The unit works intermittently

Installing Nightwave was relatively easy. It took about 4 hours for my buddy and I to install and if plugged right into my MFD (Simrad) no problems. The camera has been great to use. We have a long way to our fishing grounds in my backyard and we leave before the sun comes out and often fish at night. The image is really good and it has a very wide view. I love it so far!

Seeing is believing (pun intended) & their new Nightwave marine cam is the real deal. Was pretty blown away with how much detail it was picking up in tight quarters when docking. Around the docks in the marina, rocks when lobstering around the jetties, or navigating home offshore at night - the Nightwave makes life easier. I’m a huge fan of redundancies & tech that makes fishing/boating safer and that’s what this product does. And at a much much more affordable cost than other competitors. Big fan!

Very impressed with the product. For the cost of the unit can’t beat it. Being a LE officer can use for work and hog hunting. Would recommend anyone to buy it! I have the unit mounted on a bump helmet with the IR illuminator can walk or drive a vehicle without normal lights.

Camera doesn’t stay on, the audio is on high and there is still no audio on videos. The app interface is trash.

A zoom feature would be nice. An IR emitter that reaches out more than 50 feet, 300ft or more Preferable. Other than that it works pretty much as advertised.

Your app to use with the Aurora is so bad it's completely useless. I've downloaded it over and over again, and tried everything to fix issues. I'm not the only person with these experiences with it freezing crashing or never connecting to the camera to begin with according to online forums these problems are quite common dating ba k over a year. Its clear Sionyx has no intent of improving there software. It's 2022 this isn't acceptable if you want to use "military quality" as an advertising slogan with your cameras. I won't be recommending your products.

Wish I had not wasted 1200.00 dollars on this product!

I bought my sionyx aurora last year, it has an amazing picture but after roughly 5 months or so the camera started glitching and the screen would start acting up, yesterday I plugged the camera in after using it and now the camera will not turn on, while plugged in the green light flashes but never goes to solid. I feel after spending $800 the camera should last more than 1 year. I have searched everywhere online and on the companys website for some answers to the problem with no luck. The picture quality is fantastic but not the quality of the camera

The unit works well as a monocle; however my use case was to mount it and use the app to display live video. I can get it to “work” but the feed will freeze or disconnect.

Upon purchase of your explorer pro kit for almost $1,200 I think there is a problem with the sensor or processor in the digital night vision device. It doesn't even work at all in various light conditions low light and near moonless, darkness. It has a very grainy picture. With the IR illuminator it works great. However, there's no night vision without use of IR illuminator.

Great picture but the user interface feels like Windows 1995 and the clumsy button setups on top are awful! Click this 2 times to get something to record or play. It’s just some really lame controls put on this awesome camera. It’s like buying a Porsche with VW steering and suspension! Kills the whole experience. Plus guys, we gotta work on the battery life and the resolution. Surely you can get a bigger battery in there along with at least some 1080p resolution?? That is the bottom line these day as many thing have moved in to 4K. My drone has 5k Great design otherwise and outstanding optics, clarity, and overall picture for the money! It’s as good as you can get for close range night vision. McC

My sionyx is everything promised. A month after use, I lost a mount screw. Couldn't seem to get one from my dealer. Sionyx went beyond just getting my mount back to function. I've been in retail over 30 years, no one does it like this anymore.

Launched a product Nightwave that is incompatible with the new Garmins I have and they have no fix, communication is terrible and no discount or replacement in the works. They screwed up and consumers are paying the price. Unit cost me $1499, install $700, trouble shooting $250 and still no end in sight.

I’ve bought two Nightwaves so far, neither work. No tech support, no documentation. They don’t answer the phone or return voicemail or email. Save your money. Why buy something that doesn’t work?

Bought one of the new Nightwave cameras and I was excited to see its performance. Shortly after mounting and deciding to move it to another location on the boat, I discovered that water was leaking into the base. I snapped the base back on as instructed and poured water over the top for a short time, and removed base to verify. Water was again present so it’s obvious there is an issue. I contacted Sionyx and advised them of the problem and was told I would be provided a return label for it to be repaired. After a couple days after not receiving the return label, I contacted them again and was told it would be coming soon. After 10 days and 2 more contacts I am still getting the runaround. I then contacted the dealer I bought it from, they also contacted Sionyx, and they appear to be getting the same delays. I have now requested a replacement as I am concerned that if I get the same delays once they finally receive it, it may be months before I get it back. It’s unfortunate, because this may be a great product in the end, but they need to seriously look at the procedures if they expect to survive. Hopefully they will finally make this right.

I’ve had the aurora pro for about a year. This nvg is actually pretty amazing. Works well in low light, works well with illuminator, does a commendable job of trying to convert the dark into correct chromatic color. I gave it 4 stars because for this scope to make the leap it needs within the market it needs 2 things. First a digitally adjustable sight reticle as found on the ATN products. Second, the eye relief/focal point needs to be increased so that the eye doesn’t have to be so close to the display. This would allow for recoil with a black eye. SiOnyx has done a great job with this scope but these two features will greatly enhance the scope’s use ability for the hunting market.
