😟 THIS PLACE IS DEFINITELY NOT SWEET! And the staff at SweetInn do sweet nothing! 😟
This review is regarding apartment SweetInn Plaza Catalunya in Ronda de la Universitat. I advise you to read all recent online reviews about SweetInn Barcelona before you decide to book this apartment. The actual apartment is quite run down and old.
These are the problems we encountered:
☹️ We had no hot water for 2 days due to a fault in the geyser. SweetInn management did not bother to come and check the problem. We had to argue repeatedly that a problem did in fact exist. The attitude from Sweetinn staff members was rude and arrogant. We had no apology from them either.
☹️We wanted to check in at 3pm (1 hour earlier than the 4pm allowed) and they wanted to charge us 104€
☹️Remote control for TV broken
☹️Electronic check in was a disaster- it does not work. They give you only 1 set of keys so the rest of the family cannot go about independently. The electronic keys stopped working- we were stuck outside for hours and SweetInn did not answer their phone.
☹️Blocked basin
☹️ The door of the main bedroom is broken and does not close
☹️It’s a 13 minute walk from the bag storage place to the apartment.
We have requested a partial refund due to the fact that we had no hot water and endless problems with the electronic keys. They promise to refund us, but so far we have had no compensation. If you have a problem staying here, do not expect any help to resolve it, and a rude response from staff.

Hotel geboekt via booking.com. Van te voren moesten we alle ID-gegevens inclusief Selfie(!) digitaal aanleveren. Anders was er in Barcelona geen sleutel. Na een aantal telefoontjes en mail heen en weer tot de conclusie gekomen dat ze ons niet serieus gaan helpen om te kijken naar een andere mogelijkheid en dus hebben wij direct kunnen annuleren. Ze gingen niets retourneren.
Hotel lijkt alleen maar op geld uit. Kijk uit met dit bedrijf. De andere reviews zijn ook dubieus. Mijn mening zal anders worden als ze - ten minste - een gedeelte terugstorten. Ze hebben nog tijd genoeg (meer dan week) om andere huurders te vinden.

I forgot my wallet in the case of the apartment I rented from Sweet Inn in Paris. As I noticed, I reported it immediately, but they said it could not be found and they never helped me. I am sure I forgot in the case, not be found? It is never safe and they do not help. I am complaining.

EXTREMELY POOR ADMINISTRATION WITH ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY
2000$ were taken from within the locked room from their location at 5 rue Lécluse. Le Nest by SweetInn.
My family and I stayed from December 27th to 31st. During the day of December 28th between 10 am - 8:30 pm only one person entered our room which was confirmed by the reception desk worker through the security cameras and electronic key access.
We communicated with Despegar.com who was a mediator and we got email confirmation that the hotel had agreed to assist us with this incident and that they would send us an offer. This offer just said they would communicate with us to solve the issue.
We have made a police report. We sent the police report to those in charge.
Out of those people, we received a response from the Communication Center Team leader who said that they were going to « rectify the situation in a satisfactory manner » as their « clients satisfaction is their priority and they would take all measures needed to reestablish our confidence in them »
That was on December 31st.
Then radio silence for 11 days. We reached out several times and got no response. The only person who was responsive was the kind lady from the front desk who is the only person in this whole incident who has shown by sort of empathy and decency.
What a surprise that on January 11th we received a very generic communication (I hope this email finds you well kind of email) from someone from their « Communication Center Team » saying that unfortunately we will not be compensated in any way for this incident.
Not only is this an extremely unprofessional and disrespectful response after everything we went through but it makes you wonder about what kind of company this really is.
This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. No one has taken any sort of responsibility for the missing money after the only person who entered our room with a key was one of their staff. The police is still investigating this incident and they are in contact with us.
We truly hope that you don’t make the same mistake as we did and take your business elsewhere since you will be faced with an administration that does not care AT ALL about their customer’s safety and experience.

We were robbed from inside the apartment, sweet inn Barcelona our money and jewelry were stolen, and we filed a report with the police, and despite all this, they do not want to compensate us, and this is their responsibility. !!!!

