Am Flughafen Malagaam 01.09.21 total abgenutzten Renault Clio mit fleckigen Sitzen übernommen(hätten wir ablehnen müssen)!!! Auf dem Weg zum Apartment beim Einlegen des Rückwärtsgangs kompl.Schaltknüppel incl.Verkleidung rausgegangen! Nach ersten Schreck, von uns wieder eingesetzt. Seither alle! Möglichkeiten der Kontaktaufnahme zum Verleiher xmal versucht, ohne Rückmeldung, trotz Zusage des 24 Std.Support.
Das sind Betrüger, die,so vermuten wir, älteste Wagen ankaufen und dann vermieten!
WARNUNG: NIE, NIE, NIEMALS dort ein Auto mieten!!

The car was delivered by Stefan who was a nice guy, however the car was old, dents everywhere, no radio, it would not go up a hill unless 1st gear. Stefano said to contact him if say problems, I contacted him many times in the 3 weeks, that I had the car, left messages, as I wanted a new car. No reply, I emailed office no reply. I called office day before the hire was due to end, then I was answered by a lady with no social skills, she claimed that I had not contacted them. I explained that I would need car collected as I had caught covid, she argued that it needed to be brought to airport. Then said it would cost 80 euros. To collect car from riviera del sol. They took 80 euros deposit bit claimed they hadn't, They turned up that day even though I rented for 1 more day and a 2nd driver was using car for groceries etc. I asked for the deposit and extra day they took back. They said they had to clean it because I had covid. Surely they should have anyway. Got message to say they only charged me 20 euros, as car was OK, which was a lie. My last message from the woman was claiming that we had left a covid test in car. A total lie as we were tested in clinic. Just trying to avoid giving deposit back. I would give 0 stars if possible. Car could hardly work terrible condition. Customer service disgraceful especially in view of the current climate. I've noticed that there are a few good reviews I can only assume they must be fake, especially in view of the amount of bad ones,

Llame para alguilar un coche automático,llegó de noche al aeropuerto y me encuentro que me traen un coche que iba fatal en carretera ya que tenía que ir de Málaga a Granada y para mí sorpresa el coche sin calefacción . Les llamás y no cogen el teléfono ,ahora bien .... Al día siguiente consigo hablar con ellos para solicitar otro coche ya que hacía muchísimo frío ,voy a Málaga de nuevo gasto mi gasolina me traen un coche que si tenía calefacción pero el volante durísimo y en cuestas el coche se iba abajo . En la carretera habrá saltado una piedrecita a la luna y se le ha echo un picotazo pequeño y por ellos me cobran otros 50€ . El coche estoy con el la noche que lo recojo el día siguiente y al 3 día a las 8:30 de la mañana lo entrego (entrego mucho antes de los días hablados ) y mi sorpresa es que no nos devuelven ni un céntimo . No es el dinero en si,es el mal trato por parte de ellos a su clientela . Repito,JAMAS VOLVERE A ALQUILAR CON ELLOS .

One Star is even too much, this company is going to kill someone eventually with the Unroadworthy cars they rent to people. Most of the cars have more warning lights on the Dashboards than a Christmas tree and then they take more money off your credit card than they are supposed to. Had to fight for 4 weeks to get my money back after leaving the car at the Airport because it’s so unroadworthy, They are absolutely the Dregs of Car Hire Companies & are cheap for a reason. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Mijn dochter heeft een auto gehuurd. Nooit dr borg meer terug gekregen. Super slecht.
Als je belt dan hebben ze het overgemaakt. auto gehuurd in augustus het inmiddels december nog steeds die 300 euro niet terug gekregen.
Huur is dus nooit geen auto.

If I could give zero stars I would. Similar experience to other reviewers. The company kept our deposit money of 380euros, said it would be refunded after 4 or 5 weeks. It never was and they stopped answering phone calls or Whatsapp messages. Then they stole a further 250euros from the same credit card two months after the rental period. We only got the money back through the credit card company.
It is a shame that the Spanish authorities can't stop them operating. They should, as they will keep on robbing money from customers.

