We planned a two week trip through the Canadian Rockies with numerous custom changes. We first contacted Rocky Mountaineer to make our plans, but decided to check with another agency as well so we called Rocky Mountain Holidays. We chose Rocky Mountain Holidays because of their agent Tom Ockelton.
All the additions, deletions and other changes we wanted to make to our trip were handled easily by Tom. He always responds immediately to phone calls and emails. He usually answers when you call. Whenever problems arose, Tom quickly addressed them. For example, Covid caused our trip to have to be rescheduled from 2020 to 2021 and again from 2021 to 2022. Also, during our trip a forest fire cut off power to Jasper Alberta where we were scheduled to go. Tom dealt with all these issues quickly and expertly.
He really fights for his clients to get the best of everything for the most affordable price. He was able to get us upgrades or bonus items at some of our accommodations and events. Best of all, Tom has a great personality and sense of humor that makes all your contacts with him a true pleasure.

We loved our Circle Tour of British Columbia and Alberta. It was packed with views and experiences we would never have been able to plan on our own. It was great being in the capable hands of all the people at Rocky Mountaineer. Thank you especially to Tom for guiding us through the whole process.

My husband and I have just returned from our amazing vacation aboard the Rocky Mountaineer, travelling from Banff, Alberta to Vancouver, BC. The Rocky Mountaineer had always been on our "bucket list", so I was more than surprised to receive the trip as a retirement gift!

From the moment we contacted Tom Ockelton at Rocky Mountain Holidays in May 2021 to begin making arrangements for our trip in September 2022, we were highly impressed with his professionalism, exemplary customer service, and his calm and friendly demeanor. Tom offered some excellent recommendations for our trip, and was always available - day or night - to provide prompt answers to any of our questions or concerns.

The Gold Leaf service we received on the train was beyond our expectations. The leather seats were extremely comfortable and the large windows with the glass ceiling provided breathtaking views of the majestic scenery passing by. Our trip was short on wildlife sightings, except for some eagles, but this did not diminish our experience onboard. The service we received from our hosts, Carolina, Tianna, Ivana, and Emmanuel was outstanding! We were treated with the utmost kindness and respect, always with a smile, and a "my pleasure" to any request. Their narration of the sights we were viewing was knowledgeable, and they always provided us with a "heads up", so we had time to get our cameras ready.

We took our meals of breakfast and lunch in the dining car down below our seating area. Each meal was beautifully presented, perfectly portioned, and tasted exquisite! We particularly enjoyed the braised beef ribs and the salmon, but everything we ate was delicious. In addition, complimentary cocktails and snacks were served both mid-morning and mid-afternoon, so we were always well-hydrated and well-fed!

Our hotel stays at the Fairmont Banff Springs, the Sandman in Kamloops, and the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver were all exceptional! We were even surprised with a complimentary room upgrade to a suite at the Pacific Rim, which overlooked the Vancouver harbour! Absolutely stunning!!

All in all, this was definitely a trip of a lifetime, and we are so grateful to have had an opportunity to enjoy this alternate view of the Canadian Rockies, as well as the first class service aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. We would highly recommend adding this trip to your "bucket list", and would definitely recommend booking it with Tom at Rocky Mountain Holidays! Thank you to everyone who made this memorable trip possible, and one we won't ever forget!

My son and I took this trip to celebrate my 70th and 35th birthdays. We had the best time in our life so far. Our agent Mr. Tom Ockelton planed the trip for us. He is a wonderful guy, every thoughtful, every knowledgeable and very sweet! I love Canada! So beautiful! I will recommend him to all my friends and I plan to take more trips in Canada and I’m 100% sure I will call Tom again!

We booked our special retirement celebratory holiday with Rocky Mountain Holidays for ourselves and our friends, and from the first contact we had with Tom we knew we were in good hands, he provided us with information regarding places to visit and things to do in Vancouver during our pre tour stay.
We booked the Rocky Mountaineer train gold leaf Grand Circle tour followed by a 7 day Alaskan cruise with Holland America. The train experience was beyond 5 star with copious amounts of excellent food and drink and friendly helpful professional crews not to mention the amazing views. The hotels were excellent and our cases were always in our rooms when we arrived.
Unfortunately before we could set off on the cruise my wife contracted Covid so we emailed Tom for help and advice and even though it was at the weekend he had it sorted out within an hour, therefore we believe going above and beyond.
A truly first class service.

