I’m editing this review because Jason the new sales Manager bothered to call me to find out what the issue was. As he has only been in the job for 2 weeks that is a likely reason for the poor communication between sales and service. He had promised to diary my service issue for November and although there may not be a perfect solution he will try his best. In our phone call he fully understood how modern technology in cars can cause more service issue related questions beyond what used to be oil, brakes and engine.

The sales process is as you would expect for any expensive product. Keen to please and very reactive to any message. After purchase you are a second hand citizen and service team
Never respond. I waited 3 weeks to get a simple answer, I sent 3 polite emails asking and then two frustrated emails about no answer. Still never got the answer or any response at all so I had to contact Dacia UK HO who were great and answered the question in 2 minutes. For £27,000 purchase you would hope your future business and care would be worth more. So check and ask for commitment to a responsive service dept before you buy

The star system isn’t enough there should be 10 stars.
My Astra H was manufactured in 2009 and I bought it in 2012 and was recently recalled for a faulty driver air bag I registered the recall with TOOMEYS cherry orchard way southend, got it booked in for yesterday 4.0pm.
When the free repair was complete I was instructed that the horn didn’t work because it affects the MOT but had never had an issue before the replacement airbag I drove home and contacted TOOMEYS this morning, I found that I could only book it in if I parted with just a shade over £150 we argued for the rest of the the phone call but I declined to rebook it, as I will be 82 this year and only have my pension as income I decided to try and repair it myself which I did.
But I wondered what would happen to those customers who were unable to repair it themselves (By the way it was an easy fix without too much faff)
But I would not have left even 1 star for my experience

Had a situation with my car, seemed very hard to fix- the boot wouldn't open and my car wouldn't lock 😲. Brought it to the shop, George was awesome, so helpful, got Matt the technician involved, problem fixed in seconds. Demi, Evelyn, Matt, George have been amazing. Exceptional customer service. Very helpful and supportive staff who kept me informed when I had a Vauxhall specific issue. I was helped by Adam and also Cam who really went above and beyond to help. I would come back again for brand specific car issues without any concern!

Overall, I was satisfied with the service, but there are a few areas that could be improved.After the service was completed, there was no direct communication from the mechanic or technician. I believe it would be beneficial if the person who carried out the work could speak directly with the customer and explain the outcome of the service and any findings.I also noticed that the vehicle health check report contained an incorrect tyre brand. This was amended after I pointed it out, but greater attention to detail would be appreciated.A small point to mention is that the locking wheel nut key was not returned to the car after the service. I had to request it before leaving.On a very positive note, I received excellent customer care from Tilly. She was very helpful with all of my queries, always greeted me with a smile, and provided outstanding service throughout my visit. I believe she is excellent in her role at the reception desk.Overall, I hope that during my next visit, the mechanic or technician will provide a one-to-one explanation of the work completed and the condition of the vehicle.

Deal negociated: I agreed the price they were asking. order form signed all ready to go and then..... We got the price wrong it has to go up a lot as we made a mistake. The case is moving to the legal world. Avoid all this hassle by avoiding Toomey Southend.
Added after Toomey reply:
They suggest by saying I got my £99 back (which I have not) that this was only an enquiry: it was not I paid £500 deposit : this was an official order. With the Ombudsman and onto the court. My solicitor says we have a contract which they cannot just break because the feel like it. They think they are above the law.

From booking to vehicle collection I had a very comfortable experience.
The customer service I received from Tilly-Louise Mota was excellent. She was very polite,friendly and helpful.

I had originally bought my Vauxhall at the Southend location and after 2 years I wanted to sell my Vauxhall back to the Southend branch back in March’26. I have the car on finance. I was quoted £535 due to negative equity left. I had some personal issues around that time so I wasn’t able to complete the deal. Fast forward 2 months I contacted them again and the same branch and seller quoted me double (£1,075) on the original quote. When I questioned to why that was, I was ghosted. In the end I sold the car somewhere else 2 weeks later without having to fork out over £1k difference!!

Wanted a replacement car, saw a three-year old low milage Dacia for sale and chose Toomey Southend expecting them to be a reputable dealership. Turns out they're not much better than the ones on London Road!
Nice looking car, drove well, tyre pressure indicator came on during the test drive, which was noted. There were a few paintwork issues and the wheel trims were badly scratched. They offered replacement trims and to check the car over attending to the paintwork etc.
They claim to offer decent trade-in deals but only offerered scrap value for ours. We got 10 times that from We Buy Any Car which we completed.
By appointment with Zack, a week later we went to collect. Zack was out on a test drive, a colleague was available to hand over. The wheel trims had not been replaced and the paintwork not attended to. On Zack's return the car then went to the workshop. We had to wait some 40 minutes for it's return. Sadly, the paintwork was still not acceptable and the marks on the roof declared 'not repairable'. The tyre pressure sensor problem, I was assured, had been attended to. I threatened to walk away, and take my deposit back. I commented on the polishing and was told that they are not polished, only washed. We were offered £200 off for the roof paint. I had no car and had paid for the insurance so I reluctantly accepted. On arrival home, while cleaning the very dirty boot area I noticed that one of the tailgate closing 'buffers' was missing. I telephoned Zack who promised to supply one (with the replacement wheel trims). It took two separate return visits to actually get the replacement parts.
A few days later we took the car to Oxford. On the way, the tyre pressure light came on. One tyre was low. On the way home, the same thing happened. I found a small nail in that tyre which was, of course, bubbling when soapy water was poured on. I accused Toomey (Zack) of simply re-inflating the tyre and re-setting the sensor to 'cure' the problem. Toomey denied this suggesting the puncture happened after the vehicle left their premises. This is possible, but unlikely.
I am left with a very poor opinion of Toomey Renault Southend and Zack in particular and will never buy from them again. I would advise anyone considering buying from them to be very careful, not dispose of their vehicle or insuring their purchase before being fully satisfied. I wish I had walked away!
* Gesture of goodwill spare wheel / tyre kit gratefully accepted and installed. Will be much happier driving with a spare instead of the 'repair kit' as supplied by Dacia. Hope Toomey Renault Southend can improve their car preparation and sales performance as a result of my experience.
