I attempted dinner with my son, we chose the restaurant as it is on the way to the theatre and we were struck by the beautiful stained glass window, turned out to be the only good thing! When we walked through the door we immediately saw a man swigging his smoothy in the open kitchen, he looked right at us but continued to drink, didn’t put it down, didn’t smile or say hello, didn’t appear very hygienic, I was shocked he was the ‘chef’. A blonde lady with a foreign accent came over and said ‘sit’ pointing to a seat in the window at the front next to the door, we asked to sit further back and she said all the booths were reserved (there was only one table with people sat at it, the rest of the restaurant was empty, we hadn’t even asked for a booth we just wanted to be further back, it took 5 attempts to get a table further back, she kept insisting we sit in the window but we didn’t want to, we later realised it was to make it look like there was people in the restaurant. Every table we asked for she said ‘reserved’ until she finally let us have one, then walked over to her colleague to slag me off. A few more people came in and she managed to force them to sit in the window then later people were ‘allowed’ to sit in the booths including another mum alone with her son! Suddenly they weren’t ’reserved’. Why we didn’t just walk out I’ll never know, but politeness kicked in even though she was abrupt and sometimes rude. She wouldn’t let me order from the child’s menu for my 12 year old and get the offer on the sign opposite the door so the meal was over £50. As the kitchen is open plan I could see what the ‘chef’ was doing in between playing on his phone and swigging his smoothy, no spinning of the dough made from scratch, no preparation from scratch, tubs of toppings with ungloved hands cross contaminating each one. He then used a knife in what looked like a pre-prepared tub of garlic/herb butter, never seen anything like that before, usually they chop fresh garlic for each pizza and make the topping and sauce! He took a scraping from the tub and proceeded to spread it over the pizza with the toppings already on, he did that for every pizza, dipping the same knife into the tub and spreading it onto each pizza, touching all of the toppings, no consideration of allergies at all, no washing the knife. The starter of dough balls with chilli bolognaise arrived, the sauce was cold and not spicy, the dough balls were raw. The pizzas eventually came and were different sizes, my sons appeared to be a child size, yet we were charged the full price and she wouldn’t let us use the offer. When I say the pizza was paper thin, it’s an understatement, it was like wet paper, the slice fell vertically down at a 180 degree angle, no sturdiness, no crispiness, no crust, no support for the topping. It was an unforgettable experience for all of the wrong reasons. If I could give zero stars I would. I wish I could submit a photo as it was unbelievable!

Wow how to lose your loyal customers in one day. Gold member for many years and then you changed the rewards. Complete joke now all that money you have to spend to get to gold . The rewards for gold isn’t worth the time and money to eat with you anymore, I will be taking my family to other pizza restaurants from now on. Whoever thought of this new reward scheme needs to be fired asap …

Used to be good pizzas but clearly they have cut the quality of the ingredients down so much that the pizza we had was somewhere between the supermarket version and Tesco value. But prices are more. They think no one notices this?

I placed an order through Just Eat and specifically requested no onions or mushrooms, which was clearly noted on my end. Despite this, the order arrived with both, showing complete disregard for the instructions. To make matters worse, the food arrived cold and was of poor quality.

I called the restaurant to raise the issue, and the manager laughed—an absolutely disgraceful and unprofessional response. It’s no surprise their ratings are so low.

This experience was unacceptable from start to finish. I will never order from this restaurant again, and I strongly urge others to avoid them as well

Just bought a Margarita pizza from Tesco. There’s barely any cheese on it. It’s mainly dough and tomato paste. I was really looking forward to pizza tonight. Now annoyed. Charge more if money to produce it is an issue. What’s a pizza if it’s cheese less? Wish I’d gone for the one which starts Crosta instead. They have cheese on their pizzas!!!

I’m writing this review because I am fed up with the fact that although the packaging says mozzarella cheese and garlic flatbread, the mozzarella is all but missing. I have made a couple of complaints about it to pizza express and they sent me some vouchers but I don’t want vouchers! I want what I’m paying for which is mozzarella cheese on my flatbread!! I am currently making a complaint to trading standards. I want what I paid for!!!

Visited the Herne Hill restaurant and overall a great afternoon. My kids loved it. Apart from a bit of a wait for the starters, I would happily go back there again. The lady who served us was very pleasant.

M3 Fleet don’t bother - the staff don’t.

I arrived at Pizza Express today just before 21:00 hours. I stood there for three (3) mi utes before the staff acknowledged me.

