Die Familien Pizza die ich heute Bestellt habe, hat leider leider nicht mehr die gewohnte Qualität. Auch der Belag ist weniger geworden. Schade , liebes Personal, Sparen bitte nicht um jeden Preis!!!!!!

Exeter branch - visited 18 months ago, excellent food and service although very busy. Feb 2025 visited Newquay branch - excellent food, service and cocktails although very busy. Decided after good meals previously to go back to Exeter in May - food not up to scratch pizzas burnt and ingredients missing. Today,at 13.45 with some Tesco clubcard vouchers, visited Exeter as close to home, waiter said they could provide a pizza in 10mins , then he said vouchers weren't for takeaway (on checking it does say no takeaway with vouchers) so asked to eat in, asked for one pizza but was going to have sides and wine. Although many tables empty inside and out, told no tables for 3 hours as they 'had a big party coming in,' but could not see anybody waiting. We weren't going to be staying long as
only 2 of us, felt that he didn't seem to care. We won't be revisiting Exeter branch again which is a shame as they were previously so good.

Das Döner Fleisch schmeckt fad und alt, das Brot ist pappig, die Pizza war zu teigig und halb roh, nicht durch gebacken. Der Pizza Belag schmeckte ranzig und roch stark nach Schimmel.
Keinesfalls zu empfehlen, es gibt in Zittau wirklich sehr gute Läden woanders zu ähnlichen Preisen, da sollte dieser Laden eher wieder geschlossen werden für immer

Visited pizza express in Maidstone for our sons birthday. Even though the lady that greeted us was pleasant and friendly we were disappointed with the cleanliness of what we had on our table. Cutlery with finger prints on it, dirty water jug and all four water glasses looking like they hadn’t been put in the dishwasher. I accept that may one glass could be dirty but not all four. Put us off that we just upped and left prior to ordering anything. As a regular customer, I was disappointed in the standards of cleanliness.

Food tasteless and quality very poor, will not be visiting pizza express again. Used to be really good what happened

Welwyn Garden City gave up waiting for food and left after 1 hour.

We eat fairly regularly in three or four different Pizza Expresses and we find the staff excellent in all of them - that is when there are staff at all. For example, the manager, Mia the wonderful server, one chef and the bottle-washer were the only staff on a busy evening recently at the Leamington Spa PE. And this is not the first time we've experienced the joys of endless uncleared tables and being warned of the long wait. In the end, we didn't have to wait too long as most customers cleared off when they saw the problems, and we ate almost alone. And the pizzas were good. At Warwick on 11 July 2025 we endured intermittent blackouts which clearly affected the alarm so that it pinged every 30 seconds or so, loudly. Once again pizzas were good but the ambiance and the understaffing - loads of uncleared tables - were not. We do like the Pimlico PE which is more restaurant and less pizza-joint, but we think Pizza Express needs to get its act together on staffing and consistency of experience, or we will be eating elsewhere.

Four of us went out for a meal to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversaries. Our friends had a live insect in their salad, my husband's lasagne had very little meat in it and was cold in the middle, my Pollo Pesto was delicious but was warm on one side of the dish, not quite hot, and the rest of the meal was almost cold. We should have complained, I suppose, but we were there to enjoy ourselves. The service was good.

Disgraceful company, they don’t even care for the 2 star ratings they receive.

A blame culture company, I ordered my food @ 17.00hrs to be delivered for 18.00, order did not arrive until 18.55.

I called the restaurant first she couldn’t find my order then she blamed the driver.

Pizza express cannock put normal cheese on a Pizza that we order to be strictly vegan as my wife has anafalatic reactions to dairy. After calling to complain the duty manager Liam said it was the drivers responsibility to check the order, so they nor their cook was responsible and Liam refused to even listen to our concerns and just kept telling us it was the drivers fault.

Went to Pizza Express with a group of people with autism and learning disabilities who I work with. 20 in our group for someone’s birthday. The waitress refused to take the order because we wanted to pay separately. I took everyone’s orders . I asked if we could use my Blue Light card to receive a 10% discount and the shop manageress replied” No sorry, not unless you pay on one bill. We have to make money as well you know “ Had I not been with the group, I would have walked out at this point. We waited an hour and a quarter for the food to arrive. Whilst waiting, the wait waitress came up and asked if everything was ok? I said, it will be when the food arrives. The group were very patient and well behaved. On payment, I had to stand by the till and tell the waitress how much everyone’s bill was. Shocking!

Pizza at Pizza Express is consistently good however the size of the pizza has reduced over the years so now it barely fits a small side plate whilst the cost has doubled over the last 5 years. Too, the side dishes are now a rip off, particularly Anchovies, once you'd get 5 or 6 now it's only 2 and like all side dishes are a rip off price. The pizzas used to be about 13" diameter now only 9" and thinner dough, now they've introduced a larger pizza as an option but it costs £3 more. Pizza Express is now a rip off price enterprise since Wheel Topco purchased it from its previous Chines owner; they're making £21 million profit and taking customers for mugs