Never! never ! We got an awful dirty car without AC, with 140000 km. They could not change the car so promised to get the money. We had to rent from an other company, but we have not get any money until now.

Hi group, I hired a car from Rentacarspain in January 2019 and returned it in April! Then in May I see on my creditcard account that the €390 Deposit never was payid back to my creditcard.

So after returning the car in April the Deposit where never returned. I have had several phone calls / email conversations with them, but no deposit returned today!

In end of August I had finally SMS contact with a Steven that promised to look into it and pay back the Deposit, but so far NO money at my account!

Will keep you guys updated what will happen, but I can not recommend RentacarSpain.com

Ok, 4th of October they paid me back 390 EUR, so all those phone calls, SMS, FaceBook publishing of the story and emails gave finally result😊👍

Absolute Katastrophe. Habe eine Mietauto erhalten, das nicht mehr auf die Strasse. Auf die Rückvergütung des Depots warte ich seit über drei Wochen, trotz mehrerer E-Mail!

Booked car for 6 six days. Waited for their representation outside the Airport Arrivals - waited an hour. When he did arrive he had a different car than the one ordered. It was a 20 year old "banger". He could not explain the insurance when asked. Due to timing we had to take the car. It had a broken front light, the charger did not work, the warning light for engine overheating would come on regularly. When we tried to contact the company we could not get a response - just leave a voice message.

Do not use these guys - they are rip-off merchants.

Booked a Ford Focus auto over the internet and arranged to meet the company representative outside the arrivals. After ans hour plus of trying to contact him he suddenly appeared and produced the paperwork and visa reader for us to sign...which we duly did, he then took us to the car only to find the car had mysteriously changed into an old beat-up Renault Clio manual!
We told him this was unacceptable and not the car we had ordered and demanded he produce the agreed car. He said this was the only one he had and couldn't do anything about it. We then demanded he cancel the transaction and refund the money which he supposedly did. A few days later we received an e-mail from Visa showing that he had not refunded the fee but had taken the fee out twice, leaving us with a debt of over £1000.
Obviously tried to contact this company but no answer to phone calls or e-mails. It was an unfortunate mistake not to have checked this company out prior to using them.....it was a last minute thing!
Now in the hands of Visa and their legal team.

In short...DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

We rented a car with them in October 2018 (14/10-21/10). We met our contact outside the terminal (which looked strange) and he had a payment terminal with him and the paperwork/contract). The guy was from Russia. We paid the rental cost (114 euros for a 7 seater for a week, plus 30 pounds for the windows and tyres insurance, that we had to pay even if our bank card was covering everything), and we paid the 390 euros for the 'franchise'. The car was old and all broken (it was parked with the taxis). The tank was empty at collection. It was night and we found a petrol station. We had 3 tired kids in this car. 10pm and a full day of travelling. 3 days later, we filled up the rank and we could see that the petrol was coming out by underneath the car (and we spent 80 euros there in petrol).. so we had to swape cars (one full tank against an empty tank...). The next car was also very old. When we returned the car at the Malaga airport, we were told to leave it next to the taxi, but after a few calls we finally met one of the person working for rentacarspain and gave him our keys. They are cowboys. Still waiting for my 390 euros and the money for the full tank (they took the receipt showing 80 euros). I am away to speak to my bank, and send some emails to the Malaga airport. They have to stop to abuse customers this way. I will post an other comment if I get my money back.

Really bad experience. We never got deposit back even though we delivered the car back in same shape, and never been able to contact them since to get the money!