I wanted a meal for myself after a long day entertaining at a wedding. Although it was before 9pm I was told that ‘we want to clean up and go home, but you can have takeaway’

I want a meal at a table like the friends of the staff were having. I don’t want a takeaway.

Tell you what Pizza Express after years of customer loyalty at both your Norwich outlets and many others I will NECER EVER buy Pizza Express again.

If your staff want to go home - go home and get staff who have a genuine interest in customer service, not uniform carriers

Very disappointed with Pizza Express at Wandsworth. My husband booked the table with the offer of a 65-year-old Pizza Express birthday discount and received confirmation for the booking by email last week. Today he received another email about the cancellation of the booking, which is very upsetting. He decided to contact them to find out why they cancelled the booking. They told him that they overbooked, and they offered him another time later on the same day. Unfortunately, that time does not include the discount at this time. This restaurant brings back lots of memories; when I used to go there with my late son, who used to love their pizza. So this week it's his 20th anniversary since he passed, and we wanted to go there to remember our time at this restaurant. I'm very disappointed with their canceling our booking. Not sure if I ever go back or order home delivery, which I did all for the last 30 years.

I made a booking last week, under the offer which I received, and the booking was accepted. just received an email cancelling the booking, and when I phoned to ask why, was told they had overbooked!!, so I asked about a different time slot, and was offered a table 45mins later, which I accepted. I was then told that I could NOT use the offer!!, WHY??, if they can offer me a different time slot, surely the offer should still apply!!

The bill came to over £200. We felt cheated! We booked a table for 8 on a Saturday afternoon for an adult birthday lunch. Despite the restaurant being fairly quiet with lots of empty tables at the bright, attractive front we were allocated a table right at the relatively dingy back of the restaurant close to the toilets. We had to wait some time to be greeted and seated. Drinks and starters order was taken fairly quickly. But delivered very slowly. Our pizzas took a very long time to arrive yet they were overcooked if not slightly burnt, with yolks in two fiorentina pizzas ordered rock hard (we weren't asked how we wanted them). To add insult to injury me and another of our party had a "free side dish" offer in our pizza express apps. When I tried to use mine all that was offered was an insulting free side of extra garlic butter valued at *75p* instead of the free side of our choice that we thought had been promised. The other person was unable to use their offer due to poor mobile phone signal. The meal took so long to be delivered that we did not bother ordering more drinks or dessert. I got the impression that the restaurant was short of staff. We were very disappointed overall.

Soggy pizza base. Undercooked starter. Awful!! An expensive experience. Will definitely not be going back!

Det er den dårligste pizza jeg nogensinde har fået skulle bare have en pizza magaritta og jeg Beder flere gange om der ikke skal så meget ost på da den kom var der helt meget ost på pizza bakken var helt våd selvom jeg hurtigt fjernede pizza over på en tallerken var buden fuldstændig våd den røg lige i skaldespanden bestiller aldrig der igen for hvis man ikke kan lave en magaritq så skal man ikke have et pizzaria

Ordered a relatively small and easy meal from the Beckenham branch, it arrived over half an hour later, (delivery time was expected to be between 30 and 40 minutes), the code number I was given was not correct and the delivery man had to spend a fair while tracing my order, when we opened the contents all the food was cold, the calamari was limp and just edible the pizza was uncut and under cooked and cold, very difficult to cut and tasteless, heated half in the gas oven but made very little improvement so 90% was wasted and I went hungry. Will not use again.

Love this place , my second home , staff are so friendly and it`s not false , they really are great people .
Food is served as quickly as possible with a smile and the food is the best , you can taste the flavour.
Last week they were very busy with it being half term but the service remained the same ...top notch .
And you can`t fault the prices either , great value .

My wife and I visited the Birstall branch today, there app wasn’t working, but they told me don’t worry we’ll honour the offers, it’s either free dough balls or 50% off pizzas ,so we ordered a large pepperoni pizza we were told the offer is not available with a large pizza, so I said ok we’ll have the free dough balls and was told sorry not if you order a large pizza, even though when I read the app this morning it said “come and join us, a free offer on every visit “so we just paid £9.50 for a very small can of coke and a very small bottle of peroni and left, we won’t be bothering again

As with most places these days they only seem to focus on the Uber eats riders who's kept walking through the restaurant opening the door and letting the cold in with full bike gear and helmets on and most carrying a large bag to collect orders
We on the other hand waited 43 minutes for starters and had to keep prompting server to check how long for food
