Stay History:

January 10th: Arrival date, all went smoothly, and we were checked in and escorted to our room. That evening, we ate at the La Tavola; I had fettuccine alla Bolognese and Jerri had penne Alfredo. The meal was wonderful. After the meal we strolled on the beach for a while and retired to our room. No signs of illness at this point as we both went to sleep from the busy day.

January 11th: After waking up from our sleep, we dressed appropriately and went to Spices and had the breakfast buffet. Afterwards we went to the beach bar area and had a pizza from Bella Napoli, where we relaxed for the day anticipating our beach candlelight dinner at 8:00 pm that evening. We did not have anything to eat between breakfast and dinner. We were greeted at our room and escorted to the beach from the table setup for us. I had. I had the steak and lobster tail; Jerri had the salmon, and we split the bottle of champagne along with ice water. We finished our dinner, took a stroll around the property, and retired to our room; there were no apparent signs at this point of any illness.

January 12th: We woke up late morning with neither of us having any signs of illness. We decided to have lunch at the Mariner Seaside Bar & Grill, where we each had a hamburger and fries. After we ate, we layed out on the beach for a few hours, at which point Jerri’s stomach was upset as well as mine. We spent the rest of the day in the room feeling sick and did not venture outside for any additional activities or food that day. As the evening progressed, we both felt sicker than we did earlier. We had expressed our not feeling well to the front desk. Not sure exactly what time that was. They did check on us later and asked if there was anything they could do, and we said, Can you make the illness go away? and the individual at the door said, No, and left. This is when I developed diarrhea, which progressively got worse. We spent the balance of our trip in our room.

January 13th: We spent the entire day in the room with our illness getting progressively worse; we did not eat or drink anything that entire day. During the evening, my diarrhea was so severe that I soiled the bed, the floor, and the bathroom and became so weak that I fell to the floor, lying in my own mess. Jerri called the front desk, which promptly sent two employees to the room to help me get back into bed, only to lie in my own mess. I spent the rest of the night crawling to the bathroom in my own mess, barely able to lift myself up to sit on the bathroom stool and to get back in bed. It took me quite a bit of time to return to the bed once again to lie in my mess. Throughout the balance of the night, I continually had diarrhea through early morning.

January 14th: Upon packing to leave, I still had diarrhea with uncontrollable bowel movements, wondering how I was going to handle the plane flight back home. Jerri was still ill but did not have bowel issues, only a very upset stomach. After showering and taking a taxi to the airport, I managed to make it but had an immediate need for a restroom at the airport.

I made it through the flight to Miami and had an uncontrollable urge to use the restroom. As I was walking to the restroom, I was having bowel movements, and by the time I reached the bathroom stall, I had completely soiled my jeans. I had to call Jerri to find a pair of shorts and bring them to the men's room, where there was a gentleman kind enough to pass them off to me. I had to wash myself with toilet bowl water, put on the shorts, wrap the jeans in a ball, and throw them in the trash. Somehow I managed to make it to Orlando without further incident, where we picked up our car and headed home.

On January 15th, I continued to have diarrhea throughout the day, so I called my personal physician, and he had me try a few things, none of which worked. Taking Imodium was one of them. He told me if it doesn't get better by day's end, go to the emergency room. I did not have any food again and drank only bottled water the entire day, and still there were no signs of improvement; I still had uncontrollable bowel movements.

January 16th That morning I was so weak that I fell two times; after the second fall, I continued to have uncontrollable bowel movements. I went to an emergency room, where I was told I was in pretty bad shape. They admitted me into the hospital, where I spent that afternoon and evening, January 17th & 18th, in the hospital and was told It was something I ate and also had severe hypotension with a blood pressure of 60 over 38. After extensive treatments as noted in the medical records, I was released on the 18th with some control over my bowel movements.