Our family ate here on Saturday the 14th of June 2025.
When we first sat down I asked the waitress if they still did the blue light card discount. She replied 'yes, I'll take it when it's time for the bill.'
We ordered the food, which was ok and the waitress was very polite.
When it was time for the bill, I showed my blue light card and she said she needed a code from the app itself? I've never had to do this before, so I let her have my phone to get the code she needed... it didn't work?!
After trying for 5 minutes, she asked if she could take my phone to her manager to show the issue, I said no, I didn't mind her being on my phone next to me but I'm not comfortable her taking it anywhere.
She called the manager over, who was not helpful or bothered, she looked and just said 'without the code we can't accept it!'
I said 'Here's my blue light card, you can see I've got one, the app isn't very helpful if it's not working correctly'
She replied 'We've only just started taking blue light card and without the code we can't accept it' and walked off.
I found that to be quite rude and I was not very happy with them saying yes I can use it before we had ordered and then not accepting it.
I have used the blue light card in different Pizza Expresses over the years and never had a problem - I show them the card and bingo they accept it!

I can certainly say I've learnt a lesson and will insist if they offer a discount to make sure it is on the bill before we order.

Ich habe Pizza und Salat bestellt.
Die Pizza war sehr teigig und hat nach nichts geschmeckt.
Der Salat sah aus, als wäre er mit Resten zubereitet worden.
Als ich gerade anfangen wollte zu essen, habe ich ein langes schwarzes Haar im Salat entdeckt.
Ich habe den Salat direkt weggeschmissen.
Mir ist daraufhin der Appetit auf Salat und Pizza vergangen.
Es war meine erste und letzte Bestellung.
Schade, dass ich die Bewertungen hier vorher nicht gelesen habe.

Had the privilege of being greeted by Lee today at Escape, Castleford.
Lee was polite. Funny and went over and beyond for us with having a young child and being stressed..
It’s a shame the pizza we ordered was lacking ingredients like chicken and tomatoes but Pizza Express still make the best pizzas and Doug balls…

Dined at Pizza Express Stratford East on 12/6/25 at 4.30pm. The restaurant was empty apart from 2 other tables. The worst experience I’ve had with this chain. It took ages to order and same for serving despite very few orders. I would say well over a hour before we had our order delivered. The pizza was burnt and heavily seasoned with pepper. So much so I couldn’t taste anything else. I was also informed I could order a side as it was a free offer in my App. Coleslaw was chosen but then told they weren’t sure if they had any left . We went for halloumi fries but then charged for the privilege. There didn’t seem to be any communication between the staff.. Further training needed for sure. Compared to other Pizza Express branches whom I’ve never had any issues, this branch was a complete disappointment. I would steer clear of Stratford East.

Pasta cold and misleading loyalty rewards scheme.

I attempted dinner with my son, we chose the restaurant as it is on the way to the theatre and we were struck by the beautiful stained glass window, turned out to be the only good thing! When we walked through the door we immediately saw a man swigging his smoothy in the open kitchen, he looked right at us but continued to drink, didn’t put it down, didn’t smile or say hello, didn’t appear very hygienic, I was shocked he was the ‘chef’. A blonde lady with a foreign accent came over and said ‘sit’ pointing to a seat in the window at the front next to the door, we asked to sit further back and she said all the booths were reserved (there was only one table with people sat at it, the rest of the restaurant was empty, we hadn’t even asked for a booth we just wanted to be further back, it took 5 attempts to get a table further back, she kept insisting we sit in the window but we didn’t want to, we later realised it was to make it look like there was people in the restaurant. Every table we asked for she said ‘reserved’ until she finally let us have one, then walked over to her colleague to slag me off. A few more people came in and she managed to force them to sit in the window then later people were ‘allowed’ to sit in the booths including another mum alone with her son! Suddenly they weren’t ’reserved’. Why we didn’t just walk out I’ll never know, but politeness kicked in even though she was abrupt and sometimes rude. She wouldn’t let me order from the child’s menu for my 12 year old and get the offer on the sign opposite the door so the meal was over £50. As the kitchen is open plan I could see what the ‘chef’ was doing in between playing on his phone and swigging his smoothy, no spinning of the dough made from scratch, no preparation from scratch, tubs of toppings with ungloved hands cross contaminating each one. He then used a knife in what looked like a pre-prepared tub of garlic/herb butter, never seen anything like that before, usually they chop fresh garlic for each pizza and make the topping and sauce! He took a scraping from the tub and proceeded to spread it over the pizza with the toppings already on, he did that for every pizza, dipping the same knife into the tub and spreading it onto each pizza, touching all of the toppings, no consideration of allergies at all, no washing the knife. The starter of dough balls with chilli bolognaise arrived, the sauce was cold and not spicy, the dough balls were raw. The pizzas eventually came and were different sizes, my sons appeared to be a child size, yet we were charged the full price and she wouldn’t let us use the offer. When I say the pizza was paper thin, it’s an understatement, it was like wet paper, the slice fell vertically down at a 180 degree angle, no sturdiness, no crispiness, no crust, no support for the topping. It was an unforgettable experience for all of the wrong reasons. If I could give zero stars I would. I wish I could submit a photo as it was unbelievable!

Wow how to lose your loyal customers in one day. Gold member for many years and then you changed the rewards. Complete joke now all that money you have to spend to get to gold . The rewards for gold isn’t worth the time and money to eat with you anymore, I will be taking my family to other pizza restaurants from now on. Whoever thought of this new reward scheme needs to be fired asap …
