Bought the wrong tickets

Unfortunately we selected the wrong tickets from the machine when travelling from Westminster Bridge to Greenwich and was fined accordingly. It was a genuine mistake and we appealed the fine. Patrica at Uber was brilliant at getting the issue resolved to our satisfaction. Throughout the appeal process we were dealt with efficiently and with courtesy at all times. Very good service by this company and particularly by Patricia.

Made our day

Made our day. Don't trust negative reviews here. Reasonable prices especially for family. We had a return, honestly the best money we spend on us on a holiday. Free toilets on board. May get busy at some stops running all day. On the way back to Putney we had to wait about 30 minutes in Embankment, but still it is worth it.

Sightseeing by Thames Clipper

We were on the Clippers 6 weeks ago. Did the whole day multistop thing and went all the way. The Mate Prince Seneviratne was very helpful on our trip from Barking to Putney. We started off with a visit to the Thames Barrier and started back up river. He explained about the 21 Bridges we pass under.
You can see nearly all the major attractions from the river! Stopped off at Borough Market for lunch but it was a bit too busy for me. Preferred the boat!

Complaint Regarding Rude Staff and Denied Service on Return Journey (Saturday 2nd August 2025, 22:05)
Dear Uber Boat Management,

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a very disappointing experience my family and I had while using your service on Saturday.

We were a group of five—myself, my wife, and our three children—returning on your service at approximately 22:05 at London Eye boarding station. At check-in, your staff member was extremely rude and unprofessional. Despite having a screenshot of our valid ticket, he refused to accept it and demanded to see the email confirmation instead. As I attempted to retrieve the email on my phone, he did not wait and left us behind, denying us the service we had already paid for.

This action was inconsiderate and unacceptable, especially given that we were traveling with children. As a result, we had to wait another hour for the next available service, which only went as far as North Greenwich. From there, we had to take a bus and finally reached home at 01:00—an ordeal that was both exhausting and entirely avoidable.

This experience was not only stressful and inconvenient, but it also reflects poorly on your company’s customer service standards. Based on this, I am unlikely to use your service again and will not recommend it to others.

I request a formal response to this complaint, as well as a refund or compensation for the inconvenience and service denial.

Scenic ride but crowded in the afternoon

Scenic ride, but during peak hours on a weekday we had to wait 30+ minutes for a ride. Recommend to ride early during the day as it got very crowded in the afternoon.
Reasonable rate for 1 day hop on/off for a family with children.

A great way to explore the Thames

A great way to explore along the Thames.

Bought a ticket online, then scanned on each boat. Went to the O2, at Greenwich North, unlike some of the others.

It was a warm day, so the occasional water spray at the fast speeds, was welcome.

I didn't look at the timetable once. I just turned up, hopped on, hopped off. I find it weird, that people expect a tourist boat with unpredictable numbers of passengers, and other boats, to stick to a timetable.

Had a great day and got some amazing photos. My only regret, is not trying it sooner.

Timetable is misleading

Timetable is completely misleading. We checked the times and made sure we were at the pier early. Only those going to further destinations weee accepted aboard. The next boat was scheduled for 20+ minutes later. This made us late for our next attraction. Expensive. Unreliable. False. Terrible.

Unnecessarily complicated boarding…

Unnecessarily complicated boarding process having to authenticate tickets as you board and useless announcements made us miss our destination departure. The on board announcement didn’t say which end of the boat to get off and the doors all said “ no exit to outside” so we walked to the back and saw the same sign and by the time we got to the front where we saw an open door, they refused to let us off despite not having cast off. When we did eventually get back the return boat had the additional words “whilst in transit” on the doors and the announcements were very clear and said which end to get off. Won’t be using the boat again! Taxi or public transport much easier and far cheaper!

Great way to move around London

Great way to move around London. Despite there was a busy period during our trip, the journey was amazing and the price is affordable.

I had to contact customer service for a refund of mistakenly bought tickets and this was settled in a no time.