Not for me

This was our first vacation with Sandals and our last. Having had our first week in a much smaller hotel in Barbados we checked in to our pre-paid room in the main Mediterranean building. Within 24 hours I noticed a pool of water in the toilet area. I saw that water was running down 2 walls. The front desk informed me within half an hour that there was a problem 3 floors up and it was being fixed. When we returned to our room in late afternoon, it had not been fixed and worse, there was another deluge dripping in the bedroom area.
People at the front desk seemed to think there was no urgency to either visit or attend the room until I started shouting that we needed a room change immediately. Fortuitously, one of the senior managers came out and visited the room and agreed we should change the room. I asked if we could change to the Caribbean side, which I realised was much quieter and to be fair to the management a room was found which was much superior (Caribbean Honeymoon Suite) and they provided me with a US$200 voucher in compensation for the upheaval. Trevorne was very helpful.
The plus points were the food, which was excellent in all restaurants. The beach if you like to spend all day getting burnt and bored. “Entertainment” varied but have to say that some of it verged on the banal with constant music being blasted out over the Mediterranean Pool.
The negative points. Service at times patchy, both in restaurants, room servicing (why did I have to keep asking for things when a normal hotel would always replenish when servicing the room), poor maintenance (had to request a number of times for the outside stairs light to be fixed and on the last day the basin plug became stuck).

I canceled my reservation three almost…

I canceled my reservation three almost four weeks ago and have not received my refund. This long wait time along with three customer service people telling me I have to wait another 3 weeks to get my refund from the airlines. Beginning to feel like Sandals is a disgusting company and that’s all I’m getting from this the moment I asked to cancel. If you have a service where I can book flights from your website then I should be getting all my money back no problem. Especially your customer support telling me that they cannot do anything and I just have to wait is bad business. Why offer a service where you have no control apparently? Where your customer services tells me to wait 2 months and then call back if I haven’t gotten it yet? What kind business is that? Planned on rescheduling but after this I will never recommend, will never book with sandals again. Absolutely horrible experience.

Absolutely amazing

SANDALS MONTEGO BAY

Second trip to this resort, first to get married then back for our 25th wedding anniversary and yet again didn’t disappoint. Absolutely stunning place, on arrival was slightly let down by the greeting and very limited information about the resort restaurants and activities available, later found out its all on the app but should of been made aware at the meet and greet that never happened when we arrived but after that everything was amazing. Spotlessly clean extremely friendly and helpful staff, and the room was extremely good, big comfortable bed, tv, nice walk in shower and staff kept on top of restocking the mini bar and fridge, swim up pool to our room was also fantastic. Food was excellent and yes one restaurant you had to book in advance but no issues getting a reservation, main food hall always had a good choice of food and breakfast with omelettes made to order were lovely. You could also order pizza and burgers at the beach restaurant and to finish it off the ice cream parlour was a favourite of mine. You could order to your room which we did a few times and service was quick and the food was always great. The activities included snorkelling, paddle boarding, tubing, kayaking and sailing all included in your stay were excellent and the staff really helpful if you’ve never done them before. Night time entertainment was also fabulous with a really good mixture throughout our two week stay. Extra bonus on the last day as our flight was not till late. We could stay in our room and not have to rush around to be out by eleven in the morning then hang around all day, which was great and a big thank you to the front desk for sorting that out for us.
Yes you are close to the airport and planes take off during the day but not a problem on a night as you only get the odd one and after a nine and a half hour flight was thankful that the resort is so close to the airport.
Big thank you also to Crazy kris and Shania, good company and always had time for a chat or help us with any questions we had.