We are so pleased with the service we received from Tom Ockelton at Rocky Mountain Holidays in the planning of our 10 day trip in June 2022. His service and advice was top notch. It was obvious from the onset that Tom was experienced in dealing with trips/tours in the rockies and with the Rocky Mountaineer. We just returned from a Rocky Mountaineer trip from Calgary to Vancouver. It was the best trip, everything was handled for us with no issues at all. The tour guides were knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and it was an excellent way to acknowledge that milestone.

Professional throughout, even through the very difficult 2 years of Covid lockdowns etc. They kept in touch and didn’t let us down. They kept to as much of our itinerary as possible, although some things had to be cancelled due to Covid. The tours that formed part of our tswere well worth doing, Banff and Jasper National Park. Topped off with the Rocky Mountaineer. Absolutely wonderful.

Tom O at Rocky Mountain Holidays put together an amazing 9 day journey for a group of 4 couples. He was quick to respond to every question or need we had throughout the planning, booking, preparation and travel process. His experience and knowledge of the trip options was essential in helping make sure we fit in every possible experience, and his suggestions were perfect. We knew this would be a once in a lifetime trip for us and wanted to do and see as much as we could with our time and Tom made it work efficiently.

The best way to see the Rockies by day only from Bannf to Vancouver is to take the Rocky Montainer train.
The staff (Chess, Kristina and Rose) on the train gave us lots of information and anecdotes along the way.
With the dome car, the panoramic view couldn't be better. The food and the service on the train was excellent.

Great trip - Tom immensely helped us in our plans, he was easy to contact and ready with answers to all of our questions. He helped us to feel at ease about traveling to Canada and all of his suggestions made our trip run smoothly.

The service and commitment from Tom Ockelton at Rocky Mountain Holidays was second to none. Friendly, helpful and always keen to answer any queries. The holiday was postponed due to Covid shutdown but rebooking was handled seamlessly.
Cannot recommend highly enough

Waited 3 years to take our trip but it was worth it.Had the drive and rail package , which gave you the independence to go at your own pace.
RM booked us at all the famous and beautiful old Fairmont's from Calgary,Banff,Lake Louise and Jasper and we were upgraded to a suite at each hotel. The train , we were Goldleaf , was so comfortable and with the glass dome so easy to take pictures or just watch the scenery go by and our crew were professional and fun. The meals and service on the train were special.
RM does everything first class from hotels they book for you, top quality rail cars and all the staff that welcomes you and makes you just feel special.
Special shoutout to Tom Ockelton, our booking agent, who guided us through the many cancelations and postponements during the pandemic and then delivered to us such a wonderful trip.

Travelling from Scotland, my friend and I started our trip from Calgary.
When you are faced with the Rockies, you feel awe! They are huge, magnificent in their snow covered peaks and etched in your mind forever.
Brewsters’ drivers/ guides were wonderful in their history, wildlife, geology knowledge. One, Mike, stood out ensuring all people on the coach enjoyed the same experience especially when meeting with bears!
All the trips showed the best Alberta and BC have to offer: national parks, Sulfur Mountain gondola, Skywalk, Colombia icefields…What stood out was nature in its unspoilt beauty!
As for the Rocky Mountaineer train, luxury is the first term to describe it. The quality of service and professionalism was outstanding. Our team provided a commentary on special sights which was so well informed.
The train allowed us to access sights and experiences we might never had seen from roads.
Our 11 days passed far too quickly especially with all the wonderful sights we saw.
Would we recommend it? Highly as it’s one which will live with us for a long time!
We only wished we had booked the Alaska cruise to complete our memorable trip.

Superb organisation of our trip by Tom @ RMH, extremely helpful in helping rearrange COVID driven changes/amendments & testing in order to return to US after the trip. Great advice on where to go & what to see.
Everything about the trip surpassed our expectations. Train staff incredible and food exceptional.
