother to open tel lines until 8.30 on exam day. It seems like they may have one very disinterested person answering the phone. She said it’s an admin error and all you can do is submit an email to them via a form on their website. Finally the result arrived at 8:45 without the score and the grade wasn’t in the correct column so we hope it’s the actual grade but who knows. Very poor service on results day I heard the conversation my son had and the lady he spoke with really was not interested at all in giving information about their admin error. She couldn’t have sounded less bothered if she’d tried or given any positivity in her voice. Really disappointing service.

So far I've had a great experience with the exam centre at St Neots. My emails have been answered within 48 hours, I've had a few phone calls which were really helpful. We visited the centre in person which really helped my daughter in prep for her GCSEs. The staff are really friendly , answered my list of questions 🤣 and have made the booking a smooth transaction. Thank you as its a daunting time for parents and the children.

St Neots are always friendly always helpful and try best to sort everything. My older son has sat his exams this year and they were brilliant and my younger they are sorting access arrangements. They seem efficient and caring.