I am usually someone that writes positive reviews, but as this company are so dishonest and unprofessional I am making an exception.
Like others I was impressed with the rates and only needed a simple car for a couple of days. I got the email with the voucher attached and then waited on the day of rental outside my accommodation at the agreed time....and waited... and waited. I got hold of them and it was on the way. I waited. I called no answer. My wife called and got an answer. They could not find our hotel which was unlikely as they are a Malaga company. After a while longer, nearly an hour late now, I called again. Strangely, even though they were on the way with the car, it turns out they did not have the car they were driving in. I have come to the conclusion it must have disintegrated into dust, as it was driven, after reading other reviews of the age and repair of the vehicles. Maybe they were not telling the truth though. I was then told I could have another car, but it was more money. I just suggested he had a romantic interaction with himself and hung up.
It looks like I was one of the lucky ones. Fortunately I did not provide any credit card details up front, so it cost us nothing other than a delay to our plans.
I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this company. I have read a few other reviews and I am not a detective, but a couple of the 5 star ones with "English" names, don't appear to be written by authentic English reviewers, but I will let people draw their own conclusions.

UPDATE. Do yourself a favour and click on the reviewers, with the English names that give such glowing reviews. I did and I am still laughing.

Do not use this company. They have old cars that are not fit to drive. They took out €384.39 then a further €313. I am now having trouble getting this money back from my bank. I sent them 6 emails cancelling my car hire, but they never replied to any of them. They do not have any details on their site about cancelling your hire car with them or a contact phone number. All the 5-star ratings are done by Rentacarspain and not genuine customers. Go to a recognised car hire company.

Despite the bad reviews I wanted to give the company the benefit of the doubt. After all there are some good reviews too. I assume the good ones are fake or fluke. Ordered a Renault Clio to be delivered at our apartment. Recieved confirmation and a “voucher” via email. According to the email the rate included full insurance. I tried to contact Rentacarspain through email, phone and WhatsApp to confirm this and the rate without answer. The car actually wasn’t more than 15-20 minutes late. However it was a 2005 model, dents and scratches everywhere. This I could have lived with for the price. However they now said it wasn’t fully insured unless I added 40 euros per day. So 82 instead of 42. Could have rented a brand new car down the street for the same price. If I didn’t want to pay the extra 40 they wanted 200 euro in deposit which would be returned if there was no damage. No where in my booking did they mention the deposit. After reading other reviews I wasn’t interested in giving a deposit. The person who delivered the car couldnt really tell me what insurance was inkluded in the 42 euro. There was no information on my confirmation other than that it was fully insured. Since everything seemed to match the bad reviews on here I told them to take it back and rented a car from a local place. My recommendation is to look elsewhere for a car. Don’t let the good reviews fool you. From my experience, what you can expect is what you read in the bad ones. Read them and save yourself money and headache.

Ordered a car to be delivered to apartment was rather late coming. It was an old car but served our needs. 200 euros was taken from the credit card in case we got a traffic fine was told would be refunded within 2 weeks after rental finished. After many what's app messages over the past 3 weeks we had no alternative but to go back to the credit card company they will get it back for us. The car hire company said they needed our details again to be refunded and wanted us to what's app the details. Go somewhere else and save a lot of hassle.

en werden vriendelijk meegenomen naar expres parking eerst de nodige betalingen gedaan en dan pas wrak van auto ..en borg van 390 euro moeten betalen na de auto dus ja we waren al geld kwijt en dachten die mens is vriendelijk komt wel goed .. verre van . Na betaling dus auto gearriveerd allemaal gepland natuurlijk, een Picasso vol builen , afhangende nr.plaat. A enkele km.en volledig lege tank ..lichtje brandde al toen we starten , de mannen natuurlijk spoorloos .
Gebeld , helaas zonder antwoord , ging toen al lichtje branden ...
Na vakantie auto teruggezet zoals afgesproken wel met nog 2streepjes benzine dat we zeker
borg gingen terughebben , helaas ..geen mails beantwoorden , geen tel. Nu ander tel. nr. gevonden bij adres daar namen ze op maar de moment dat je spreekt over borg , heel onbeschoft tel. neer ..je bent gewaarschuwd ..niet doen !!!!!
