Established in 1991, Pirates Cave Chandlery has grown to become one of the largest, well-known and well-stocked Chandlers in the South East of England. Our main shop is based in Rochester, Kent and we're ideally located near the River Medway and River Thames with Chatham Marina, Gillingham Marina and Hoo Marina just a few minutes away. With two floors and over 3,000 square feet of floor space, we stock a wide variety of chandlery products to cater for our customers, whether they be dinghy sailors, yachtsmen, motor boaters, or canoeists, we've got it covered, and all at highly competitive prices. What's more - we're open 7 days a week. Our website has become our 'second shop' and we thrive on being able to serve many more customers, with our chandlery products, wider afield. We even have a dedicated centralised stock warehouse to cater for our online sales. Our Staff (or Crew as we like to call ourselves!) are highly experienced, some having served our customers for over 14 years. We enjoy finding solutions and providing advice to our customers - it's something we pride ourselves on. We have a large supplier base, which enables us to stock and source all the items you would expect to find, whether it be from the smallest individual bolt (in Stainless A4 no less!) to clothing, lifejackets, paint, cookers, rope, dinghies and so much more. Of course, it would be impossible to stock every item for every boat - such as that diaphragm you require for your 10 year old bilge pump - but we will do our utmost to source it and get it for you, and fast. That's why we have thousands of loyal customers - customers who we are always so pleased to see and serve.

Ordered a Sevylor 12V pump

Ordered a Sevylor 12V pump. This arrived early. I wanted it to pump up my Kampa air awning but knew in advance that the adaptors were not designed for this purpose so i modified the ones supplied and everything worked better than expected.

Very happy with delivery and price from Pirates Cave.

Very disappointing service

Very disappointing service, places an online order back in March which was my first dealings with Pirates Cave, after 3 weeks of no order confirmation or any communication I called to chase my order, I'm told they are keeping my order as some of the items are out of stock and they wouldn't have a date to when they might arrive, after being spoken to in a rude manner being told "we are very busy at the moment so can't guarantee all orders will be despatched promptly"! 3 weeks will no communication and not contacting me to ask if I wanted the in stock items to be sent, cancel the whole order or wait for them to be in stock is poor!

Having given them the benefit of the doubt and fact they are struggling to get stock due to Covid I've placed a second order, only two items! Both items were the wrong items!
After a bit of messing around I get one correct item as the second isn't available.
Again over a week later no communication and no refund.
After having to call yet again, the refund was overlooked!
Very poor service, I'm sure going to to pick stuff up is fine but ordering online and having it delivered just isn't worth the time and hassle.

Dear Geoff. Thank you for your review, which we are of course very disappointed to read - as you will see from other reviews, this is most unusual.

We are investigating and do appreciate your feedback. In fact, since writing this response initially I believe a manager has contacted you to discuss this in more detail.

Please accept our apologies for any errors we have made - we're not perfect, but we are usually much, much better.

Easy and quick to order

Easy and quick to order, very good price. I knew when the parcel would arrive. Very little packaging to dispose of.