Overall, a very nice apartment and I would not complain. But if asked there are a few things that could be done better for such a high-end stay.
The Sweet Inn ‘chat bot’ is a waste of time.
When I finally got a person on the phone (fire alarm went off) he said twice he would call back and didn’t. A women showed up eventually and turned it off. It is really loud.
Our original booking was cancelled by the host 2 weeks before our stay and we were moved here. It is a very nice apartment.
The thermostat is not the one from the (on-line) apartment instruction manual. Temps were fine so we didn’t pursue.
Internet worked fine as did the door lock from their app.
The television never worked. The remote in the manual doesn’t do anything but turn the power light on and off. Cables were nested in a corner, not one of the multitude of cables are attached to the TV except power. But we are not here to watch TV.
The bathroom needs a shampoo/soap shelf. We had to use the floor in the shower for toiletries.
The floor in the bathroom has grout issues (tiles are loose) and needs to be redone.
THEN we had another fire alarm. When I called they had no record of yesterday’s alarm and once again they put me off to call one of their colleagues and promised to call back. They didn’t. I called again and was put off again, no instructions for evacuation, nothing. I called again and got a different operator who insisted on a booking number before he could talk with me. They obviously have no plan or procedure in place for emergency. 45 minutes later a very nice, polite young man showed up and turned the alarm off. I never received a call back.
We generally had nice stay but we like to walk. It is about a 20 minute walk to town centre… down hill going, up-hill coming home. There is considerable traffic noise throughout the night, the apartment is on the R20, which appears to be a busy ring road. The street has very high-end shopping but few bars or restaurants.

- le système de clés digitales ne fonctionne pas. J’ai du contacter un conseiller à plusieurs reprises pour obtenir ces fameuses clés digitales.
- appartement 32 rue de Wagram Paris était très bruyant
- le système électrique à disjoncté
- des frais de ménage exorbitants de 107€ m’ont été facturés.

Alquile un apartamento el Sweet inn bruselas y una semana antes del vuelo me cancelaron la reserva y me devolvieron el importe.Volvi a coger otro apartamento de la misma cadena ya q el anterior ya estaba reservado y sin ningún tipo de explicación,y a 14 horas del vuelo me la volvieron a cancelar. SweetInn hides the construction works in the house in the rental contract in order to be able to rent out expensive holiday apartments. Be careful, here you will be cheated and lied to just so that the agency makes money. In the end, your vacation is ruined.

Terrible experience, room was cancelled at 10pm on the day of our stay.
We were hosting our daughters 21st Birthday in Barcelona and had 6 people to accommodate from the UK
Ruined the evening, all had to sleep on the floor .
The host failed to provide the entry details and would not respond to calls or emails from me or AirBnB

I booked a 4 bed apartment in Marbella via AirBnb. Once confirmed you find out its via Sweet Inn. Oh dear, try calling these guys on there numbers, they never pick up the phone, will only deal via webcam.
12 HOURS BEFORE WE ARE TO ARRIVE I finally get a call from their customer host agent, THEY CANCELLED MY BOOKING as apparently a problem with the property but the good news they said is they can offer a 2 bed apartment with one double bed, a single bed and 4th on a sofa in the lounge. WHAT A DISGRACE!
In the end I managed to get Airbnb to refund and booked via Booking.com an apartment also on AirBNB, but I will never use Airbnb (2nd time they have cancelled me) or ever ever book with Sweet Inn . USELESS COMPANY WITH ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. AVOID AVOID AVOID
SweetInn Appartament Ponthieu IV in Paris
We booked an apartment in Paris from August 26 to 30 cost 988 euros.
From the site it looks like a normal apartment and also nice in fact we booked with confidence as we had used SweetInn before on other occasions and had always been very comfortable.
In Paris we found ourselves entering the building and were ushered into the courtyard.
Here instead of a Garage ( Auto box) an apartment was made.
Amazed at the situation , lack of windows except for the huge glass entrance door instead of the shutter of the Box we asked how it was possible.
We were told that that was the apartment as described on the website :

They are asking more 300 euo per night to sleep in a Car Box, unbelievable.
Inside the Car Box there is still the infrastructure of the garage such as the shutter box , the switch to open and close the shutter itself.
The entrance door was in a precarious state and the code opening system was broken and dangling on the sides.
The two clearly windowless bathrooms were barely usable and the toilet flushing system operated with a push pump.
In addition, between the two windows of the Car Box where we slept was the building's garbage drain , so at three o'clock in the morning the city collection people would come and pick up the garbage with related noise.
In the face of our complaints we were called back by Sweetin who proposed another apartment the next day.
Being a vacation of only 4 days and not to lose half a day in the move we declined putting up with the precarious situation.
Having used sweetInn before and recognizing its quality , I would never have expected such a thing and above all I would have expected a much quicker and decisive support.