I deeply regret not reading the reviews…

I deeply regret not reading the reviews before booking. Every negative comment was 100% accurate. My wife and I chose Sandals Montego Bay for our honeymoon, trusting the brand’s reputation. Big mistake. We booked the Beachfront Grande Luxe Club Level Junior Suite with Balcony Tranquility Tub — a name that promised luxury and serenity. What we got was neither. Despite providing proof of our recent wedding, we received none of the honeymoon touches they advertise — no rose petals, no romantic gestures, nothing. Well, except for a chilled $8 bottle of champagne. Only after reaching out to the online services with no response until speaking with a manager. So I guess that’s supposed to make it even? The room? Far from beachfront — our view was of a basketball court, not the ocean. The tranquility tub and the “luxe” feel? Total letdowns. It felt generic at best. Here’s the catch they don’t tell you: Unless you pay for a butler, don’t expect: Shaded seating at the beach or pool (it’s all “claimed” for butler guests) Restaurant access without ridiculous waits only if you have a butler. Only one restaurant has a reservation and you’ll have to make it a week in advance. It’s all about upselling once you’re there. As for the pools, the claim of “17” is incredibly misleading. Only two tiny pools are actually public — the rest are small plunge pools attached to certain rooms and are honestly not impressive at all. And let’s not forget the noise: the resort is right next to the airport. Constant takeoffs shake your room and drown out any attempt at peace. Romantic getaway? Not even close.This place felt more like a tourist trap than a luxury resort. If you’re planning something special — especially a honeymoon — I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The Sandals name doesn’t mean what it used to. For the activities such as the
catamaran boating experience have fun being squished with another 10 couples. For the luminescent water experience have fun driving an hour back and forth to wait an hour to swim for five minutes. For the horse ride on the beach. The experience was completely misrepresented — instead of galloping along the beach as shown in the photos, we rode a dirt trail with a brief, five-minute dip in shallow water. No beach, no gallop — just a tourist trap disguised as something special. On top of that, the return shuttle made multiple hotel stops, adding an extra hour to the trip — a detail that could’ve easily been disclosed in advance but wasn’t. And SANDALS don’t you dare come at me with your fake, copy-paste “we’re sorry to hear this” garbage — you don’t care, and you never did. Save the PR spin for someone dumb enough to believe it.

Sandals Antigua

Sandals Antigua. This was my wife's and my second visit to the all-inclusive Sandals brand and it was a great resort. The site needs a bit of a refurbishment here and there but people at Sandals, as ever, are what made the trip. We really were treated like returning family. The food and drink was, as always, excellent. Desmond, the trainer in the gym, was superb as was Jennifer who cleaned our room every day. There's something relaxing about enjoying a cocktail, discussing the "signature" of that cocktail maker and being able to say "sounds great, I'll try that now too, please!" without worrying about the bill. Sailing, snorkelling, a great beach, lovely pools.... It's not cheap but good value. Special mention must also go to Latisha in the Loyalty Office who set up our next trip and (looking online) seems to have got us a stunning deal.

BEST VACATION EVER🥰

We stayed at the Sandals Royal Bahamian on Nassau in the Bahamas, what an amazing vacation! I want to thank our team of Butlers- Kevinson and Sterling, they made our honeymoon so special❤️. Keisha at Komotto made our last night memorable by getting us in to see Chef Ron put on quite a show!! We loved it so much we booked 3 more trips with T-Squared (amazing human💕) in the loyalty booking office!!

Magnificent resort to holiday

We were at Sandals Grenada recently. We found this resort to be the best Sandals we have been to so far. The service was truly amazing and the grounds are immaculate. There were some stand out individuals who deserve a special mention. We were fortunate to be stuck here an extra week due to the recent fire at Heathrow, and were so greatful to Sandals for there help and assistance. It would seem that nothing is too much trouble and the staff are really committed to ensuring the guests happiness. Here goes for those special mentions... Kisselle was the truly stand out performer, entertaining, efficient fast and super hard working I need someone like her here in the UK! She was brilliant and for me the best at the resort. Stevon at the poolside was so attentive helping with unbrellas and moving sunbeds and always checking on us. He was so good and again very hard working. Rachel in the Cafe was so funny with her cracks and great service. Nolyn at Neptunes was also a lovely person and very attentive. Jayvon at the pool was clearly learning from Kisselle and is already providing great service and a bit of humour too. Adam in Romana was great as was Kesron in Spices. Jennifer was particularly helpful when Virgin cancelled our flight. She worked wonders to help us. On the last day we met the General Manager Peter Fraser who was a true Gent. His influence on the staff is easy to see and he has a great team following his remarkable guidence. Our Butler Randal was also very good.

