Love it!
I've been a member of Sniffspot for 2.5 years and I have had a great experience time and time again! There are a couple of Sniffspots near me that my dog really enjoys and few places farther out that we haven't made the trek to yet.
Overall, the process of booking/billing/payments/membership are pretty simple despite the 1-star reviews complaining about billing practices (sounds like user error to me).
The hosts have amazing properties and I'm thankful they share that with the community through this app. So, I'll continue to use Sniffspot when my dog needs a break from his 'boring' home routine. Thank you for a great app!

I like that I have an option to take my dog to a private yard since dog parks are not an option for my reactive dog. But I think most new people renting out their yards begin with a reasonable price the after they get some good reviews raise their hourly rates to be too expensive for me to go more than once a week. Also one renter denied me access after I gave her a 4 star review instead of 5 stars. That makes me hesitant to give anyone a review.

I absolutely LOVE Sniffspot
I absolutely LOVE Sniffspot! As a rescue coordinator for a dog rescue, Sniffspot plays an important role in helping me evaluate and introduce a new dog to its potential adoptive family in a safe, secure, and calm environment. Sniffspot is also great when transporting dogs over long distances so you and the dog can get out and stretch your legs.

She can be reactive so having a private place for her to run & explore is awesome. We also take advantage of these places when she is in heat so she doesn't get stir crazy for those couple weeks.

An easy and safe alternative to dog parks
I’ve been using Sniffspot for a few years for my own dogs when we travel. It is a game-changer. I’ve also been a Sniffspot host for a few years now, and I am so happy to offer it for others to have an inexpensive way to run their dogs when they may not otherwise have the yard space or fencing. It takes away the worry of what you may encounter at a dog park. As a growing app and company, I’m sure there are growing pains and the need to try different things out, but the company has so far responded quickly to a few one-off questions and requests.

We LOVE Sniffspots!
I LOVE Sniffspots. My little dog loves to run and is often seen as prey to other dogs in dog parks. I feel she is safe in a Sniffspot. I find the subscription process easy to use, I’ve cancelled and restarted my membership a couple times. We most recently used it while on a road trip, my dog loved getting out to run in the midst of a 26 hour drive.

Has potential - individual yards vary; customer support 2 weeks behind
***I decided to update this post to comment on the fact that they had someone respond to my review IMMEDIATELY, but still haven't responded to my email regarding the fact that I was locked out of the SniffSpot I prepaid for. I'm docking a star for these misaligned priorities. Also I noticed that these reviews don't show up when you Google SniffSpot - you have to actually go looking for them. The idea of renting private yards is awesome for my dog but the execution of the company leaves a lot to be desired***
As far as the yards for rent, it depends on the individual yard. First yard I went to had a muddy spot that the host didn't warn me about and my dogs were FILTHY! The host never responded to my messages.
The 2nd and 3rd yards I went to were nice with no issues.
But the 4th yard I went to.....I was locked out. Host never mentioned that the space was locked and never gave me the code. When I contacted SniffSpot through email (no phone contact available) I got an auto reply saying they were 2 weeks behind on emails!!!
Overall this service has potential and I will wait to see if I get a credit refund for the yard I wasn't able to use
My advice is to message the host before booking, and if they don't respond, don't rent that space. The two yards that I had no issues with, both hosts responded to me, and the 2 yards I had issues with, neither host responded to me.

We use sniffspot weekly for our two pups. We have found four that we love and visit on a rotating basis. I have had zero problems with the billing that most of these reviews are complaining about. My only complaint is that, though I've contacted customer service twice about this, the website still thinks I live 100 miles from where I actually live, and I don't seem to be in control of that. Sniffspot says they'll fix it, but it never is fixed. It's very frustrating to try to find new spots when the site doesn't know where I am.

Allows freedom with peace of mind
I have been a member of Sniffspot for a few years. Never had an issue with them. Easy to book, and easy to cancel.
Sniffspot is the only place I can take my dog out, without having to worry about a thing. In my area, we have a lot of loose dogs, and have not had good encounters with while walking my leashed dog.
Sniffspot and their hosts have been heaven sent for us. Sniffspot allows us to have the freedom with the peace of mind. It’s not only therapeutic for my dog, but myself as well!

My Aussies LOVE their SniffSpot
The SniffSpot I take my 2 Australian Shepherds to is the best spot for us. There is plenty pf room for my boys to run themselves silly. Our spot has seasonal decorations to take pictures with, a ball launcher, plenty of toys to toss about and they even have a stick library for those that prefer sticks. If you're looking for a safe place to take your dogs, away from unsupervised dogs in a public dog park. Then you should consider signing up with SniffSpot and find your favorite spot.

I have taken my 2 dogs to various…
I have taken my 2 dogs to various Sniffspots over the past few years as I no longer visit dog parks for various reasons.
I usually only go to ones over 10 acres as my dogs love to run. They also love a water feature. The one I have been going to lately is 10 min. away, 15 acres with an open area, woods, a creek and a pond so they are in heaven. I can be there worry free. And if the weather turns bad I can cancel within 2 hrs. I love Sniffspots!

Great for my Lola
I've been using Sniffspot for quite a few years. My dog is reactive but loves to run around and get her zoomies out, and this allows her to do it. We have used many different locations and have never had any issues. Going to enjoy the swimming pool next month.

Too Confusing — No Way to Filter Nearby
I looked into SniffSpot but found their subscription and billing practices very confusing and frustrating. Trying to figure out exact locations, memberships, and fees felt like a waste of time. There’s no way to filter for places close to you either. For me, it’s much simpler to stick with free public dog parks.

Attempted fraud charge
Created an account and put in my card information but never used the service. Cancelled it but then SNIFFSPOT tried charging me $192. Thankfully my bank detected it as fraud or else I would have been upset. Do better

They continued to charge me for 4 months after my cancellation. Customer service even said I cancelled but there was a glitch in their system. Refused to give a full refund.

Wonky subscription service
SniffSpot made multiple charges in one day against an old canceled credit card despite being provided with a new credit card number. They then claimed via email they did not charge that card, despite all evidence to the contrary.
I have no idea how this was accomplished. There is no number to call anyone to deal with a significant issue.
Email is glacially slow. The dog yard I visited is nice, but after this mess I would never use this service.

Be aware of billing practices
We liked the few sniff spots we used in the area. They were clean and safe.
The reason for the 2 stars is their billing practices. I had a 7 day free trial that ended on 12/30. I had set up a "bronze plan" which was $20 / month. On 12/31, Sniffspot charged my card $20. On 1/1/26, they charged me another $20 for the month of January. Apparently they bill on the 1st of the month and do not prorate for the previous month. So, I have paid $40 for 1 day in December and the month of January.
I contacted customer service and they explained why I had two charges on my card. I responded asking why the previous month was not prorated and have not heard back again.