One of the worst experience I had with an Airbnb provider
And for 3 reasons:
1: First of all the checkin process is horrible, the worst I've had in an Airbnb.
They make you fill out a checkin form outside Airbnb, ask for private documents like ID and a selfie, and make you pay a deposit outside the Airbnb system, on top of what you've already paid in Airbnb.
If you don't, they refuse entry to the apartment.
Admittedly it's stated on their ad: I hadn't seen it, assuming check-in was like every Airbnb I'd done so far.
Lesson learned, I'll be careful next time, and above all I'll be careful never to book a single apartment managed by Sweet Inn again.
2: They use a digital key system to unlock access to the building and apartment.
Except that this system works until it doesn't: I found myself stuck in front of the apartment for about 40 minutes, because the app wasn't working.
A member of staff came to open the door, and told me I should have taken the keys... except there were none when I got there.
She handed me the ones she had, telling me they were the last ones.
3 : The apartment I had is just above... the company offices.
So to access the apartment you have to pass through their office: if you like the feeling of being watched, this is perfect.
If not, you'll have to go your own way.
The team is nice and available, but the processes put in place by the company are bureaucratic, inhuman, and create friction that diminishes the quality of the customer experience: I've become exactly the opposite of a fan, for life, thanks to them.
In short: to be avoided.
Location catastrophique pour dormir la nuit et service client sans ecoute

Nous avons réservé une semaine à Bruxelles dans une location de bonne qualité moderne et propre.
Problème : elle est située à côté du palais de justice notamment ce qui motive le passage de voitures sirènes hurlantes jour et nuit même quand l'avenue est dégagée.
De plus il y a des pavés dans cette avenue et le tramway qui fonctionne en horaires étendus.
Il est donc impossible d'ouvrir les fenêtres et impossible de dormir même fenêtres fermées sans bonnes protections auditives.
Problème 2 : le service client n'admet pas qu'il faudrait préciser ces conditions dans l'annonce et il y a donc une erreur sur la marchandise car 2200 euros pour 7 nuits permet d'espérer dormir.

Appartement in Parijs op avenue de Wagram geboekt. BIj aankomst bleken er beestjes/bugs in de keuken in de glazen, op het plafond etc te zitten. Direct gemeld via het nr van Sweet Inn. Echter dat nummer is van een call centre in India. Deze mensen luisteren naar je maar nemen geen aktie, nul! We zijn nu een dag verder. Geen beloofde schoonmakers langs geweest. Niemand is komen checken. Naast die vieze beestjes ontbreekt er bestek. Er zijn nul messen, vorken etc in de keuken. Ook hier wordt niets aan gedaan. Totaal onbetrouwbaar bedrijf dit.

And the worst is I think they know about it. Them self say they Will not sleep here.

“Luxury” apartment in Paris
Do not come here (9 Rue Duphot, Paris - booked via Airbnb)! Shower walls are not sealed, water flooded into bedroom and whole apartment and walls are wet. No helpful communication at Sweet Inn’s side. Advertised as luxury apartments, this is NOT luxurious. Pictures look nicer than the actual place. Building works are ongoing in the building and outside the front door. This place is so overpriced and falsely advertised. No refund was given by the host even though the shower was unusable for half the stay. Do not be fooled by the location, there are many better places to stay at with better prices. This place is way overpriced. Thank god I only had to stay there for two nights. Save yourself some trouble and stay away.

People done trust this place it’s a SCAM! All they care is to take the money they have no sympathy for human my family member had passed away 1week before my booking so I had to cancel it with a valid excuse and prove of my tragedy but they refused to refund my money. How awful of a customer service can that be. I’m so devastated that people like that exist! I’m 110% convinced this place is a scam. Also I was unable to reach to any live agent. It was all automated messages on all of they social platforms.