This resort attracts such a lovely selection of guests and we made many great friends from various parts of the world. Overall this is a magnificent resort and one we will visit again. The rooms were generous and well appointed. The view was great and the longer we stayed the more we appreciated it. We were there for nearly 3 weeks and absolutely loved it!

Sandals Curacao.

We were at Sandals Curacao last week and Had a wonderful Time. I have been to several different Sandals and found this one to be Excellent in every way. The workers there were outstanding. To name a few Jurynella from Loyality, Ann from Housekeeping, Cesar, Maelle, Shuvensly, Sascha, Jean Marie, Odalys, Richmario, Ivonnely, Karisha, Onika, Giomarlice, Jaimy, Talisha, Samantha, Orine, Ezequiel, Joandy, Terrence, Shaquan, Angela B., Kathy, Christopher. It was a wonderful Experience!!! We will Return!!!

humiliated by staff due to the perception of being local

as a Grenadian who migrated to the US/Canada I chose sandals Grenada to vacation with my fiancé. I had an Awesome time in butches, the staff was extremely friendly(kernel and renee @butches gave me the experience of my life) in general however after all the wonderful experience everything ended terribly. after exiting the resort I forgot my pictures so the taxi turn around so that I can go back and inquire about them. the girl on front desk (Caryl) )wasn't even Answering me when I told her why I came back(this young lady had an attitude even before I left)herself and her coworker was staring at me upset starring at me talking amongst themselves. After she called the photo studio she uttered something under her breath saying I don't need the pictures now I have two weeks to get them(because I have a strong Grenadian accent she assume I reside here). After the Photo Booth told her come choose the photos I had to ask her 5 times or more what did she say. As soon as I get in there to chose the pictures a worker (laurel/laureen) opened the door shouting at me saying what the hell are you doing here when a taxi was here 3 hours ago! this was in the presence of my fiancee and the other workers. in the moment my fiancee walked out while I looked at her astonished. this is is someone who didn't introduce themselves and was very unprofessional! she continued to question me as to why I had to use the red lane spa and so much more.... mind you I had a butler suite with complimentary spa. laurel/lauryn was even saying to me why would I want to pay for photos right after my stay and I need to pay for it before my stay! this staff is telling me when to pay for my photos. with the shame and humiliation I had to last minute change my return ticket, extended my stay at a different hotel just to see when I can get my photos. on my way out they were uttering that they thought I lived in Grenada permanently. laurel tone only changed when she realized I have other nationality. this just went a long way to show how bias the staff probably behave to local people! I didn't find it necessary to title myself as Dr or claim other nationalities to be treated like someone on a vacation! before I got my career as a MD I worked for this company about 10 years ago, I met butch and understood what he stand for. he would've been so disappointed ! im still in awe that this happened at a 'Sandals' resort.

Zero concern for their guests

We spent 5 nights at the Sandals Resort in Saint Lucia's Regency resort. It was the worst vacation we had ever had. The shower was broken and you couldn't control the hot water. It literally burned my neck and shoulders. We reported it Friday. They fixed it Monday evening. We requested a handicap accessible room and were told we had one on the beach. We were switched to the furthest room from the beach. The shuttle drivers were lazy and rude. Both my wife and I suffered during this trip. I ended up having to go home in a wheelchair due to their negligence with broken kneecap. They keep saying someone is reaching out to me from Sandals, but 11 days later, still nothing. The only thing about this place that was all-inclusive was the money they took from us. Complete trash experience

Sandals Grande Antigua - life in Paradise!