I rarely write negative reviews but


I rarely write negative reviews but, I would give Uber boats zero stars if possible. We used on a recent visit to London. We took a single journey (This is what we requested to the ticket lady), after boarding, we were pushed of the boat after about 2 stops and told we had to re board another boat, The staffer insisted we tag on AGAIN for the second section (even after explaining the situation multiple times, she was not a pleasant staffer at all). As a result they Double charged us for a single trip, The single trip price was already Way to expensive ..). in the end it cost us about 32 POUNDs per adult to travel a few km.. Totally shocking. I would never use this service again and will definitely be telling others not to either.

Worst transport experience in London and disgraceful way of taking money from passengers without providing a service.

Uber boats is over subscribed. We are first in the queue and two boats have passed us as they are too full. We have been waiting over an hour to go a short distance and have paid upfront and now stuck in this queue with my elderly mother without a seat. Shame on you Uber. This is steeling money for the promise of a service you cannot deliver.

Staff friendly in very difficult…

Staff friendly in very difficult conditions the heat on board was horrid no air con no air flow it was not a comfy journey these last few weeks. But worse no working toilet whilest waiting to board and no working toilet on board either !! (To have no working toilet is quiet an occurrence laterly). Please forward

Horrendous experience

I recently used the Uber Boat service by Thames Clippers traveling from Millbank to Greenwich with my husband. Our tickets cost £52.40, but unfortunately, the experience was definitely not as advertised.

The service pertains to be a hop-on, hop-off experience with boats departing every 10 to 20 minutes and climate-controlled cabins. This was not what we experienced!

It was 30C in London on this particular weekend. On the outbound journey, the boat was unbearably hot. The air conditioning was either broken or non-existent, making the cabin feel like a greenhouse. To our surprise we found a number of empty seats on the crowded deck but they were like sitting in an oven as hot air from, I assume, the engine blew straight through them! It felt like you were sat in a furnace, hence why they were available. Uber Boat claims to be a fast and convenient way to travel—boasting a 23 minute journey from the Tower of London to Greenwich what’s not mentioned is the possibility of waiting for hours before a boat actually arrives and when a boat does arrive it will probably be full!! We waited 1 hour 30 mins before we could get on a boat!!

When we arrived at Greenwich for our return trip, we encountered massive queues and didn’t manage to board a boat until 10:10 p.m., despite arriving at 8:20. The boarding process was disorganized and confusing, with no clear signage or guidance, the approximate 100 people on the pier were shouted at from the staff from the arriving boat to queue at one of two places depending where the boat had decided to dock. We had arrived early and was at the front of the queue but because of the confusion, the end of the queue boarded first and we had to wait for the next boat. This happened on numerous occasions so we spent the evening racing up and down the pier hoping to be at the right end of the pier to embark when and if a boat arrived. The staff on the departing boats would shout for everyone to queue at the other end of the pier for the next boat. It was just chaos!! We were treated like cattle!!
Had we not already purchased our tickets from a self-service kiosk, we likely would have abandoned the idea and taken the tube instead. As it was, most of our day in London ended up being spent in queues.

Overall, the service failed to deliver on its promises and left us angry, frustrated and deeply disappointed. I will never use this , I was going to put service, but a service is none existent! I will never use Uber boats on the Thames Clipper again! The only advice I can give, other than don’t touch this company with a barge pole is , if you do decide to try it, don’t buy your tkt until you see a boat!! and then wait until you know it has space enough for you. If you’ve already bought your tkt you’ll be inclined to wait for the next boat especially when the staff tell you time and time again that there’ll be a boat in 5, 7, perhaps 10 minutes. ( whatever they felt like saying at that moment in time because boats never did come in anything less than 30 mins). Buying your tkt at the last minute gives
you the option of ditching the
river trip and using more reliable
means of transport without having to think about trying to get a refund. I have asked for a full refund, and will be talking to citizens advice and the Ombudsman if need be.
