Very disappointing experience at Sytner…
Very disappointing experience at Sytner Volvo Warrington. I was told my service would take considerably less time, but ended up waiting over five hours from 9:30am until 2:40pm. I had to chase staff twice for updates and was left confused about what was happening with my car and whether my concerns were being addressed.
I also raised a vibration issue when the car is accelerating and requested that it be investigated, including wheel balancing. Since the visit, I’ve sent two follow-up emails about my complaint and have still not received a substantive response.
The long wait was frustrating enough - I'm self-employed so this has a huge impact on me - but the poor communication, feeling fobbed off by staff, and lack of follow-up afterwards have made this a particularly disappointing experience.

It is disappointing to hear that your concerns about the vibration issue and wheel balancing were not adequately addressed, and that your follow-up emails remain unanswered. Your feedback is important to us, and we regret that we fell short of your expectations on this occasion.
Incompetent technicians and poor customer service
Our family have had multiple Volvos bought and serviced at this dealership. I recently took my XC60 in to have a genuine tow bar fitted. The car was left with them and I was called at the end of the day to say it had been installed but that they weren’t quite happy with it. When I arrived the retractable tow bar was sticking out through a roughly sawn hole in the back bumper, it would not retract as the underside had been cut out incorrectly which had evidently not been checked. In addition the bumper was scratched, where it had evidently been dragged along the floor whilst it was off the car. I was told that my car would be collected and the bumper would be replaced and any paint/body work rectified the next week and the installation checked as it had been fitted by an inexperienced technician. I received no further communication until I chased it, I was told bumpers were stuck in Sweden in back order. Seven weeks later after me chasing and checking with another her dealer who stated there were plenty of bumpers available in Volvo stock collected the car and returned it the same day…. They had not replaced the bumper, only the lower section despite assurances and my bumper remains scratched and they have not had the decency to respond to me since. It’s a lovely show room and I have always had good service previously but customer care and care for your vehicle is seriously lacking.

Sytner Group, poor customer values.
Sytner Group have a monopoly in the northwest, so if your fault or experience is a poor one then there is little incentive for them to improve. I’ve given Volvo far too much loyalty and regret returning after a brief hiatus. I’ll be reconsidering my options moving forward as the principal interface with the customer is via Sytner and sadly our experiences have been less than satisfactory.

Excellent work
The work that has been done on the car is excellent. The staff I spoke to were very helpful and always got back to me. The only criticism is that I was never able to contact the body shop at either Chester or Warrington. They never answered the phone. I tried other departments and they just said keep trying. I realise they are busy but it was really frustrating. Overall the experience was very good.

First class customer service
Having been badly let down by a local garage, I called Sytner Warrington to see if they could help. Within 7 days of contacting them the part was in stock and my car was back on the road, Communication was excellent - they called me when they said they would; left me a voicemail over the weekend to confirm that everything was in hand. All staff were pleasant, helpful and professional - I would have no hesitation in recommending anybody to use them.

The service the car received was fine
The service the car received was fine, but the service I received was very poor. This was the cars second service and the customer service left much to be desired yet again as points I made at the first service have been totally ignored and the same customer treatment still exists. It’s a shame for the technicians as they do a good job but the service reception is not customer focused.
