Don't really care about animals
We had an injured fox in our garden - heavy breathing, trying to move, basically very much in pain but still alive. We call the RSPCA and they just say watch it for a couple hours see what happens even though it obviously was not going to get better. The fox ended up slowly dying after 2.5 hours.

I just volunteer with them online helping them to spread the word of the animals. That makes me helpful and gives me a meaningful life, that is my little contribution to this world that many are trying to destroy by not being respectful with nature.

RSPA left a letter saying I was not in…
RSPA left a letter saying I was not in and needed to talk to me about a report on my Cats
I have no cats or any pets at all
When I phoned the number on the letter it took an age to get a call handler who told me he could not give me any info on the report and seemed not to believe me that I had no pets
I asked if an injured animal had been seen at my address so I could look out for it but he seemed he could not be bothered and said some one might call me some time he did not know when. If they were concerned for Cat I feel they should have told me what report was concerning having sent an Agent to my address. It all felt like a box ticking exercise.

I would like to make the reader aware the note instructed me to call the call centre at the cost of my time and phone bill ,it took 30 minutes just to get through when as stated in the reply the call handlers can't talk about the case
What was the point of getting me to call?

Seems the RSPCA can reply to reviews almost immediately but not animal welfare issues so shows where the funds are prioritised. as to the new reply
The call was for over 30 min at national rate £ 4.80 plus connection fee for something that could be done on line for FREE poor service

It’s worth mentioning that call handlers aren’t able to give out information from the officers’ database. They’re not officers themselves and when someone rings in response to a card or letter left by an officer, they log the information on the database to make the officer aware but can’t say exactly when the officer will ring back. This is because officers’ workloads are subject to constantly changing priorities due to us constantly receiving new reports of urgent animal welfare concerns.
With regard to your update, if an officer visits but a homeowner is out, depending on the type of concern reported to us they may leave a card or letter asking the person to call. The person’s number is then passed to the officer so they can ring back and arrange a visit.
Due to the volume of calls we’re receiving, unfortunately at times it may be necessary to queue to get through to a call handler or to try again at a less busy time. Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls. These rules apply to calls from any type of line.

Great Organisation.
Microvolunteering with the RSPCA has started of as a extremely welcoming experience, the staff team have been helpful when i have put an enquiry on their message system and have got back to be quickly. Finding a fox in the garden
Finding a fox asleep in the garden I contacted the RSPCA for advice. They replied very quickly and provided information and a link to their web site that contains very useful information on foxes should you want them in the garden or not. Very pleased with the assistance provided.

Perfect cat adoption experience
We adopted a cat from our local rescue centre (west hatch). Couldn't fault to centre or the process. it was clear everybody who works there really cares about finding homes for all their animals - very helpful and made the whole process easy and joyful.

A terrible time. I wish that the Rspca would allow people the right to go to other Rspca vets. Or to walk into the Rspca Hos. Instesd i had to go privatly but i got the correct diognostics ! For my pet, which may have been a goodsend had we.stayed on here.

Fostering for the RSPCA
We have been fostering a wonderful little spaniel in need of a little tlc since May from the Frankly/Birmingham RCPCA. The team have given us great guidance and support with her meds, diet and any other issues. I adopted my first pet from them when they were located near Quinton in the 1980’s and glad we have gone back to them after all this time. Absolutely devastated
I'm absolutely devastated. I sent footage to the police and reported violent abuse to a 5 year old dog that is terrorised on a daily basis by a violent ex rapist who served time. He punches its face in, kicks it and tortures it. Finally, after months of advocating for it, it was seized but I was told it was being returned to the abuser. It was checked by a vet who said it could be released back to the man due to not finding injuries. Again, this is despite overwhelming evidence that was submitted. A man gets sent back to prison for stealing £75 worth of fizzy drinks but a man abusing his dog is rewarded. The system is a joke and makes the RSPCA and UK law an absolute disgrace.

As a charity, the RSPCA has no more legal powers than any other member of the public, so rely on their understanding and knowledge of the Animal Welfare Act 2006 to try getting improvements for animals. As a charity with no legal powers, I’m afraid we're not able to remove animals without them being signed over to us by either the police or the owner.