We have just returned from Sandals Grande Antigua. We were welcomed like long lost family. The facilities are excellent and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food and drinks are excellent! Okay there are a few areas that need updating, but overall the place is special. Then there is that beach! Wow! Beautiful white sand against the bright blue sea.

Great resort but one change is needed for low vision guests.

My husband and I vacationed in November 2024 at Sandals Grenada resort. The entire resort was lovely, the staff extremely friendly & accommodating, and the food at every restaurant was extraordinary. So why only 4 stars? I have low vision and I’m legally blind. There were no yellow stripes on the edges of the numerous stair steps, especially at night when the resort lightings is low which may seem romantic for many guests but for me it was a nightmare. I had to depend on my husband’s assistance to prevent falling down the stairs located throughout the entire resort. I can only hope Sandals sees this review and resolves this issue so that others like me can truly safely enjoy the Grenada Sandals resort.

We recently stayed at Sandals in Grenada, the whole experience was fantastic! The staff were polite and very friendly, I must mention Kenley in particular, he was very friendly and extremely helpful! Will definitely be back!

Sandals Exuma closed after we had…

Sandals Exuma closed after we had booked a golf holiday and paid through our golf travel agent, Elegant Golf. Our pleas for help were ignored by both companies other than to inform us you will need to pay an extra $5000 for an equivalent golf holiday in the area. To cancel the holiday because our flights had been booked would be extortionate too. So avoid Sandals and Elegant Golf would by my advice, we have been stitched up beyond belief.

We saved and saved to go to Curaçao for…

We saved and saved to go to Curaçao for our 44th anniversary. We couldn’t wait to try the restaurants as noted online. It wasn’t much different than Golden Coral or any low cost restaurant, generic, nothing special. Not the quality advertised. Staff was snippy and just not pleasant. Way too much money for what they serve. The room did not look like the one I booked. The patio was tiny. The sunset ‘cruise’ was a joke. We sat on the floor of the boat while the driver drove very fast. Throwing us around. Snacks : generic meatballs and fried mushrooms were served out of cardboard boxes passed around by a deck hand. The music was blaring. This was sold to me as a perfect anniversary celebration. HA! What a joke!!! On the upside the snorkeling was fun and the crew was friendly. The ocean view was amazing. We would never go to a Sandals Resort again.

We booked online for a full package

We booked online for a full package. It FALSELY stated we had inlcuded non-stop flights in the package price but at checkout it was removed but kept at the same price. We did not notice this as it was a tiny click box that they unclick at payment time. The day after we received an email that stated we needed to book our own flights. We were furious. Their online mailbox is full, the chat person is unbelievably dense and useless, they donot answer calls, and they will not honor the FULL INCLUSIVE pricing they state online for everything included. Of course you do NOT get your money back and you will pay if you change a thing. EXTREMELY SHADY COMPANY.

Montego Bay

Montego Bay: You have to tip to get your bags to the bus, you have to tip to get on the bus. Our room temp control unit did not work, some lights did not work, no fan in the room (the pic showed it did) the drinks at the bar were horrible, the people are not nice. They called to change the room. We packed the waited an hour they they call and said about changing the room. I went to the front desk then finally changed the room. THEY COULD HAVE CARED LESS, but wanted me out of there. The were out of ham, pepperoni the whole week for certain dishes. No hair dryer in the room for 4 days. Took 2 days to make up the room and restock the fridge. Not clean compared to St. Lucia. NONE of the hot tubs worked properly, No shower by the main pool worked at all. So no showering to get in the pool. No notice on what to do when we were leaving. ATTIDUDES FROM MOST!

Tired and overworked staff to fill top management pockets

Treat your staff fairly and well, it shows how over worked staff is.

Royal Barbados is a prime example of Management getting rid of staff that is quite clearly needed and required.
Endless waiting time everywhere with stressed staff.

Customers should not pay 5 star prices to receive 3 star at best
